ive been using my wifi since i got my blackberry 2 weeks ago, but today the symbol has gone grey which according to the instruction book means my device is connected to the internet but does not have access to blackberry services over the connection, does anyone know what might have happened?
View 9 RepliesAs of recently, my tour had turned off one day. The screen said technical support required, bring to your provider, or something to that effect. Anyway, the phone was fixed, everything wiped however. Ever since then, a new strange Grey symbol is at the top of my screen, and I have no idea what is means. It is on my home screen, directly between the time and battery life symbols, so basically it is to the left. It looks like a symbol of a mini blackberry with a tiny little pinkish square sticking out of the side of the left side of the phone symbol.

Sometimes the icon on the phone is white, sometimes it is grey.what is the difference?I have even stood right next to the router and it's been grey.Is there something in the phone that I have to change to FORCE it to use the wifi? I can't see any means of testing the speed. If I could, I'd see that GPRS gets about 5kb/s, but on wifi it should get 1.3mb.

I am connected to wifi and up till about 3 days ago everything was working fine, now it shows I am connected, but I can only get on internet for about 5 mins, I have to shut off all my connections then reconnect them for it to work again.

However, the wifi logo at the top right of the homwscreen is grey. When I go to manage connections it it has a check mark next to wifi and then my network name but the button on the right is yellow with a "-" (line) through it rather than a check mark?Does this mean it is connected or isn't? I am so confused.Sometimes I am able to browse but most of the time I simply get this message:Unable to connect to the internet, pleae try agian later.

Phone does not display a four square symbols which confirms that wifi is connected and activated.

Started happening about 2 weeks ago. My girlfriend and I went to 6 flags in Arlington, Tx I left my phone in the glove box of the car so it wouldn't get wet. When we got back to the car I had 3 missed calls but no service. Red X by the antenna logo and something like no network available. When I got home I put it on the charger and got a full charge, turned it on it said searching for network with the same red X. Found nothing so I pulled the battery and SIM. Waited a couple minutes, reloaded and had perfect service. A week later I started dropping calls and can only get service if the phone is hot it seems. Now the only way for me to pick up the t-mobile network is if I'm connected through wifi. Even then there is a huge lag in calls and sending and receiving data. Does anyone know of a way to fix this problem, if a way, or is it possible I fried it by leaving it in the heat?

But to get the phone to use it for BIS I have to turn off the mobile network and then turn the mobile network back on. But after a few mins it goes back to using the mobile network for BIS and stops using the wifi and it does not go back to using the wifi until I turn off the mobile network again.
