BB Curve :: Facebook Mobile Icon In Chat Is Missing?
Sep 21, 2012I have blackberry curve 8900 OS5 and Facebook latest version 3.2.0.12, and when I am log in to facebook with blackberry via wifi I don't have in chat that mobile icon like all my other friends who are using facebook mobile too, only green dot like when you are connected with PC. Can it be because i don't have bis/bes account?

Mar 17, 2012A hard reset (remove the battery while the BB is on) seems to have worked. I say seemed since it has been reported on this board that it may return when the "service books" are updated...I'm new to BBs. I just purchased it today and against my better judgment installed FAcebook (FB). After getting a deluge of mindless drivel pushed to my new BB I decided FB was not coming near my BB again.So I found the icon - menu - delete. I restart the BB as instructed and to my surprise the icon is still there.I tried to move the icon into a folder but I don't know how to move it because the menu button does nothing when I select the icon and press menu.
And there are some FB messages too. I deleted the FB messages - when I check my messages it reports I have no messages in FB ... BUT there is a little FB icon at the top of the screen showing one message. This one message seems to be relic but I have no idea how to reset or delete it.I also tried the BB desktop software. It shows that it is uninstalled. There appears to be no way of deleting icon, moving the icon, or deleting the FB message indicator either.

Jan 1, 2012I have a Curve 9300 and recently upgraded to version 3.1.0.58 app world then after a few days the icon disappeared. I tried to download from the blackberry website but I kept having a message that too many tabs were open (there wasnt) and that the browser needed cleaning (or words to that effect...I think!). I have since received an email from blackberry stating that there was an error with that version and to download version 3.1.0.56 - I cannot download that either. I have tried by connecting to my laptop and downloading from the blackberry site, it states that I cannot download from there and to use the mobile web. I still cannot download from there either. I do have updated software on my curve as it crashed about 3 months ago when removing an app.

As a matter of fact, if I keep the blackberry key pressed. the icon appears but it reads , 'your device does not currently have any browser configuration service book entries. pls contact your service provide. Last whole week I have been with Vodafone (india) guys to sort this problem out.. but in vain. I even got my OS updated. yet the browser in not there. However, my mails and messenger work.

Apr 27, 2011I have a curve 9300 v5.0 it was working fine I think that it was because I was trying to update to the last version of it, but it didn't work and show some kind of error, after this the bbm was working and the next day the icon was Gonne! I already reboot my phone, wipe it (reset) and started from scratch but nothing seems to work! My icon is not there! When I tried to install blackberry messenger again it said that the application already exist! idk what else to do!!! Can anyone please help me! Aug 31, 2010Ok, my SMS icon has disappeared for no particular reason. Nothing I've seen in other threads is helping. I have an 8330 from NTelos. I also keep getting the "nullpointer" exception after battery pulls.
-It is NOT hidden
-It is NOT combined
-battery pull does nothing
-the software is updated
-'restore theme defaults' did not fix it
-changing from 3rd party theme to stock theme did not fix it
-re-registering with the network did not fix it
-uninstalling/reinstalling BBM does not help
anything else i can reasonably try before i throw it out the window?

Jun 3, 2010I have recently installed FB 1.6.0.21 through the Desktop Application Loader. I installed this version since I do not have a data plan. My problem is that I can't find the FB icon anywhere. I've googled this and tried all the solutions (restart phone, remove battery, change theme, show all applications) but to no avail. I have a BB Curve 8900 with OS 4.6.1.199.

Jun 18, 2012I have just upgraded from an 8520 to a 9360. Originally I moved everything onto my new phone by using desktop manager but there seemed to be a problem with constant rebooting because it didnt like some of the third party apps. I restored the phone to the original settings but although I have Appworld and Bridge in my list of applications there is no icon for them - i have checked by Show All and they are not there. Both showed as icons on my 8520 and worked fine (I have a playbook too which is why I need the Bridge).

Sep 30, 2011I have a Curve 8530. Yesterday, I lost my SMS icon, was able to send text messages, not able to receive them. I cannot do either now and the icon is still missing. I have tried taking out the battery and restarting. I have tried hooking it up to my computer and deleting & re-installing all apps - as the Telus guy had said to do. I still cannot send SMS. It shouldn't have magically disappeared like that.

Jun 10, 2011I recently noticed that my Blackberry App World icon was missing from my home screen. I drilled into each of the sub folders, selecting 'show all' for each, and still could not find the icon. I attempted to re-download the app from the blackberry website using my browser, but was informed that I already had the application on my device. I then attempted to replace the existing version, and still no icon.I then decided to navigate to the application center and remove the app world application. I then navigated back to my browser (cleared the cache) and attempted to download the app. I received a 'download failed' notification, with the details of 'Invalid COD error 907' message (or something to that affect).
Specs:
Device: Curve 9300
Carrier: Vodaphone UK
OS: 6.0 Bundle (v6.0.0.448, platform 6.6.0.124)
App world: v2.1.1.19 (i think)

Feb 7, 20121st- When I want to use the facebook through the Facebook Icon (Application) of my BB Curve 9380 phone, sometimes it will be connected and after a few seconds it will cut off. but when i use the browser button to use facebook, it will never cut off. Now, what i want is to fix that application, since i want to use that application compare than using the browser button. Additional: Everytime i get disconnected and when i log in back, here it says to me: if you want to use this application, please call your serivce provider to update your data plan or connect your device to a Wi-Fi connection, ("which i'm already connected").
2nd- My BBM. its not working, I added my friends already,20 of them, and they didnt received request, i gave to them my bar code, and pin, and they invited me, but i dont receive any request.
