Mar 31, 2010I updated to 5.0, it's ok, not great. One problem i have is my lock icon is now gone, i preferred to lock my phone this way and not use the lock button on the top left. To get it back, i enabled a password. Then it came back. So i figured i would just disable it and the icon would still be there and functional like it was with 4.7, it's not, it dissapears again.Is there anyway to get the icon back where i can just hit * and the phone icon to unlock, I know this is minor, but it is what I like.Also, with 5.0 my standby mode is not working anymore, any thoughts?*on a side note, I'm not a fan of my BBM and SMS looking a like and co-mingling when I have someone as a contact and BBM contact, just a preference.can someone get my lock icon back working without a password?

Mar 29, 2010Each time my phone has to restart or reboot, my email icon which is AOL(green envelope w/ a blue AOL/logo @ bottom of envelope) disappears and the standard icon appears in home screen. Before to get it back, i go to email setup and delete it then add it back, then AOL icon returns. Now doing it the same way, my green AOL icon does not return anymore! just the standard one, can anybody help on how to get it back? Please!!Thanks!!

Apr 17, 2010I just had a buzzing noise coming from the top back of my phone and i was wondering what it was. I have a Blackberry Curve 8530 from sprint. It was kinda weird because even after turning the phone off it was still doing it. I decided to take the battery out and put it back in and see if it was going to still do it. After doing that, it didn't do it no more but im still wondering what it was that caused it. When i was messing with the phone before it started doing it i was playing music and then stopped it. The battery was on half. Could someone please tell me what caused this. I just got the phone from sprint and i really don't want to take it back.

Jul 8, 2010Being a CDMA user for so many years, I enjoyed nice voice clarity on almost any phone. 4-5 days back I have switched to GSM with 8520. Everything is nice but I'm experiencing very odd problem. I really don't know whether it is my mind playing a trick or it is true.
When talking over the phone, I feel the sound from other end is compressed...muffled... whatever you call it but its not clear as I used to get it on my CDMA network. I have tried enhancing options with boosting treble but not much difference. My ears feel pressurized while talking. I have told my wife to check the clarity but she is ok with it. For CDMA conection I'm using Samsung SCH-S379. Its very basic yet very clear compare to 8520.
I'm running on pre loaded 4.6 OS. My phone is made in Hungery 3 and its January 2010 make. Not yet activated BES/BIS. Does upgrading OS to 5.0 helps in improving earpiece voice clarity ?? do we have any other adjustments ?? is there always a difference in voice clarity in GSM and CDMA ??

Jul 26, 2010I bought a Sprint 8330 from a guy on Craigslist, and it worked fine until my girlfriend freaking wiped my phone trying to guess my password. So I got on crackberry and followed the instructions from Lecture 12 of the BB 101 and got it up and running again. Or so I thought.. Now, I have no browser icon whatsoever, and all of my MMS options are gone. I believe the phone had OS4.3 before because now all of my home screen stuff looks different along with my inbox. I just wanna have my MMS and Internet back. Should I go back to 4.3? Or is this something really easy that I just don't know because I'm a first time BB user? Help pls?
Also! I had the phone flashed over to work with Cricket Mobile. I doubt that has anything to do with it though considering my MMS and internet still worked then.

Aug 19, 2010My phone phone turn off by itself about 3 hrs ago. It will not turn back on, the icd light is flashing red. Seems like to me it's flashing 2 longer flashes then 2 small one straight away. Continuously repeats this with 20/30 seconds between each. I have tried plugging it into my laptop but is not connected.

Aug 3, 2015Around a week ago I used a friends 'selfie stick'. The same day I was walking around Windsor and noted that the phone had powered down. I tried pressing the power key, but the phone did not turn on. I took the battery out, replaced it and then the phone came back on.
The problem now seems to reoccur when I have put my phone in my back pocket and either walk some distance, or keep it in my back pocket in the car (for some reason).
