I have had 2 8520's stolen this year. The first time as I put my new Sim card in the phone it asked me if I wanted to verify my device. I said yes, and immediately ALLl my contacts (not BBM contacts - normal contacts) were restored to my device. I inserted my Sim in the new phone today and it did not ask me this question. Is there anyway I can get my contact list from Blackberry for my 8520?
The contacts in my C7 are lost. Fortunately i can see the last update in ovi.com.However, there is NO way by which I am able to restore them. When I try the 'Manage..' -> restore option, I get the following "Your device is partially configured. Please complete the configuration by synchronizing the device or remove it to add another." No clue about what and where is this 'partial configuration'.There is no waythat I can find to export these contacts so that I can try to import it into ovi suite on my laptop (I did not have a backup on my laptop till now!)
I've removed some BBM contacts but wish to add them back however when I go to "Restore using email" I get this message:"You have configured Remote Backup. Your contact list changes are being automatically backed up and you do not need to use the Remote Restore Using Email"How do I bring my old contact list back using the email restore feature?
My wife has recently upgraded to the 4s. I synced her 3gs to her iTunes account and then synced her new 4s to the old 3gs info. Now her contacts have vanished completely from BOTH phones. Cannot find them on either phone nor on her laptop?? Help!!!!
I recently upgraded my OS for my 9700 and did a handheld wipe.I do weekly backups on blackberry protect but it doesn't seem to be restoring my BBM contacts.
I have a new BB Torch 9810 and I'm trying to restore from BB Protect but not all contacts restore - and it seems random which ones don't. I tried a resolution posted about unticking not restoring contacts which are e-mail synchronized but the only option under "Synchronisation Options" on my Torch is "Deleted items". When I look at the back-up data on Protect for the old device (Torch 9800) each synch has 2 Address Book entries with different numbers of items. Could it somehow be restoring only one of these two files?
I just lost my bb so bought new one and tried to restore all my numbers like before, but was having probs as network wasn't set up properly. Now it seems I've lost all backed up contacts. How I can get them. Its backed up my email addresses which I didn't want?
I was messing around with my phone, and accidently deleted the Ovi Files and Ovi Contacts icons/apps from the phone. But now I have no idea how to get them back.I can't find any answers or support on this anywhere.I tried a reset, but that just did the settings.would a hard reset restore the phone back to it's original state? (programs/apps and all) if so, then how?
I backed up my contacts by ssh'ing into my phone and backing up the files in this directory: /private/var/mobile/Library/AddressBook.When I restored and re-added the files my contacts show up but I can't add or modify them...
The backup of my iPhone 3G has a plethora of partitions filled with errors from jailbreaking and I don't want that on my iPhone 4.In addition to contacts, I need my calendar and mail and photos, if possible.
I recently backed up my Nokia 5130 XpressMusic to the memory card and now I am trying to restore it keeps telling me no space on the phone. I have lost my contacts & messages. Prior to restoring I had over 600 messages in my Inbox alone now my phone is not accommodating more than 30 messages total. I really need to retrieve my data and would love any help I can get.
I've been a 9530 user since day one. Several days ago my 4th unit quit working and i decided to go with a Motorola Droid.I have all my contacts backed up with the blackberry desktop manager. I want to use this backup file to restore the contacts to my Droid. Can anyone help me?
The contacts on my iPhone comes from my Works Exchange server. I leave leaving my work on Friday. Once they disable me on the work exchange server, will I loose my contacts on my iPhone? Is there any way of saving these contacts that are already on the phone?
I currently have Exchange account and I synchronize contacts (and other info) with the server. I want to decouple the Exchange server and my iPhone, (for example, if I delete all the contacts on the Exchnage server I want to keep them on iPhone).
If I go to Settings/Mail/Exchange and I set Contacts to Off, I imediatelly get a warning messate that all my ActiveSync contacts will be removed from my iPhone.
I can't believe it. With PC Suite I my N900 will sync all 1500 of my contacts. I just deleted my contacts on my phone and got Mail for Exchange to work...it brought only 512 contacts across from my server. I hope that the others are not now marked as deleted on my phone and will be removed from the server on the next sync.
I have googled quite a bit without finding a solution. I have an MS Exchange mail account which I set to manual sync. Works fine. I have also told the SII not to sync contacts from my MS Exchange account. However, if I search for a contact in my contacts list the SII also searches on my Exchange server--which creates traffic I do not want and a lot of hits since I work for a large company. Is there a way to tell SII not search for contacts on my Exchange server?
I have accumulated over 1400 contacts in Outlook over the last 10 years. So, when I purchased my Droid 2 last year, there was no problem importing them into the phone with the exchange server. But, when the number increased above 1500, I noticed that the phone only accommodates 1487. note that I don't import contacts from other sources like Google or a social networking site.
Hi NokiaI have updated my E7-00 to Belle yesterday and now when I'm trying to restore my contacts, calendar and notes from Ovi sync server I'm getting error 'Service activation failed. Try again later.'I've reed in this forum that the exact problem was in August-September 2011, which was solved only in early November by manipulating on Ovi Servers. How can I restore my contacts now? Will be the issue solved and how urgently?
This is my first time using the blackberry forums I have hope you can help me find a resolution to this problem. I have a blackberry 8520 I have an old backup file from June 2012 which I restored because it should have the old text messages I want back on my phone the problem is that trying to restore this gave an error message half way through the restore "unable to restore database" after trying this a few times I then updated the Blackberry Desktop Manager to latest version and it now lets me restore the backup file. The problem now is that it does not have the messages that should be there, and also the messages that are in my inbox have an overview as normal but selecting it displays a blank screen with no message history also another issue is that I have the icons on my home screen showing I have a unread sms messages but I am unable to view these in my inbox they are not there. I do not understand what is happening here this should be a simple restore but there is a number of issues here can anyone advise me how to go about fixing this Eagerly waiting for a response Kind Regards
My company just recently singed a contract with AT&T. Nearly all the employees were provided with Blackberry Curve 9360's. We use an Exchange Server (remote desktop)and Microsoft Outlook. Is there a way to sync the Curve 9360 with an Exchange Server (remote desktop) and Microsoft Outlook?
I'm trying to restore my bbm contact list via email, I receive the email but I know I shouldn't be able to see or "read" the email myself - It should do it automatically.
I have a BB Curve 9300 which I back up completely (i.e.. all data) on a regular basis using the BB Desktop Software for my Mac.
Today (11 Jan 2012) I went to restore only 'Text Message' data from a back up I did on 9th Nov 2011.
On completion of the restore, 12 Text Messages we're restored to my device, but the actual message content is blank. I.e.. the messages appear showing the 'Sender' and the 'Date', but the actual message content is missing. The icon for the messages is the same 'green bubble with a pen' that appears with draft messages.

I was trying to restore backup from my Laptop (Backed-up files from Old Curve 8520 & back-up is in .tib format) to my new BB Curve 9300. But in a Desktop Manager's restore option my back-up files (from 8520 in .tib format) is not showing. What should be done to restore this backup?
