BB Curve 8900 :: When Swap Over SIM Card Email Is Not Configured
Jul 7, 2010
Brand new to this forum. I've had a Curve 8900 for two years without a problem. Everything works OK. I've just got a new Curve (Same model) - but when I swap over the SIM card the Email is not configured. The phone and messaging work fine but if I try and send an Email it says "No message services configured. You will be redirected to setup wizzardto set up your Email account" then it says "No message services configured, you will only be able to save to draft".But if a I swap averything back to my old phone it all works fine - no problem. What am I doing wrong or what do I have to do to get my Emails working on the new phone Thanks in advance.
I changed my email password and BB then asked to validate the same on the phone. I did. But it says invalid username/password and asked to contact the email provider. But it is the correct one (I signed in my account online just fine). I don't understand what the problem is. I even rebooted my phone twice. I tried the Gmail troublershooter, but there seems to be no way to communicate this problem. I really need to solve this as it is a Gmail id I use daily, especially for work.
I bought a BB curve 9300 in Singapore and later i looked back and found that it is BB Tmobile. Everything is ok when I set up but email set up there is no personal email setup option and there is only enterprise email set up option which I don't have. Kindly advise how can I set up? I am ok if it needs to format or reset/delete all data on my mobile.
I just bought a blackberry Curve, 8530.I had my email set up at the store and even got my blackberry registration email. However, I go to compose an email, and my phone tells me that "no message services are configured".That would be fine, if my email was not already set up, according to my blackberry.I tried going through the whole process again, and then it tells me that my email is already set up.But, it says I can only save a draft, not send, when I'm done. I owned a pearl before this, but never used many of the features. I would like to be able to use more of them on this phone.I am a bit of an electrical gimp.
I'm pretty new to this whole wireless/smartphone business, so forgive me if this question seems daft.
Say I were to buy an iPhone 4 for full price from Telus (my local, Canadian provider), could I use this phone internationally, say in Britain on a different network? Not just through roaming, but through sim card swap so I wouldnt be going through Telus whatsoever.
I'll be selling my new 3GS (hopefully for $400) and buying a iPhone 4. When I did this with the 3G to 3GS, I just swapped SIM cards in the iPhone at an AT&T store. With the iPhone 4 using a smaller SIM card, how is that going to work? Hopefully I'll sell my iPhone 3GS this week and then I'll be waiting for a couple of weeks for the iPhone 4.
Currently I have a 2GB memory card on my E63 (latest firmware), which has 3 'paid-for' applications and several free downloaded applications, loads of mp3s etc. I have purchased a 4GB memory card already, and would like to "do something" that would help me retain the entire contents of the current 2GB memory card, onto the 4GB memory card, s.t. apart from extra file space (which I plan to use for photos, videos, music), all other applications and current content remain available on the new card, w/o any other impact. I believe that backing up and restoring via 'Nokia PC Suite' won't save my apps, and only some of the data. E.g. it won't save the eBooks I have.
Yesterday I replaced my SD Card from a San disk 32GB to a Sandisk 64GB for use with my Nokia Lumia 1520. Before I done that, I copied like for like the directories on the 32GB card to the 64GB card. Everything is there but its does not recognized my apps and i have to uninstall it the re-install it. Only apps installed on the phone are still there. Also my photos are there in the file manager but they don't come up in the Main Photo Gallery.
MY Nexus 5 suffered a battery failure recently. I have managed to replace that and all good with respect to that. However, since then I am unable to get my phone to recognise the SIM. The SIM was working fine but now I can't connect to my network (Tesco), It seems to recognise the SIM as it states - "No Service - Tesco" in the status panel at the top of the screen. The phone is well out of warranty and was bought directly from CarphoneWarehouse.
I've tried my wife's micro SIM in the Nexus and no luck there either. Further, I've tried my SIM in another old phone and it works fine. Finally, I've resorted to having a new SIM sent out by Tesco and tried that .... and still no luck.
I've tried a factory reset a few times and inserted the SIM with the phone switched off ....
can E51 email key be configured for SMS text instead of email?Like I just want to be able to press the email key to get to sms messages as I use text a lot but never use email on my phone at all.
My colleague had a blackberry curve 8900 and this was then passed to me as he left the company. My sim works in the phone fine but I am unable to set up my email as it says there is one already set up. Im no longer in contact with my colleague and not sure what to do. Is there any way of renewing this? When I go to email setup it doesnt have the option of create new email.
Basically my Blackberry 8900 doesn't detect a SIM card even when there is a SIM Card in there. When it switches on it says "SIM card not found".When I go to Options -> Advanced Options -> SIM Card it says there is "No valid sim card". What is wrong? Also, the phone is 15 months old and I am on Orange UK. There should be a 2 year warranty on all electrical devices. Are Orange obliged to fix it or do I have to go direct to RIM?
