Aug 19, 2010I've been using BBerry for a while. Not new.After the last 'upgrade' to Blackberry App World I couldn't use it anymore.When it's installed there is no icon. When removed the icon appears.When I click on icon it directs me to download App World. And the cycle starts over again.Curve 8530. Sprint.v5.0.0.459..No it's not hidden. Jun 29, 2010So, I've bought a brand new Curve 8530 from Koodo Mobile, it's running OS v5.0.0.654, and I can't seem to be able to attach my blackberry to any email address at all. I've tried a number of addresses and providers, short reboots [alt+rshift+del], battery pulls, updates, and shouting, but none of them seem to make my phone want to allow me to use email.
In addition to this, I can't seem to get access to the blackberry App World at all either. I've tried the same methods as above, in addition to uninstalling, and then reinstalling App world using the desktop software for windows. Am I missing something, or has Koodo locked out my main reason for purchasing this wonderful device?
If you've got any ideas on how to solve either of these issues, please, let me know, as I've racked my brain, and these forums, and I don't seem to be making any progress.Curve 8530 OS v5.0.0.654 on Koodo Mobile

Nov 9, 2011Just got my Blackberry Curve 8530 yesterday. I can not get on AppWorld. Message states "Blackberry AppWorld is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App Server. Verify your internet connection and try again (error30637). I am able to get to Google through the internet browser, so I don't understand why I can't get into AppWorld. I have called my provider (Cricket) to make sure I have a plan that includes the Blackberry Browser and have been told yes.

May 15, 2011I have a Blackberry Curve 8520 and am with Virgin Media and everything was working perfectly until yesterday when I was asked to download the latest version of the Blackberry App World. This I did and then rebooted my phone as directed. I then went to the Blackberry App World icon, on my phone, to download an App, but the icon had disappeared. I looked in the Downloads file and everywhere else on the phone but it was nowhere.I checked the Applications file in Advanced Options and Blackberry App World version 2.1215 was there.I checked the Service Book and Blackberry App World was there and active. I tried redownloading but got the message that the App World was already installed. I reinstalled but still no difference. I went to the App World via the Blackberry Browser, on my phone, and tried to download an App but got the message 'item you selected cannot be displayed do you wish to save' I selected no and got the message 'unsupported med type: application x-bb-appworld'. I have now tried various combinations of downloading, deleting in Applications, rebooting but nothing works. I have access to all my Apps and all are working.

My network is Three (3)
I have tried a hard boot many times, also tried "registering the network" and got to "sending service books" and couldn't get passed the "e-mail accounts setup" because it says "your device had a problem connecting to the server".

When I open the browser and type an address, it just says that I should be in a WI-FI zone and to check this, or something along those lines. How do I get onto the Internet without using WI-FI??? I am on a 30 day rolling contract with Orange who give me 500MB of internet as part of my bundle.
