BB Curve :: Missing SMS - No Icon, Can't Send Or Receive
Sep 30, 2011
I have a Curve 8530. Yesterday, I lost my SMS icon, was able to send text messages, not able to receive them. I cannot do either now and the icon is still missing. I have tried taking out the battery and restarting. I have tried hooking it up to my computer and deleting & re-installing all apps - as the Telus guy had said to do. I still cannot send SMS. It shouldn't have magically disappeared like that.
My Stats: Blackberry Curve 8310 on AT&T NO Data Plan I have done my research and after about a week of searching I have not been able to come up with an answer Before I knew that my 8310 was not able to get WIFI I deleted my TCP Settings.I re entered my TCP Settings with:
After these settings have been restored I am still unable to send and receive a picture message. Things that I have tried: Battery Pull Uppercase and Lowercase entry for my TCP Settings I considered doing a factory reset but I don't want to lose my brickbreaker high score
I am currently in Canada, Toronto on a business trip but I live in TN and i have never had a problem with my sms until I got here. I have lost my SMS icon and is not able to receive my msg and when i go in to view folder and try to pull up sms inbox I get this message-Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException. I don't know what that means.
Ive recently bought the bb bold 9780, it was working fine the first week. Now all of a sudden, when i switch the phone on, java script error msg's appear, also which is most frustrating,, my inbox icon has disappeared & i cant send or receive messages. I've even taken it to an o2 guru, they were baffled an hadnt seen it before.
I am unable to receive videos via Bluetooth because when I go Media >>>> Media Type >>>> Options, I don't see the "Receive via Bluetooth option. My Bluetooth is turned on and our phones are paired, but the menu option is missing on my phone. What could be wrong, and how can I fix it, will doing a factory reset to reset the phone back to v5 and then reinstalling 6 OS fix this problem.
I have a Curve 9300 and recently upgraded to version 220.127.116.11 app world then after a few days the icon disappeared. I tried to download from the blackberry website but I kept having a message that too many tabs were open (there wasnt) and that the browser needed cleaning (or words to that effect...I think!). I have since received an email from blackberry stating that there was an error with that version and to download version 18.104.22.168 - I cannot download that either. I have tried by connecting to my laptop and downloading from the blackberry site, it states that I cannot download from there and to use the mobile web. I still cannot download from there either. I do have updated software on my curve as it crashed about 3 months ago when removing an app.
My browser icon is missing. As a matter of fact, if I keep the blackberry key pressed. the icon appears but it reads , 'your device does not currently have any browser configuration service book entries. pls contact your service provide. Last whole week I have been with Vodafone (india) guys to sort this problem out.. but in vain. I even got my OS updated. yet the browser in not there. However, my mails and messenger work.
I was wondering if i could get some help I have just updated my blackberry app world to 22.214.171.124 Once it updates it has took the icon off my menu screen and i cant find it I have tried the show all options and it does not show up
i have BB curve 8900 running on v126.96.36.199, i updated FB application, twiiter and BBM. After the upgrade the icons all went missing, under applications its they are there but i cant see them, i have tried unhiding but to no avail.
I have a curve 9300 v5.0 it was working fine I think that it was because I was trying to update to the last version of it, but it didn't work and show some kind of error, after this the bbm was working and the next day the icon was Gonne! I already reboot my phone, wipe it (reset) and started from scratch but nothing seems to work! My icon is not there! When I tried to install blackberry messenger again it said that the application already exist! idk what else to do!!! Can anyone please help me! Also when I tried to work on it form my PC it said that my device has not enough memory!
Ok, my SMS icon has disappeared for no particular reason. Nothing I've seen in other threads is helping. I have an 8330 from NTelos. I also keep getting the "nullpointer" exception after battery pulls.
-It is NOT hidden
-It is NOT combined
-battery pull does nothing
-the software is updated
-'restore theme defaults' did not fix it
-changing from 3rd party theme to stock theme did not fix it
-re-registering with the network did not fix it
-uninstalling/reinstalling BBM does not help
anything else i can reasonably try before i throw it out the window?
I have recently installed FB 188.8.131.52 through the Desktop Application Loader. I installed this version since I do not have a data plan. My problem is that I can't find the FB icon anywhere. I've googled this and tried all the solutions (restart phone, remove battery, change theme, show all applications) but to no avail. I have a BB Curve 8900 with OS 184.108.40.206.
I have just upgraded from an 8520 to a 9360. Originally I moved everything onto my new phone by using desktop manager but there seemed to be a problem with constant rebooting because it didnt like some of the third party apps. I restored the phone to the original settings but although I have Appworld and Bridge in my list of applications there is no icon for them - i have checked by Show All and they are not there. Both showed as icons on my 8520 and worked fine (I have a playbook too which is why I need the Bridge).
I know this question has been asked before but my SMS/Text Message Icon has literally disappeared from my phone. I have rebooted, searched etc and nothing. I had some sort of Java error before this happened.
I recently noticed that my Blackberry App World icon was missing from my home screen. I drilled into each of the sub folders, selecting 'show all' for each, and still could not find the icon. I attempted to re-download the app from the blackberry website using my browser, but was informed that I already had the application on my device. I then attempted to replace the existing version, and still no icon.I then decided to navigate to the application center and remove the app world application. I then navigated back to my browser (cleared the cache) and attempted to download the app. I received a 'download failed' notification, with the details of 'Invalid COD error 907' message (or something to that affect).
Specs: Device: Curve 9300 Carrier: Vodaphone UK OS: 6.0 Bundle (v220.127.116.118, platform 18.104.22.168) App world: v22.214.171.124 (i think)
After installing OS6 on my Blackberry 9300 the icon for Blackberry App World has disappeared. App World is installed in the application list but the icon does not appear on the Home screen even after the show all command.
