BB Curve :: Can't Access Apps When Connected With Linksys
May 15, 2011
My phone successfully connected to my Linksys router and my browser is working due to the hotspot option. However I'm unable to access the internet with any of my other apps. The three key apps I'd like to connect to are Windows Live Messenger, AOL Messenger and my e-mail (Hotmail).
After updating my phone to android 2.1,I'm unable to access my gmail and other apps thru. wifi. I have the wifi symbol at the top which clearly shows that the wifi is connected, but when I try to access gmail, android market and other apps.,it gives me message stating "no network connection".
A month ago my bbm ran out, they sent me a few texts saying we have tried and failed to take £5 for bbm (vodafone) i was then opted out of Blackberry services. Two days ago, i topped up £15 pounds rang them up and opted back in. They took my £5 and left me stranded, i cant access bbm or internet, when i login to blackberrys mobile site i get a pop up saying this "Your blackberry R internet service account is suspended or de-activated please contact 191" bla bla bla. Well i done that and they said they can't do anything about it. I followed the steps on vodafones troubleshooting i.e regerstering host etc* all failed .
When my Blackberry curve 9320 is connected to either my BT home hub wifi or a wifi hotspot, I cannot access the internet because I get the following message:Communication failure if this problem persisits contact your service provider.
For a number of days now my phone has been taken off the BlacBerry network and I cannot access Internet or BlackBerry Messenger on my phone. I have gprs instead of GPRS showing on my phone. It is a BlackBerry Curve 8520. I have already subscribed to T-mobile for 6 months Internet access but can't connect. How do I connect to the BlackBerry service?
I am having problems accessing anything that has been download using Blackberry apps, such as facebook , blackberry apps world, this is only a recent problem after having my phone for a year, I have tried taking the battery out whilst the phone is switched on. When the phone reboots a message comes up as follows " Uncaught exception index 4>=4" I can get onto the internet as I am still receiving e-mails. Also this tends to resolve itself if I am away from my address.
My BB9300 curve runs with OS5, and I'musing airtel India carrier. I don't have BIS plan,I'm using normal gprs plan to run third partyapps like opera and whatsapp. These apps works well with gprs, but theproblem is, it suddenly stops working sayingthat no internet connection is available. Then tofix this I've 2 do a battery pull(hard reset) everytime.I've also upgraded to OS6, but the above problem still remains. In my observation this problem is maximum whenever I'm travelling and where the network connection will disconnect and reconnect frequently.
my bold 9780 doesn't detect the wifi of my router. The wireless router is a cisco linksys E2000. First I thought the wifi of the cellphone was broke, but when I walk down the street I pick up every single wifi signal there is. I've adjusted the safety settings of the router from WPA to WPA2 to WEP, didn't work. I've read somewhere that it could be that I had to install a certificate to be able to see the modem, but where do I get that?
I have recently migrated to the Desire HD from Nokia E71. And while Im in awe of every new feature I discover with each passing second, theres a problem with the wifi system thats driving me nuts.
My DHD recognises and connects to my home wifi (Linksys E1000) but is unable to browse or run any app that requires internet access (Facebook, Twitter, Maps etc). At the same time, upon disabling wifi, it manages to do everything (browse, FB, twitter etc) on the GPRS connection of my teleco. Hence the problem (I think) is with the router and not the DHD.
I have spent a whole day looking for possible solutions on the web - upgraded to Linksys E1000 from my earlier WRT54G, Changed the channel from 13 to 6 (and experimented with others as well), Reserved the DHD in the DHCP of the router, Changed the security to WPA2 PSK - In short, almost everything I read would fix the problem, but to no avail.
I recently bought the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music and tried to connect to the internet via my Linksys ADSL wireless router. As i have added MAC Filtering to keep wireless network safe, i tried to add my 5800's MAC in the filter list. but when i tried to save the settings an error message popped up saying "The MAC address cannot be the Multipart Address.".Any thoughts on what that means? or what should i do?The connection works fine if i dont apply the MAC filtering. It is might be some problem at router end.
I currently have a curve 9300, and my service provider is Telus Mobility. I am connected to wifi and up till about 3 days ago everything was working fine, now it shows I am connected, but I can only get on internet for about 5 mins, I have to shut off all my connections then reconnect them for it to work again.
my mom's Wifi is called Linksys and I had added to the list of Wifi's to automatically connect to.
Well, it just happens that "Linksys" is also the name of other hundreds of Wifi's all over the place, and my E6 keeps on trying to connect to them. I have tried many times to disconnect from this network but the phone attempts reconnecting right away.