I have had a notification icon for email on my phone for weeks. I deleted all messages yet its still there. I evenhad my phone replaced for another reason and its on the new phone.
My blackberry can send and receive new email/message, but I can't read any new email/message in my inbox even the email notification shown there are 17 new message in my inbox. Have check the Firewall setting and it has block anything. Have check all the email folder but no joy, didn't set any email filter.
I've seen various versions of this question but haven't found an answer yet. I just bought a second hand 8900 to replace my damaged one. The problem is the device doesn't seem to be able to recognize my media card. In the options > memory it says "a media card is not presently inserted in the device". The card works fine in the old device and in a completely different type of phone from a friend. Their card is also not recognized by my device, so I've ruled out the card as the problem. I've tried all the usual fixes - battery pull, software update, etc but with no success. Is this phone just defective or am I missing something?
I have a Curve 8900 and want to take videos with it, but it tells me I need a media card. I bought SanDisk micro SDHC card and now need to know what to do with it! I think I found the slot in the top of the phone where it goes, but in what orientation? Gold contacts up, down, first, last? I don't want to damage anything! These basic bits of info don't seem to be available anywhere I've looked.
My trackball always freezes if i activate the cellular network (vodafone)..without sim card the trackball is fully operative.i already updated the software via blackberry desktop software update and checked if the phone is really unlocked.
Yesterday I did a back up on my BB and after finished when I sync the BB it said that I required a software update which I did, Release 5.0.0.1168.However now, my BB doesn't recognize any SIM that I try to use in my BB, I lost all the data which is okay as I have a bakup and I can get it back but I cannot get my SIM working, it says all the time, insert SIM card even thought it is already inserted
I have an X10 mini pro (U20a) upgraded to Android 2.1. I wish to use the Email application with a POP3 email account, as I had done when the device was running Android 1.6. However, with 2.1 there is no option for me to configure the settings for Email.
Running Email opens a screen titled "Email account" with two already populated fields (username and password I assume) and a button labelled "Continue".Clicking Continue results in an error message: "Authentication error. Check username and password."
The username field is populated with "Telstra" (the Australian mobile network who I bought the handset from) and is not editable. The password is hidden by asterisks but is editable.I seem to recall a similar issue when the handset was originally running 1.6 and the workaround was to configure the Email account via the menu: Settings > Sony Ericsson > etc.
Now with 2.1, I can go to Settings > Sony Ericsson > but nothing for Email. Under Sony Ericsson the choices are:
1. Camera 2. Settings download 3. Timescape settings
But nothing for Email. And clicking "Settings download" does nothing. How do I use the Email application on this phone???
I lost all of my contacts after i downloaded the 5.0 OS from the forums. How would i be able to get them back without having to manually add them back into my phonebook? I thought it would have automatically saved my numbers to my sim card.
My BB 8900 is just about a week old. I had transferred a couple of videos and a few pics from my laptop on to the blackberry - and everything seemed fine for about a week. I was able to access both the videos & the pictures.
Now, for some strange reason, I'm getting the following error for my media card (and this is every time I plug out my BB from the USB connection to the laptop).
Following is the error -->
" ..A media card has been inserted that contains errors. To correct the errors please use a disk erro checking utility on a computer .. "
Now I can't access the videos and the pics on my phone. They dont seem to exist. The folders are all empty. But strangely, when I hook up my phone via USB to my laptop, I can still see the video & pic files in the Blackberry folder.
Q1 - What seems to be the problem? Is my media card corrupted ? If so, is this possible? since my unit is only about a week old.
Q2 - What is the appropriate way to plug/ unplug the USB from the Blackberry? I usually just plug it out . has this caused any problems, by any chance ?
I have a bold 9900 and I can connect to everything but email. I have tried to delete and readd it, it was there before but then I had to take my phone in to get fixed because it kept rebooting everytime I put it on a hard surface. It keeps coming back with 'no message services configured. You will be redirected to the setup wizard to setup your email' but it is already set up it just wont connect/link.
We just received our first android phone. It is as stated HTC Aria. We little disappointed with it.
1. There is no visual voicemail build-in. Is the app through android market good enough? Does it work fine?
2. Yahoo email cannot be configured through build-in mail app. We downloaded Yahoo app and so far it works OK.
3. Facebook for Aria is not the same as for iPhone (chat is missing).
Here is my question: Did it come with the latest SW version? Is SW update (2.2 I guess) coming soon?I know some of you will say I needed to wait for Samsung phone. This phone was bought for my wife and she wanted HTC only
