BB Curve :: How To Do Back Up
Jun 12, 2011My Blackberry has to go for repair next week and I want to make sure I save everything - photos, contacts etc before it goes so I do not loose everything, How do I do this?

BB Curve :: Doesn't Back-up Process Back Up All These Data?
Apr 25, 2012I am a BES user and recently my account had to be recreated. I had taken a back up of the device from desktop manager. However after restore I find that all the BBM contacts, Bookmarks and Auto-text was not restored.I had spent a lot of time in making all the Auto text relevant to me. Doesn't the back-up process back up all these data?

Jan 18, 2012I make a back-up every time I connect my BB to my laptop. For some reason, after updating an app yesterday, all my pictures and music etc are gone. I tried (multiple times) to upload my latest back-up (from last week, later also earlier version) via desktop software, but it doesn't seem to work. It goes to the process of loading, says it was successful, but when I disconnect my BB is still without pictures. I did a battery pull, switched it off/on a couple of times, but nothing changes. How do I get my files back on my phone?

Mar 18, 2010I have a 8350i through Nextel. A couple of weeks ago my BB shut itself off and then turned itself back on. I did not think much of it until it started happening very frequently. When I say frequently, I mean every 10 minutes. Quite frustrating for a phone that I use for work. I took it to a local service department but they did not know what was going on so they just swiped the software and reloaded it. This resolved the issue for about 24 hours and then it has started again. It was sporadic again with about a day between each one but it has since become a very frequent issue again. It is happening about 5 times a day that I know of.I am currently running Version 4.6.1.313.

May 17, 2010I just had to have Verizon send me my 3rd one since December cause mine keep shutting themselves off and then won't come back on at all. Then I changed batteries from the 1st phone that was left over and put it in the 2nd worked for a little while and then wouldn't send or receive messages or calls. I took the battery out and rebooted it again and I plugged into the computer and did an update and still nothing that's when all of a suddent it shut itself off and wouldn't come back on which is what the 1st one did. Is anyone else having this kind of trouble? Other than this I love my BB but this is the 1st one I have had and it isn't making a good first impression.

Jun 19, 2011If phone is turned off and left overnight, or for a few hours, it won't turn back on even though the battery is fine. To power it back on I need to put it on charge - it then automatically reboots and will work OK.

Nov 22, 2011I have just backed up the data on my Curve 8520 to the PC. It has appeared as a 'Backup-(date).ipd file which is now saved on my PC. However when I try and open this file on the PC to view the addresses, pictures, notes etc that have been saved there from my mobile, Windows will not open the file as it does not have a file association for the ipd file. Seems to me that if I have backed up data from my phone to the PC, I should be able to view the data on the PC just as I do on the phone.

Jul 29, 2012I've had a Blackberry Curve 9330 for 6 month now and the battery is causing me problems.About one month ago, the device started to reset every time is received the slightest shock. I looked at the battery and one of the four metal terminals had some dried acid on it. I cleaned it up and put the battery back. Today, after I sent an SMS, my BB showed a symbol of a battery with a red "X" on it. I opened the phone and two of the four battery and phone terminals had changed color, but they were clean.Now my phone doesn't work anymore. It just shows a battery with the red "X" icon.

Dec 29, 2011This is my first time using the blackberry forums I have hope you can help me find a resolution to this problem. I have a blackberry 8520 I have an old backup file from June 2012 which I restored because it should have the old text messages I want back on my phone the problem is that trying to restore this gave an error message half way through the restore "unable to restore database" after trying this a few times I then updated the Blackberry Desktop Manager to latest version and it now lets me restore the backup file. The problem now is that it does not have the messages that should be there, and also the messages that are in my inbox have an overview as normal but selecting it displays a blank screen with no message history also another issue is that I have the icons on my home screen showing I have a unread sms messages but I am unable to view these in my inbox they are not there. I do not understand what is happening here this should be a simple restore but there is a number of issues here can anyone advise me how to go about fixing this Eagerly waiting for a response Kind Regards

Feb 19, 2011I used to get emails on my blackberry curve (8520). I seem to remember getting emails from Blackberry (or maybe vodafone) saying I needed to click on a link or something to say I wanted to continue using the service (this happened about a year into using them). I never did this because at the time I was not longer using emails, so I just let it expire (or whatever).Anyway, I was wondering I would now turn the email address back on. I have tried setting up a new account (with the same email address), but it won't let me as that email address is still registered (obviously!). Anyone have any ideas how to do it? Also, my email password has changed since then. Will that make a difference?
Also, whilst I am here, on the top of my phone's screen on the top left hand corner (kinda central though!) I have a 1 with a black circle next to it with an arrow inside the circle point kind of downwards (about 8 o clock direction). Does anyone know what this is about and how to get rid of it? I seems to related to my Blackberry App World in the 'My World' section. It asks me for my email address and password, but obviously I don't have it set up. Pressing cancel won't get rid of it!
BB Curve :: It Turned Off And Won't Turn Back On
Dec 7, 2012I had my phone on charge all night as per usual and i woke up to a white screen. I thought nothing of it as it has done this loads before so i took the battery out and put it back in and it worked. I then went to get a drink and when i returned my phone was off. It wont turn back on no matter what i do. I have tried taking the battery out and putting it back in, i have tried charging it and i have tried leaving the battery out for a while before putting it back in and nothing. I even tried the 4h15m process and it didn't work. I woke up this morning and it still won't do anything.

May 30, 2012I have downloaded the blackberry desktop software to update my software then plugged in my phone. It automatically begins to back up but freezes at RMS databases 12 of 13 records. I ctrl, alt, del to end program then have to take my battery out of phone to get it to work again. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the desktop software but it just keeps freezzing. The problem I have is that it turns it self off and when It should come on in the morning it fails to turn back on, now I plug my phone into power to find out the battery has drain through the night even when switch off, this is a massive pain because I use it has my alarm clock as well but bed cause of this problem the alarm isn't going off.