How can I completely remove Linksys off the list of connectable networks? The main problem is that sometimes I am at a place with this Linksys network and the phone thinks it is supposed to be connecting to it but in reality it cant (maybe secured?) and I end up with no connection because the phone thinks it is connecting to Linksys.
I am having BB Torch3 (9860), My device searchs the Wi-Fi Networks and gets connected but doesn't opens the page it shows check the internet service provider.
i have high copy S5 phone kittkat version 4.4.2 c onnected to wi-fi but no internet access at all and i am using wi-fi hotspot from my computer. and the software i am using is Baidu Wi-fi hotspot and it works on all other devices including my friends laptop computer and all my friends are using internet over the wi-fi but not me, not at all!!
Just came back from work and tried to connect to my WiFi... It said connected but no internet access.. checked on my PC.. its working fine.. Restarted my phone still no luck.. Checked other phones in my house.. htc one m8, iphone6/ 5... all working fine. I check my Nexus 7 and Nexus 6 and its the same as my 6P.. connected but no internet access..
My internet connection on my Samsung Galaxy s5 shows that it is connected and strong - both at home and at work. However I cannot connect to the internet in either location.
I get a message that says DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET.
My laptop and other devices that connect to the WIFI are getting on the internet just fine. This problem just started this morning. I re-booted my router at home but that did not work. I eliminated my home network and then re-connected to it, but that did not work.
my iphone 4 (verizon) is connected to my home wifi but it's not working! when i go on Internet is says that it cannot connect, same with any other app that requires internet. it has the wifi symbol and everything. what's weird is that when i turn off my wifi (then 3g symbol replaces the wifi symbol) i am able to connect perfectly! i've tried all i can think of to fix this. restoring, rebooting, turning off and on again, forgetting my network then connecting to it again but nothing works!
Recently i moved to Saudi for a project related work and I am staying in an apartment where they provide the wifi. first 2 days I was able to connect to the wifi and internet was working fine. After that my phone will detect the wifi in my room and it will connect to the wifi, but no internet access. And the same time it is working fine with the wifi in my office. So i did the Factory data reset, but still its not working. My friends are using different android phones and they are able to access the internet, even I can use my laptop to connect to the wifi.
I own an iPhone 3GS, and have recently upgraded it to iOS 6.1.6. I was able to connect to Wi-Fi using a Netgear Cable Modem with WiFi capability. But the internet service provider upgraded this equipment, replacing it with an ARRIS Touchstone Data Gateway DG1670 cable modem with Wi-Fi capability. Unfortunately, I have discovered that I'm unable to access the Internet while connected to Wi-Fi, while using my iPhone 3GS, running iOS 6.1.6. I am completely able to connect my MacMini, a smart-TV, and an iPhone 5 to this ARRIS device with Wi-Fi. Â
I have contacted my internet service provider and they tell me that the problem is with my iPhone 3GS, not with their equipment. We very meticulously went through all the troubleshooting steps, but to no avail. I have also read all the Apple Knowledge Base articles here about configuring an iPhone 3GS properly, and I have also followed Apple Knowledge Base articles concerning optimal configuration of an internet modem with Wi-Fi capability. Â
I like my iPhone 3GS, it works well, but now I cannot sync it to iCloud, and now I must have Wi-Fi turned off to make it usable. I also understand that iOS 6.1.6 will be the last upgrade for the iPhone 3GS. If this is true, then I'm sadly disappointed with Apple's inability to keep up with technology.
This problem has persisted since day one with this phone, and has been an issue through all software updates. My phone is currently running the latest OTA software update from Verizon: 4.5.605.MB810.Verizon.en.us. The phone will connect to WiFi access points. It never seems to have trouble finding or negotiating a connection to a WiFi network. I can connect to open networks, WPA, WPA2, etc. I can connect to b/g/n no problem.
However, after using the network for a while, it always fails. The connection will suddenly stop working, and apps will start to claim that the network isn't available. The phone continues to think that it is connected to WiFi, but no data will flow. The only way to fix the problem is to disable to WiFi radio and turn it back on. The failure seems to be triggered by a volume of data. If I connect to a network and then don't download much, it seems to last longer (time-wise) than if I immediately start a download.
Different access points seem to trigger the problem sooner than others. I have a business-class HP Procurve 802.11n access point that will lock-up the phone almost immediately. I also have a consumer-grade Linksys 802.11g access point that will work for much longer, but still leads to failure. Suggestions to disable wifi encryption are NOT acceptable. Suggestions to disable wireless-N are NOT acceptable.
