Xperia PLAY :: Unlock The Screen Using Gaming Buttons?
Sep 6, 2010I woke up this morning to find that the screen on my Xperia Play had stopped working. However, after a couple of restarts it began working again.
Now when the screen stopped working I began to panic as I am awaiting a phone call about my start date for a new job.
So when the phone screen was temporarily not working, I slid out the game pad to see if it was possible to unlock the phone and enter the pin unlock for my sim card by using the PS keys and dPad.
Successfully, by pressing a combination of the MENU button and another button I actually got to the screen which required me to enter my pin - from which I could have done successfully using the dPad and 'x' button.
Unfortunately, before I got to enter my pin the screen locked and I didn't quite catch the key combination in order to get back to the same pin unlock screen.
Xperia PLAY :: Top Half Of Screen Not Working?
Mar 3, 2012I was using my phone, just an hour ago. I went for a bike ride (which I do on a regular basis), and I then tried to put in my lock but it seems like the top half of the screen is unresponsive. Nothing is different about the LCDs but the touch part isn't working.i already tried factory reset and to remove dirt/screen protector.

Jul 20, 2011Checking my phone, it told me there was an update available. I used the PC connect software to instal the update, following all instructions exactly. The update was applied and the phone shut off. I restarted the phone as instructed, and after a few minutes the update appeared to be successful. However, when I tried to use the phone I discovered that I could not unlock the screen! My first thought was to restart the phone, but without the touch screen, I can't even turn it off! It seems like my only option at this point would be to remove the battery to kill the power, replace the battery, and try restarting the phone.

Jun 5, 2012A little while ago my battery ran out on my Xperia Play and nothing has really worked since then.
1. Backlight does not work, at all.
2. The phone does not detect the battery (though I am able to charge it). I have that 'no battery' indicator on the top of my screen at all times. I have bought a new battery, no change. If I keep it plugged in with/without battery nothing changes.
3. Screen is really laggy now. I have to try to swipe the screen like 18 times before it actually goes through and unlocks. When I try to type, the keys I press get held so all sorts of funny accents are all over the place.
Its not usable currently. If I use the arrow keys to navigate the menus, it works fine. When I tried to take the phone apart I managed to break the LCD screen. Replaced that and now I'm back where I started. Anything I can do? Replace the digitizer?
Xperia Pro/Neo/V/L :: Unlock Screen Takes Multiple Attempts To Unlock Phone?
Oct 24, 2011When ever I try to unlock (dragging lock button from left to right) , I am unable to unlock in one go. It is taking multiple attemts to unlock my phone.I also observed that when I get to call, to cancel dragging the icon from right to left this is required multiple attempts.i.e many time dragging icon from right to left.
I don't know whether it is software problem or hardware. I have tried the repair operation also. my xperia neo is uptodate and running 2.3.4 os.I also tried to un install apps but I couldn't find any difference.Also once I unlock, those 5 screens, I can scroll inbetween and can touch home button. But when I long press on the screen to add widget/folder I am unable to do it as soon as I unlock phone. It is taking some time to respond.
As I purchased this phone in UK and using it in India, I am not sure how much service I can get in india from SE.I have bill for the mobile too.in other posts somebody told me to remove yahoo and i did the same but didn't find any difference.in short the touch scence is not responsive during unlock and for a while once get the home screen. I also installed andvance task killer app and killing apps frequently that also not making any help.

Jan 25, 2012I phone recently developed a problem with touch screen becomming completely unresponsive. I googled and found its a common fault with Sony Handsets. Now let me explain the list of tasks i did in order to get it back to work but invane 1- Tested a new touchpad 2- Software update 3- Software downgrade 4- Deassembling and reassembling
i think i didn't miss anything but still its not responsive. It does sometimes response but if i do restart battery pull, open back case its unresponsive again. According to my knowledge its not a hardware issue as if its hardware and need new one i already tried that its software issue and it seems that entire screen is selected when i try to neviggate through the gaming keys. I am still unable to belive that sony ericsson has still not provided any fix for the issue. If anyone has any idea or any third party software for screen please advise.

Dec 15, 2011Recently, we have changed our intertnet providers. Before hand we had AT&T, and when I was connected to wifi via phone it would work perfectly. Now though we have Cox for internet service. My phone is connected to the wifi, but more than half the time does it ever work. In small gaps am I able to connect to the internet with itOther times it's like I might as well not even be on. Any possible reasons?he wifi works fine for other devices in the house. Example as in my laptop. It connects just fine and am always able to access the internet.f my problem is confusing what is happening is that I am connected to the wifi and it shows I am. The wifi status icon is up and shows I have a connection. When I try to access a webpage or app that requires the internet, it will not load at all and sometimes say I do not have any internet access. So while it's "connected" I am unable to access anything and it's as if I'm not even using wifi.
Other details:We have a Motorola Cable Modem: Model SB121A Netgear Dual Broadband Router: Model WNDR3400-100NAS N600And for an extra secruity setting, we have selected the option not to broadcast the wifi so that the only way to connect to it is to know the SSID and connect manually.

Xperia PLAY :: Touchscreen And USB Connection Stopped Working
Apr 28, 2012I recently dropped my phone about 2 feet and the screen cracked a bit in the upper right-hand corner. The phone has been fine for about a week since the incident, no problems at all. Yesterday I noticed there was some slight bugginess with regards to the touchscreen. I turned it off then back on, and it began to be unresponsive entirely, so I put the phone away and ignored it for a minute. I try again and it works just fine. A few minutes later, the same issue happened again, but I had no luck just ignoring it. I am unable to unlock my phone at all. I can still navigate through the power options just fine using the d-pad. I tried connecting it to a computer and to a power source and had no luck with that either. The phone won't charge and won't mount on a computer.

Oct 3, 2015Just yesterday my phone has started to malfunction. A pop up window keeps appearing ''Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped''. I have to click it around 6 times before it stops popping up, this happens frequently every minute.
