BB Curve :: Memo Pad Missing In 8900?
May 3, 2010I just switched from a 8310 to a 8900 and then I downgraded to OS v5.0.0.411 because my standby button would not work. What has happened is that I have lost my memo pad completely.and I have tried everything mentioned by anyone on the various sites.I tried the app loader, but the memo pad application does not show up.I tried showing all apps and looked in each folder, but it is not there,Checked in the applications list on the phone and its not there ,even did the "press the D button" after changing the call from home screen thing.the memo pad is so very important for me and I really want to get it installed asap

Jun 22, 2010Basically my Blackberry 8900 doesn't detect a SIM card even when there is a SIM Card in there. When it switches on it says "SIM card not found".When I go to Options -> Advanced Options -> SIM Card it says there is "No valid sim card". What is wrong? Also, the phone is 15 months old and I am on Orange UK. There should be a 2 year warranty on all electrical devices. Are Orange obliged to fix it or do I have to go direct to RIM?

Jan 1, 2010I've seen various versions of this question but haven't found an answer yet. I just bought a second hand 8900 to replace my damaged one. The problem is the device doesn't seem to be able to recognize my media card. In the options > memory it says "a media card is not presently inserted in the device". The card works fine in the old device and in a completely different type of phone from a friend. Their card is also not recognized by my device, so I've ruled out the card as the problem. I've tried all the usual fixes - battery pull, software update, etc but with no success. Is this phone just defective or am I missing something?

I think I found the slot in the top of the phone where it goes, but in what orientation? Gold contacts up, down, first, last? I don't want to damage anything! Feb 16, 2010My BB 8900 is just about a week old. I had transferred a couple of videos and a few pics from my laptop on to the blackberry - and everything seemed fine for about a week. I was able to access both the videos & the pictures.
Now, for some strange reason, I'm getting the following error for my media card (and this is every time I plug out my BB from the USB connection to the laptop).
Following is the error -->
" ..A media card has been inserted that contains errors. To correct the errors please use a disk erro checking utility on a computer .. "
Now I can't access the videos and the pics on my phone. They dont seem to exist. The folders are all empty. But strangely, when I hook up my phone via USB to my laptop, I can still see the video & pic files in the Blackberry folder.
Q1 - What seems to be the problem? Is my media card corrupted ? If so, is this possible? since my unit is only about a week old.
Q2 - What is the appropriate way to plug/ unplug the USB from the Blackberry? I usually just plug it out . has this caused any problems, by any chance ?
BB Curve 8900 :: When Swap Over SIM Card Email Is Not Configured
Jul 7, 2010Brand new to this forum. I've had a Curve 8900 for two years without a problem. Everything works OK. I've just got a new Curve (Same model) - but when I swap over the SIM card the Email is not configured. The phone and messaging work fine but if I try and send an Email it says "No message services configured. You will be redirected to setup wizzardto set up your Email account" then it says "No message services configured, you will only be able to save to draft".But if a I swap averything back to my old phone it all works fine - no problem. What am I doing wrong or what do I have to do to get my Emails working on the new phone Thanks in advance.

Jan 7, 2010I am trying to move music files from the media card to the device memory. I have accessed Blackberry website and followed the instructions but my menu does not give the option to 'Move'. This is a replacement handset and apparently software etc has been upgraded since I got the previous one 7 months ago. I want to use music as a ring tone (I am also having problems downloading music but that's another story). Can anyone out there help as I am at the point where I might just flush the thing down the loo and go back to a basic mobile!

When I look in my SD card on my computer, all the files I deleted are gone.So I tried formatting my SD card to completely erase everything and start over. I formatted it on both my computer and my blackberry. But the weird files are still sitting in my photo album!Does anyone know how I can get rid of them?

However whenever I check for updates via the blackberry site the desktop manger pops up and does not offer this upgrade. All it says it 4.6.1 (current) and the rest are downgrades, so I'm not quite sure what I need to do to get the new OS to even appear, much less download it and work.

Apr 28, 2010Had quite a few issues after upgrading my BB to OS4.5, just when I thought everything is working correctly, the Memo Pad icon disappeared. It is neither hidden nor in any folder, I checked everywhere. The funny thing is, it is still syncing with Lotus Notes, so it's hidden somewhere. Wiped BB clean twice, and it will be back; however, once I installed the third party applications, WorldMate, Google Map, and CallingCardDialer, the Memo Pad disappeared again. I could do a Search and find the memo, but just can't find the icon.
