When I receive a call from someone in my contact list, only the phone number appears on my screen. Have I loaded these contacts incorrectly? Is there some set-up option I can change to make caller ID work properly?
View 3 RepliesI had the tour first and since upgrading to .732 since the BOLD has the same software and i now have the bold 9650-verizon. When my phone rings the last callers name will come up first then automatically change to current caller.Has this been happening to anyone?

It did work at one time and possibly I changed a setting somewhere but I'm not able to backtrack my steps. When I initiate the call any picture I have for that contact shows but not when the call is coming in.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just installed a Sony XNV-770BT in dash Nav/Receiver with bluetooth capability in my vehicle. Both my wife and I have the iPhone 4S with AT&T. The caller id name/number will show up on the iphone, but will not pass through to the Sony unit, until after you answer the call. (This of course defeats the whole purpose of caller id!) Before you answer the call it says "Withheld", which is the Sony term for blocked, I guess.
It seems that there are quite a few issues with various iphones not passing the caller id info through to bluetooth devices, but I have not been able to find a solution to my specific problem. I called Sony and they offered to send me a new unit after I remove the one I just installed and return it to them, because they said the caller id feature is supposed to work with the iphone 4s. But this is a lot of trouble to go through only to find out the new unit acts the same way and it is really an iphone issue. The caller id pass through does not work with either mine or my wife's phone - I did the recent iOS 5.1 update and my wife has not. Here are the bluetooth profiles that the Sony unit supports:

Thinking that I can downsize from two smartphones into one. Unfortunately, this is not going as well as planned.I am a small business owner and needing the ability to silence the ringer on incoming calls; except for those from certain contacts that I need to be audible after-hours...I've gone into Smart Actions and done the following:Create a new rule "from scratch" named "After Hours"The only trigger is "Timeframe" and specified as the following:
Mon, Tue, Wed & Thu from 8pm until 8am.Fri from 1pm until 11:59pm.Weekends: Sat & Sun (all day)Actions are specified as the following:Ringer Volume is specified as "Silent"VIP Caller Mode: and the specified contacts I wish to activate an audible ringer during the specified times listed during the timeframe trigger are in this list. Ringer volume is set to MAX and the vibrate option is selected/active.The rule has been successfully saved and is showing as being active as we are currently in the time specified for this rule to trigger.Now the heart of the issue: After receiving a call from a number that is not on the VIP list, my RAZR MAXX will no longer sound an audible ring on ANY incoming calls until the "After Hours" rule timeframe has passed. My personal mobile is in the VIP caller list as a way for me to test the audible ringer. A test call from my mobile phone does activate an audible ringer and the phone vibrates.Now, if I receive a call from a business customer while the After Hours rule is activated, of course the phone does not ring nor vibrate. The phone only lights up for the duration of the ring time until the caller is sent to voicemail.After receiving the call from the business customer, I placed a test call from my personal smartphone. Incoming calls from this my personal mobile WOULD trigger an audible ringer previous to receiving a call from a number that was NOT on the VIP list. Now, the phone remains silent, no vibrate alert, no audible ringer. The phone only illuminates until the call is routed to voicemail.
I've tried basic troubleshooting: uninstall updates and reinstall updates for the Smart App. Have deleted and recreated the Smart App rules. Restarted the phone. Nothing seems to work...Could someone please give me a clue as to what may be the "smoking gun" for this. A quick search of the web features others that had mentioned the same issue with their handsets but no real resolution to this problem. And, I really would like to be able to use this feature of the new device, otherwise I just purchased a new $300 phone to carry around beside my Droid X. In that case, I may as well just return the MAXX and return to my previous Droid X.

I have a Unlocked Tour 9630 which I am now using with FIDO . Everything on the phone seems to work EXCEPT . CALLER ID , which is driving me nuts , not knowing whose call I missed.
80% of people calling the phone it will say "UNKNOWN CALLER" . There are only a few of my contacts that their name will appear when calling . The rest of my contacts, although I have their numbers saved in my phone will still appear as "UNKNOWN"
I've done everything from , changing around my Smart Dialing to include my area code and canada as the country code . Encryption is disabled on the phone.
The Phone was originally Set up with VERIZON .

And now imessage has stopped working. Orange (his carrier) is now sending us emails about our "multimedia message". Imessage was working when it was set just to his phone number.

I bought two iphones 4s for my children. One chose a 16 GB model and the other a 32 GB one. This is the only difference between the two units. One child reports no problems with receiving calls that display caller-id while the other one (with the 32 GB unit) has been given the run around by Sprint people. The Sprint techs blame it as an Apple problem or even a defective unit. The unit was exchanged for another one, fresh off the box and the problem still persists. Can anybody clarify what is going on with this situation? Is this a carrier problem, manufacturer problem, iOS problem, or what?

I purchased a iphone from malaysia few months back, then I moved to united kingdom. Herhe in UK I can do the setting in the iphone to hide my caller id. settings->Phone->show my caller Id.
When I call local numbers with in UK the reciever of call is not able to see my number "BLOCKED" appears to the caller. however when I call to someone in India then the reciever is able to see my number on the phone.

This is my first bb and I love it to bits...I have noticed that today whenever i receive a call I have the same caller id showing as the first person that rang me after I switched my phone on this morning...and that was my wife...so I have been answering "hi gorgeous" to everyone all day!

I just bought a 5800 Xpressmusic and am going through the learning phase of how to use this phone. So far pretty pleased with what I have figured out how to use but have run into a couple problems. Not sure if I have set up something wrong or if there may be something wrong with the phone. The first problem is the touch screen functions (i.e. answer, silence, options, reject) do not work when I get a call. So sometimes when I hit the "green" button if will connect, but sometimes it will hang up on whomever was calling. I am using AT&T as my provider. The second problem that I am having now is playing music. It used to work, but now it will not play any songs that I have loaded thorough Ovi program. Even the "back" function key is non-responsive, however, the "option" function key does work.

If someone calls me on a land line the caller id works great and name appears as in my contact list. If someone calls me on a cell phone I get unknown number. I have tried battery pull and tried changing encryption or the smart dialing settings.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am getting constant calls from a telemarketer, the phone number is 509.221.3648, the first time they called I told the telemarketer I wasn't interested in the sex pills they were selling, now they call me non stop(I went on google, sounds like this agency does the same thing to tons of people).I wish I could reject the caller, but I've been told the best option is to create a contact and make an exception so that whenever they call me the my phone doesn't ring.
