My Blackberry curve 8520 only works when it is connected it wi-fi and I am on as pay as you go with vodafone. My Twitter And BBM doesnt work and especially when im at school and i want to check them,it doesnt work. Also My wattpad doesnt work and it said that its unable to connect to the network. When im at home it doesnt work either.

- No problem from the Wifi end because I've another phone and it connects just fine over wifi.
- Plus, I have to actually turn off the Mobile Data so wifi can even connect (still no Internet though).
- When Mobile Data is on, Wifi says "Ready to connect when network quality improves" but as mentioned before, no problem with wifi.
My 8520 shows strong signal from my home wifi but it will not receive datafor webbrowsing and defaults to using GPRS which means cost
If I turn off gprs for data, nothing happens at all 'cannot connect to server' Wi-Fi working fine for all pcs and laptops in the house.
I currently have a curve 9300, and my service provider is Telus Mobility. I am connected to wifi and up till about 3 days ago everything was working fine, now it shows I am connected, but I can only get on internet for about 5 mins, I have to shut off all my connections then reconnect them for it to work again.

My signal is still coming through but I cannot receive anything. I press any button and still nothing works, it just comes up with the front page! I've been told to do a reset without taking my battery out and I've tried doing that and taking the battery out and nothing has happened. I've even tried looking for a reset button as I've been told there is one but I cannot even find that!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Curve (8530) from Verizon and within the last 24 hours my phone has gone from being fully functional to not functioning at all. First, my speakerphone stopped working, then I lost all sounds (ringing, alerts, etc) yet the vibrate setting still works, and now my trackpad has frozen to where I can't navigate the phone at all. I can still make calls by typing in the number or using my programmed numbers on the keys and I can still receive calls as well, but if I try and navigate using the trackpad, I can't move off of the sounds icon.About 4 days ago, I downloaded the new OS software when my phone prompted me to and when these problems started happening, I did a "soft" reset (alt+right shift+del) and a "hard" reset (removed the battery) which not solve any of the problems. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas about how I can fix these problems outside of going to the Verizon store and waiting hours to get help?

I have a Blackberry Curve 8520 with T-Mobile unlimited internet and Blackberry services. Until about 2/3 weeks ago I had the blackberry for about 2 months and was working perfectly, however now it's started to have some problems with internet services.The problem is that most of the time it just won't connect to the internet anymore. Things like Whatsapp, Googlemail, The Blackberry Store, Browser, just don't work. Yet sometimes they do. For example with whatsapp, it will suddenly stop sending/receiving messages and then receive them hours later. BBM seems to be fairly consistent however.. but is just really slow sometimes.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a bb curve 8520 on orange, im from the uk and have virgin broadband. i have a dlink wirles router. i can connect to it no problem and get the wifi emblem in white and black showing its connected, i also have my routers name come up so its definatly connected. i have litteraly no signal in my house, either 1 bar or sos, sometimes i will get uma signal, sometimes not, my gf has the same contract and phone as i do, both are orange branded phones and she gets uma signal almost instantly as she steps into the house. why do i not get uma, are my settigns not configured properly? as i really cant send or recieve calls and messages.

All I want to do is upload my photos from the phone to my PC - I have downloaded the most recent Media Sync software and when I connect the BB, 16 photos only come up - there are more than that and these are the old photos that have previously been 'deleted'. The photos which I am viewing on the phone are nowhere to be seen. I have tried to enable USB on the memory menu and I just get these 16 old pictures.I have looked at the device on My Computer, and I can see these blasted 16 photos in the 'pictures' folder in the blackberry folder, but when I open the 'camera album' it is empty.How can this be?I think there may be a ghost in the machine, and I will be finding out soon as the **bleep** thing will be thrown against the wall and stamped on repeatedly!

However, the wifi logo at the top right of the homwscreen is grey. When I go to manage connections it it has a check mark next to wifi and then my network name but the button on the right is yellow with a "-" (line) through it rather than a check mark?Does this mean it is connected or isn't? View 1 Replies View RelatedStarted happening about 2 weeks ago. My girlfriend and I went to 6 flags in Arlington, Tx I left my phone in the glove box of the car so it wouldn't get wet. When we got back to the car I had 3 missed calls but no service. Red X by the antenna logo and something like no network available. When I got home I put it on the charger and got a full charge, turned it on it said searching for network with the same red X. Found nothing so I pulled the battery and SIM. Waited a couple minutes, reloaded and had perfect service. A week later I started dropping calls and can only get service if the phone is hot it seems. Now the only way for me to pick up the t-mobile network is if I'm connected through wifi. Even then there is a huge lag in calls and sending and receiving data. Does anyone know of a way to fix this problem, if a way, or is it possible I fried it by leaving it in the heat?
