BB Curve :: 9300 Apps Do Not See Internet Connection?
Aug 12, 2011
I got Curve 9300 OS 5, not connected to BB services. I installed IM+, Gmail, Google sync (during installation i allowed all access options). When running any of the apps first time (after installing) connection tru 3G or WiFi is OK. Usually i turn off 3G to save battеry.When i run an app next time - it requires internet connection (Curve 930 internet access is OK. Then - the same problem. What can i change in Curve 9300 settings to solve the problem?
I have a BB 9300 with a preinstalled OS 5.0 as I connect it to a the Blackberry Desktop software it prompted me to upgrade to OS 6.0. now my problem is during upgrading and downloading of modules my internet connection went off several times and error has occurred, now as I connect my 9300 to my laptop the desktop software cannot detect the unit and an error stating that my BB is rebooting thus I cannot connect with the software. What can I do to upgrade my software.
i've made my wifi connection on my Curve 9300 nd I can see the network on the screen but when I want to connect my phone on the Internet with my wifi connection, it's seems the only way is having an abonment which includes data, what's I haven't. Can connect my phone on the by wifi or not ?
I dont have a data plan (edge/gprs/3G). I would like to connect my Nokia C5 to internet to download applications from the Nokia Ovi Store. Is it possible to connect it to internet over USB or Bluetooth using my home internet access (DSL)?If so, how do I configure my phone and computer to share internet?
This is getting really anoying. From time to time, any of the apps I use (from the official Internet browser, to Foursqure, Opera Mini, Gmail, or any other that need Internet access for that matter) don't even give me the dialogue to chose an Internet connection. I just get a message: Unable to connect to Internet.
I'm pretty sure all my settings are ok, especially because this happens sometimes (from never per day to always per day/session) and there are no rules when it starts working again. Sometimes it needs a few phone restarts, sometimes it just need some time.
So basically, the applications don't try to evoke Internet access. Even if I already have a constant Wi-Fi connection, they still don't see it "or even try to do so by asking".
A weird thing has started happening on my 5800 in that certain apps seem to have started failing to connect to the internet. If I use the browser then I get the connection choice menu i.e. WAP or WiFi, but certain applications have stopped giving this choice and therefore just sit there doing nothing. The only way I can get them to do anything is by connecting to a WiFi point first via settings then starting the application. This is okay when I'm near a WiFi point but it means cannot use these application properly on the move. The apps that are affected are Gmail, Googlemaps and Forcea Weather.
If anyone has any idea on how to fix this then I would be grateful for your help.
I bought my blackberry 9300 curve about a year ago, but since two months, my blackberry crashes a lot. I was running on the newest os 6 version, but when it kept crashing I downgraded it to v220.127.116.117. But it still crashes. Today I figured out that if I turn off my wireless connection it won't crash.
Trying to synchronise my Curve 9300 with MS Outlook 2010 through USB connection, I am required to turn off wireless synchronization first. When I follow the BB instructions for this I find I cannot trun off wirelesss sync for calendar. I select calendar, menu, options, but do not get the field with the wireless on/off checkbox the instructions refer to. I can't find it anywhere.
When i use internet access (for example) the phone stop although the battery is OK. To switch it on, i must remove the battery for a few minuts. Or i must plug the phone on the sector and then it works ok.I have changed the battery. I have already the same problem. I asked support to Orange but i bought the phone 18 months ago so there's no more warranty. They said that blackberry warranty is 1 more year after the one year Orange warranty.
Just acquired a new blackberry 9300. Trying to set up e-mail, followed the Blackberry demo screens but I'm not getting the options demo'd. My phone isn't letting me choose between an Internet e-mail Account and an Enterprise )work related) account, so all I'm getting is an Enterprise set up, asking for an activation code. No idea how to get round this. Any ideas how i can get access to the internet mail set up.
i am using curve 9300 3G, I am unable to use Internet on my device. I am able to use my enterprise mails, personal mails, BBM, and other applications available in my handset. It is just that Internet does not work.. My OS is version 6 .another colleague of mine who is using OS version 5 had a similar problem but it got resolved after he changed browser settings in Advanced Options- browser- Default Browser configuration- changed from Blackberry browser to Internet Browser - after that again browser options and select all ( support Java script, allow java script pop ups, terminate slow running scripts, show images, use background images, support embedded media) after that Cache options, clear all ( content cache, pushed content, cookie chache) . There after he went to host routing table and register .. Post which after hard boot he was able to access Internet. My problem is my OS version is 6 and I do not have advanced options tab in my handset and hence I am unable to change settings.

I just purchased my blackberry curve on virgin mobile less than a week ago. But i started looking over the internet and saw that the new Curve 9300 might be released as early as august. I wondering should I like ask Virgin if they'll let me upgrade once it comes out since I just bought my phone or just return the phone and wait till the new curve comes out. Or I was thinking that I use a return the blackberry and use a loaner phone then buy the curve 9300 for the 3 year contract price when it comes out
I just bought an Impressions 9.7 tablet with and Android 2.3 operating system (I can't afford the BlackBerry PlayBook). I would like to be able to use my BlackBerry as an internet connection, when a WI-FI is not available. Do you offer a way to do this (like your Desktop software).
Today i bought the blackberry curve 8520 as a prepaid phone to use with my current plan, because my previous phone got stolen.the plan is with optus and has $500 worth of calls, unlimited texting and 700mb of internet, used with a htc dream.but the browser, or any other form of internet, will not connect whenever that sim is in the blackberry
Want to connect my Sprint Curve 8330 blackberry to a high speed internet connection through a USB connection. Have yet to succeed. Getting messages like 'tunnel timed out' Seeking some troubleshooting guidance if there is some protocol barrier.
I bought a 9300 literally yesterday, and I'm using it with my current contract sim (which includes data) until I can get a blackberry contract.Apart from the fact that I was abroad this morning, had to turn off mobile services and use only wifi, and I couldn't browse past google (I did use the hotspot browser)...I want to set up my email even though I read I can't get push until I get BB service. However I seem to be lacking the wizard. When I try to set up an email account I get asked whether I have something something Enterprise (which I don't) and can't answer anything but yes. There is a selected dot I can't de-select. So I can't use my email. Also I didn't have App World, so I downloaded it from the browser, and now its in my menu. However if I try and log in with my BB account I get an error and the app crashes, even though the details are correct. So I can't download anything.
I have the Curve 9300, OS 6 and there's been a few apps I've gone to download and then I get an apology because my version of OS is not supported? Example is Weather Eye. Anything I can do about this, and is it because it's an older OS that DOES support as it doesn't say of course.
I am currently unable to connection to my internet hub. Why is this as i have tried numerous different ways to resolve the problem, like attempting to restart the connection, reset my device, restarted my mobile connections, ect. to no good.
