Aug 28, 2012I have the unlock key in the top of my blackberry 9300 broken (Play/Pause/Mute/UNLOCK key) How can I change the unlock function to another -not broken- key?

Jun 3, 2014The "cover screen with hand" option to mute incoming calls and alarms and pause media does not seem to be working. Turning over the screen works, but not hand motion. All of my air browse gestures work, I would think that this feature would work too since it uses the same sensor.

I find myself regularly accidentally hitting rewind or fast forward when I really am aiming for Pause/Play.
This is particularly annoying if I am listening to an hour long podcast, as positioning within the track using the 'slider' is painful.
It would be nice if the buttons could be configured to be somewhere completely separate. (pause/play at the top, FF/Rew at the bottom, for example).

The applications will begin downloading, reach a certain point of the download (most recently it was 95%), then it seems to pause for 20 seconds, and then it appears to start the download again, usually installing successfully on the second try.

Oct 10, 2012The micro usb charging connection has broken on my phone. Part of the board that the charger connects to has snapped off, (the V+ pin used for charging).
I have taken the phone apart and can see the micro usb connection that needs to be replaced but can't seem to find an exact replacement anywhere. I orderd these from Wurth [URL] and am waiting for them to come.
Also has anybody ever changed this component that can tell me the best way to do it (i.e. use a heat gun to take off old one) or point me in the right direction off some instructions (you tube video perhaps).

Jul 2, 2010My mute key has gone insane. Not only does it not always work when I push it, it often goes into spasms of randomly triggering without being pushed. This is a major problem, since in most applications it triggers a standby mode which can only be exited by... pushing the mute key.
Does anyone know a fix for this? Ideally, I'd like to make one of the convenience buttons a second Mute so I could use that to exit standby. That's not one of the native assignments; is there a program that could allow it? I'd also settle for killing the mute function entirely.

Oct 23, 2011I bought a Blackberry 9300 Curve (3G) at the end of August, with OS 6 on Tesco Mobile. Over time it has developed the problem that it will not always unlock when I press mute, so I have to do a battery pull or wait at least ten minutes before it actually lets me unlock and use the device. Literally what happens is I press the mute button and the device remains completely locked, really irritating when I have the LED flashing at me too! It mainly happens when I'm messaging someone a lot, so locking and unlocking really frequently.

What I did was Turning on the Backlight Keypad in Test and then pressed CHANGE APLICATION (Something Like that I have it in Spanish) and then the Lights Keep up all the time. The lock keyboard option was 'a', and I clicked it and it locked the keyboard. I hadn't realized there was a lock for my keyboard (and had been searching for one). However, I can't get it unlocked. When I press the menu key, it pops up that 'keyboard is locked. Press the Mute button to unlock."
However, I don't know where the Mute button is, nor can I get it to unlock. My theme is precision zen (I believe) if that makes a difference.

Jul 25, 2010i just bought the phone off of a mate knowing the problems but my g1 tottally died.so the only way i can make a call is threw a headset and also the ringtone speaker doesnt work so have to have my phone out all the time to see if i have a call/text :| when i open the camera i get "could not start the camera, close other applicaions and try oppening the camera again".
the lock and mute keys on top do not work atall and recently the volume key has stopped working. ive tried googling the problems but havent found much information on my problems. could it be the actual speaker. or the plastic midplate with the metal contacts on?im not too bothered about the camera and keys just the speakers soo i dont have to walk around with my phone in my hand with my headset in.
Xperia PLAY :: Unlock The Screen Using Gaming Buttons?
Sep 6, 2010I woke up this morning to find that the screen on my Xperia Play had stopped working. However, after a couple of restarts it began working again.
Now when the screen stopped working I began to panic as I am awaiting a phone call about my start date for a new job.
So when the phone screen was temporarily not working, I slid out the game pad to see if it was possible to unlock the phone and enter the pin unlock for my sim card by using the PS keys and dPad.
Successfully, by pressing a combination of the MENU button and another button I actually got to the screen which required me to enter my pin - from which I could have done successfully using the dPad and 'x' button.
Unfortunately, before I got to enter my pin the screen locked and I didn't quite catch the key combination in order to get back to the same pin unlock screen.

May 23, 2014Recently an application requested me to download "NBA game time" to use an additional feature. I opted out of downloading it. But I have noticed that since then 3 out of 5 times I unlock my phone it unlocks to the NBA game time app page in the play store. I now don't remember which app suggested this download. So I assume it was the sports center app but can't find anything that would keep triggering this issue. I even download the app and deleted to see if it would stop but to no success...
