BB Curve :: Saving Incoming Text Number To Contacts?
Dec 13, 2011
How do I save the mobile number of somebody who has sent me a text, to my Contacts list? It seems that I have to make a note of the number and type it in! There must be a quicker way!
I have recently changed from iPhone to nexus 5.On my iPhone when someone new phoned me it was easy to add that number to my contacts and edit the info about it.However, I just cannot figure out how to do that with my Nexus 5. In the end, all I could do was write down the new number, then go to People and add it, and the name of the caller, manually.
I have an Iphone 4 and I just changed my number. After changing it ( last weekend) my phone has not let me receive or send texts or calls. Also, when I go to message settings on my phone my old number is still there and idk how to put in my new one. I have already tried resetting network settings. but that hasn't worked....
I have recently got a Nokia 6301 and put all my contact is. However when someone rings me neither their name or number comes up on the screen - just "call". What I have I done wrong? I have put the contact name in and phone number under "general".
I am using Blackberryr 9300. I bought it last month and it was working fine. From past week incorrect information is displayed on all incoming calls(Eg : for every caller it would show up the last dialled call details, sometimes it just displays few digits etc).
I recently went from a 8330 to a 8530 and everything was working great all weekend. However, last night I noticed when I receive an SMS message only the number shows with no names attached. This happened right after I connected to my Blackberry Desktop Manager.
I am being forced by my company to get a new phone that is not a blackberry. But is there a way to save all contacts to my SIM card? Not doing one by one so that all my numbers will transfer over to my new phone. Ir is there a way to make sure all my numbers get to my new phone?
My address book shows my both my email contacts and my phone number contacts. I just want to view my phone ook contacts and not the emails. How can i change this?!
My 9630 does not save my incoming email messages for more than a day or so. What am I missing. All my sent items show up in the mailbox but nothing from previous days for incoming. Is this a setting I am missing? I noticed a "on conflict mailbox wins" should this be changed to handheld wins?
I am an newbie in terms of the world of Blackberry. On my previous phones I have gotten used to the display turning on when a call and/or text message arrived. I can't seem to get that to happen with my 8530 Curve. Can that feature be turned on?Also, can the display to directly to text messages and/or e-mails without me having to navigate to the appropriate folder?
I purchased the 8530 Curve and sync my contacts from my data base (437 of them). When people call or text me I always see the phone number, but not always their name? So I don't know who it is...frustrating!!! Yet, when I call out, I do see their name. Then to make it worse, it is random...meaning sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.
Does anyone know why my phone does not register the contacts from the address book on incoming calls? It only happens sometimes and it seems like it is always after I connect it to my PC.
For some reason I am unable to send text messages to one of my contacts. Even though the tick sign comes up in the outbox, they do not get the message. This doesn't happen with any other contacts??
My blackberry 9300 came back from a repair due to an issue re battery not charging correctly. Since then on one particular mobile number can ring through to it but when trying to send a message to this same number it states 'identified subscriber'.
so i received an sms from a friend who i dont have saved in my contact list.is there a way to save the number straight from the sms into my contact list without having to copy it first and going into Contacts and saving it there
Recently purchased a sesnation xe. This is probably a bit of a basic question but I couldn't find an answer after searching. Is there a way to save a contact number from an sms from a previously unknown contact directly without having to cut and paste
I got my blackberry curve 9300 back from repair and it is working fine until I try and text someone. I type out the message and a little message pops up and reads "unidentified subscriber" but if I call the same number that works fine.
I don't know if I'm just being stupid, but I don't seem to be a ble to text to a number. When I enter a number the phone tries to "lookup" a contact and then send option is not there
There is no option to save a number to contacts from an SMS message.
There is no way to select the number at the top. There is no option in the menu when viewing a message or highlighting one in the list. Infact no-where on the phone is a save to contacts option for anything. Why? This kind of feature was available in the 80s on a piece of rock.
Note - The phone is running the latest software it can. Also I am aware that i can click the blackberry button to bring up the menu, select show recipients and tediously highlight then number, copy, then exit out and open up the contacts app, create or edit a contact and paste the number in. This is 100% UNACCEPTABLE from a 'smart phone', i may as well use pen paper and pidgeons.
