View 4 RepliesAfter upgrading to OS 5 on my BB storm 9500 caller id contact wont show on screen when I receive a call, I just can see the number but not the "contact name" stored under "contacts" I tried puttin my country code at the beginning of the number and that fixed the issue with the sms but with the caller ID just displays the number without the name....

They had me do everything including delete all my service books and now there is nothing in the host routing table. They finally said, we cant help. My phone is stuck on lower case edge and I cant get data.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble trying to use the Voice Dialing feature on my phone.It used to work fine, but now any time I try to access the Voice Dialing, it goes to to the Voice Dialing screen, and it starts Initializing/syncing, but it just backs out back to the main screen.I've tried using convenience keys and the touch screen to access Voice Dialing.Nothing works.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI purchased an unlocked Telus Storm 2 - 9550. Currently using this phone on the Rogers network. Phone works great, but caller id does not fully work. If someone calls me on a land line the caller id works great and name appears as in my contact list. If someone calls me on a cell phone I get unknown number. I have tried battery pull and tried changing encryption or the smart dialing settings.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought the Blackberry Strom 2 9550 from Ebay(Verizon wireless Unlocked) and I am using this in Saudi Arabia on the Mobily Network(a Local Service Provider).I have subscribed into the BIS plan and have set up the email and everything works fine, But I cant see the BB maps(I have tried the show all on the homescreen but still nothing) application to use the GPS Maps (I dont know if this could be used). The only application it does have is the VZNavigator which I believe works only in the U.S, Is there an alternate application that I can install to use GPS Navigation(Google maps doesnt work either)? Or is there device software for Saudi Arabia that has all relevant applications?
Secondly when I do try to login through the Facebook allplication it says connection error, is there anything I can do about this.
In Blackberry Messenger the keyboard will not appear on the Storm 2. When you're in a group chat or individual chats the keyboard does not appear when you click inside the text box or choose show keyboard from the menu. I've heard this from a few other people I know that have the Storm 2. This is very frustrating. Please help!!!!!!!

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn Vodafone in UK, and my Storm worked fine with the old App world. Then the new version came out. I've downloaded it umpteen times, and have created a BB ID. I log in correctly into App world on the Storm, and I just get the "loading" screen and cannot get past this. This has been going on for weeks. I thought there was a fault with the phone, but the store manager said he has been having exactly the same problem and that it is a problem at the BB end of things. When will RIM get this sorted out?
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know what could possibly be wrong with my BlackBerry Storm 9500?Just recently went to the UK and internet was working fine and now I'm back in Australia the internet wont work at all. It says "You are currently not in an area that can handle data communication. As a result the browser cannot retrieve any web pages" This happens even when Im in full reception and where I would have been prior to leaving!?
Usually I just turn it off and take the battery out but this time it doesnt work. I have no idea what to do or anything about the network etc.
I recently got a Storm 2 9550. Verizon is service provider. BB Maps was working OK when I got it.
Last week I upgraded to 5.0.0.607. Now BB Maps shows only a yellow screen with no maps. I have tried everything I could on the boards, reinstalled a couple times. Still no luck.
so as the title says, i was able to go on car forums and such from my blackberrry storm ver. 1 with the v5.0 software.it was working like a charm and better than before and one day it just decided not to work anymore. does anyone else have the same issues / any solutions to fix this? i can go into the forum, but not the thread itself. it just comes up as blank.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having a little trouble with my storm 9500's touch screen. There's a part of my screen that won't work. At the beginning I thought that the screen was malfunctioning or it was broken but for some reason when I connect my device to my PC the part that is not working changes and the part that was not working before is working. There are times when the entire screen is not working and there are times when the entire screen is working properly. I tried to reinstall the software of my device by wiping the memory and then installing the os using Loader but it didn't work at all.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my 9500's OS to 5.0.0.425 post which I haven't been able to bring up the keyboard by swiping my finger from the bottom of the screen to the middle. However when I try to swipe it down, the keyboard does disappear. Is this a common problem with the 5.0.0.425 or is it just me who is unlucky?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am a brand new user to Blackberry so I still don't know all the ins and outs, I'm hoping someone here can help me out.I have a Storm2 that is about 2 weeks old, it has been working great up until yesterday when the lock screen button just stopped working. I am referring to the method of tapping the power button on the top left to add and remove the lock.The power button still works to turn the phone on etc, but just wont lock the screen. As you can imagine this makes life very difficult with a touch screen phone.

I called Verizon Tech Support and they just ended up giving me a brand new Storm 2 for free! All I had to do was re-sign my contract for another two years. Gonna miss my Storm 1 but the Storm 2 is sweet! Just got it today. Anyone wanting to upgrade, try using that excuse.

I tried downgrading the software and found I could send mms again.Is there any way of fixing it so i can have the newest version of software on my Blackberry and still be able to send mms?

View 8 Replies View RelatedHas a Storm and it just shut off on. When I pull the battery, the red light comes on for a few seconds and the screen and buttons light up. Then, it starts over. 20 minutes later and it's still in that same cycle.
It's rocking Verizon's official 5.0 and she doesn't do anything to modify or hack it. I've never encountered this before.
I'm wondering if the OS became corrupt, but we're @ Red Lobster and there's nothing I can do now.
I'm having problem with my storm phone ever since it was dropped in water. I left it to dry for a week. Since then I replaced my battery and the phone came on with the clock and then the screen showed up. and could not do anything. Then the screen went black. Now when I try to recharge it only a green light appears and nothing else. Did I kill my battery and is the phone no longer good or it's just my screen and i can replace it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am a customer of Verizon Wireless in the USA and have recently had a brand new phone sent to me. I live in Canada so I have to manually activate my phone. I have no problems doing the manual activation to allow me to make and receive calls. However, I cannot register my phone to get my data usage set up. After hours of troubleshooting over the phone with Verizon, they've some up with the conclusion that I have to be in the US, and on the Verizon network to register the phone. I have always been on the global data plan. So, basically right now I'm with a smartphone that has zero smartphone capabilities. is another way to get this phone activated.

This happens after its been on the charger all night. The only way to fix it is to use quickpull. Which i have set to re-boot everyday at 5am.. Could my battery be going bad or what?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo my old, wine covered Storm is gone and I got a brand new replacement from Telus today. Hurray! I backed up the old phone and restored it backup on the new one, but all my third party apps are gone (Telus told me that they should transfer, but I was skeptical). Is there anyway to get these back without having to re-download them all? There's two or three that I actually paid for... it would suck to have to re-buy them!
I'm looking at BlackBerry Desktop Manager, and there's an option to import 3rd party apps from the old phone to the new one, but you need to have both phones at the same time I think. Not too handy!
For the past 4 or 5 days I am waking up to find my 4 E-Mail accounts wiped off my Storm. I add them again and by the nex day they are all gone again. I went to a Verzon Service center and they were at a loss as what to do. They suggested I go home and call a Verizon tech to walk me through a hard reset. I insisted on calling from the store which clearly irrritated the employees there. When I spoke to the tech at the 800 number she was incredulous that they wouldn't help me at the store. She asked to speak to the supervisor there. They had a short conversation and he hung up and said I need to do a hard reset but the store policy is not to do that.
So, I went home and calle dtech support again and did the hard reset and reset my 4 email accounts. This was last night. This morning 2 of my accounts were deleted from the phone and the other two, while there were non-functional. The E-Mail setup function was gone from my phone. I had to do a restore to get it back and reset my accounts again. I'm guessing my only recourse is to go back to a verizon store again and insist on yet another replacement? I'm really beginning to hate Verizon.
