i recently bought a blackberry curve 9360. I have not been able to connect to my home wifi which is protected as well as a free wifi hotspot at my university. The phone says i am connected to wifi, however, i cannot open a website on my browser.The browser gives me the following error "unable to connect to the internet, please try again later. if the problem persists

I am connected to wifi and up till about 3 days ago everything was working fine, now it shows I am connected, but I can only get on internet for about 5 mins, I have to shut off all my connections then reconnect them for it to work again.

I keep trying to turn off WIFI to save battery life but when I click off WIFI in the Manage Connections box it keeps turning itself back on after a few seconds. Is there some sort of automatic connect function that turns on WIFI if it detects a signal? If so where can turn off this function?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a 9360 on Mobilicity Canada, which should allow wifi calling, however I cant find where to enable this.I am told this is carrier dependent, but my carrier seems to support this, so is it locked by the phone, or the build?The phone itself is originally from Wind, and I'm on 7.1.0.523 which I downloaded while travelling (and using a different sim). Do I need to roll back to a mobility specific build?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new BB 9360 with unlimited email, bbm and phone plan (no data plan but I didn't have one on my old phone either and I didn't have this issue). When I'm connected to Wifi, my bbm and email works perfectly. As soon as I leave that wifi connection, it shows I am connected to the Bell network but bbm and email do not work until I turn my phone off then on or make a phone call. It is like it has to reset before really picking up the bell network. I called Bell Canada and they basically told me I have to manually disconnect and reconnect every time I leave a wifi connection. That doesn't even work.

However, the wifi logo at the top right of the homwscreen is grey. When I go to manage connections it it has a check mark next to wifi and then my network name but the button on the right is yellow with a "-" (line) through it rather than a check mark?Does this mean it is connected or isn't? Phone does not display a four square symbols which confirms that wifi is connected and activated.
While checking the Wifi option it says it is connected and profile selected.

View 3 Replies View RelatedStarted happening about 2 weeks ago. My girlfriend and I went to 6 flags in Arlington, Tx I left my phone in the glove box of the car so it wouldn't get wet. When we got back to the car I had 3 missed calls but no service. Red X by the antenna logo and something like no network available. When I got home I put it on the charger and got a full charge, turned it on it said searching for network with the same red X. Found nothing so I pulled the battery and SIM. Waited a couple minutes, reloaded and had perfect service. A week later I started dropping calls and can only get service if the phone is hot it seems. Now the only way for me to pick up the t-mobile network is if I'm connected through wifi. Even then there is a huge lag in calls and sending and receiving data. Does anyone know of a way to fix this problem, if a way, or is it possible I fried it by leaving it in the heat?

But to get the phone to use it for BIS I have to turn off the mobile network and then turn the mobile network back on. But after a few mins it goes back to using the mobile network for BIS and stops using the wifi and it does not go back to using the wifi until I turn off the mobile network again.
