BB Curve 8500 :: Password Lock Option Removed

I need to be able to lock my blackberry with a password and I had to be able to just hold down the A key to do this, but after I downloaded the software upgrade to 5.0.0.508 locks the keyboard, not the phone. Also it's darn near impossible to unlock the keyboard with the mute key because I have a case on my phone. I have to pull the case off to get it to unlock.How can I get it back to just the password lock when I hold down the A key? I've tried to go into speed dial keys and update it there, but it won't let me change that one.

i just updated my curve to the 5.0 or something. on the old setting i could lock the keypad with the left convience key and then press *A and the left green phone buttons. however on having updated the phone it wont let me do this anymore. Does anyone know how i can get it so that i can lock the keypad without having to type in a password to unlock it?

I'm facing a problem from 2 days. My 8500 curve freezes, and after I need push the red button for some seconds, after I can use it almost normally. Almost, because it seems the "o" key in the keyboard is pressed also when I don't press it. After some seconds, the things turn normally. I suspect a software problem.

I can´t disable the option for password lock, I don´t needed, for me is enough with the "lock keyboard" button . But no matter what I try even following the manual each time I enter the Security option Password lock only appears Abled, doesn´t give any chance to Disable it.

My Curve 8520 is asking for a password which I have no clue to what it is to unlock the phone. I had a password before consisting of 4 digits, but I removed it as I found it quite annoying. But now it's asking for a password and it isn't those 4 digits. But now I've got 1 try left until "information will be erased". What to do ?

Starting today for some reason, I can only compose text messages but can't send them because the option just no longer is there. I can spell check but can't compose.I can't delete the message threads either. That option appears but doesn't function.Any ideas? Very frustrating! Up until the Blackberry Curve was perfect.

I typed in full email address in "To" field and then some text in the body. When ready to send, I press that "Menu" button and got a list of options on the left-hand side. Everything except "Send" Can only save as draft. However,
(1) if I go to contact list first and select someone's email then I can send. No problem.
(2) also, SMS provides "send" option so no issue there either.
(3) receiving emails works fine.
Did "resend service books" numerous times and battery pull too.

I did a search, and I seem to be having the opposite issue many others have had. I am trying to setup a Blackberry Enterprise Server email address on my Blackberry 8530, but I only have the option to setup a personal one in the Email Setup Wizard. I do have a black berry data plan setup, my personal email is working fine on the blackberry, but I need the enterprise option to work with my work's email. I cannot find any support to detail why this is happening.

I had a pearl for a few years and just upgraded to the curve a few days ago. The problem is I can't reply to emails. After I receive an email I can select reply and type in my response. I then press the menu key and the only options that come up are "help, save draft, flag, Add to:, Add CC,,etc" I can fwd the email and I can send a new email. For some reason I can reply with my hotmail account no problem but not with my gmail account. This all worked fine on my pearl.

I am a busy mom and my kids often have appts that run 5-20 days at a time. On my od curve I was able to schedule recurring appointments on the new curve 8530 model the opton is not available. Is there a solution to this? ( I sure hope so! )

I have a hotmail account.I changed my password on my laptop for hotmail and do not know how to change the password on my curve 2.The curve tells me to "'validate password".When I enter the new password in the box and hit "next", it is an invalid password.

So I updated my Curve to the new version 5. I noticed that there was no more Keyboard Lock/Password Lock. From my previous software, it was named Keyboard Lock and I set it as one of my convenience keys. After the update, I noticed that it no longer existed. A friend of mine purchased a brand new Curve 8520 with the update already installed of course. She had the Keyboard Lock but it was named Password Lock instead. I have been searching for ways to get this feature back to my Blackberry because I feel it is more convenient rather than the "silent/mute mode" button located on the top of my device. I'm having a problem with the new Android, 2.3.4 while using ActiveSync to connect to my corporete email on Exchange Server ... A corporete policy gets pushed to my phone and I need to accept it. OK, no problem ... I accept it, but the Lock screen settings ( under Settings -> Location And Security -> Change Lock Screen ) only allows the "Password" option, saying the other options,e.g. the PIN way is remotely disabled by administrator, although that is NOT the case. I've double checked with our system admins on this.Our system admins are NOT forcing the "Password" option ... they're OK with just using the PIN, and I had it like that, in the old 2.3.3 version !For this setup ... this will display the long PASSWORD for lock-screen, instead of just a PIN which is what I prefer to to use instead:
* Android 2.3.4
* gingerbread.xwki4 on Samsung Galaxy S2
* Exchange 2007 sp3
This policy is NOT forced by our admins, since this is the policy:Here are my complete Password tab settings on the server, so you can see the admins are NOT requesting this long password ( PIN is enough! ):
Require Password - checked Require alphanumeric password - unchecked <--- attention, this is UNCHECKED.
Enable password recovery - checked
Require encryption on the device - checked

But with this update, you need the following for the unlock screen of ActiveSync for Exchange Server:6 letters, and one number in the previous version ( 2.3.4 ) you needed 6 letters, TWO numbers and one sign I want to be able to use ONLY 4 letters PIN, as it is allowed on our network, as you can see in our policy just pasted above in this thread!

I recently took charge of a Blackberry Curve 8520 - I noticed that after I had linked it to my PC via Blackberry Desktop Manager, the icon for the keyboard lock was removed from the menu. I've looked in the obvious places in Options to try and re-instate the icon but can't seem to see anywhere which allow me to do ths. I've also searched for hidden items but nothing seems to be hidden.

I have my 8530 set to lock after 5 minutes. Once the five minutes is up, it will lock (allowing me to put in my password). However, when I press and hold the A key, a message comes up on the screen saying
"Keypad is locked. Press the Mute button to unlock". so all i have to do is press the mute button, the phone isn't actually password locked.

I've been trying to set up my email account through the wizard set up and have been largely unsuccessful. I read a couple of posts that have given a step-by-step process. My only problem is that I don't have an option that says 'Add account.' Here are the steps I've followed:
1) Go to Email Setup
2) Choose 'I want to create or add an email address.
3) Click next
4)Click next again
5)Then, I get a message which says 'Existing Users, to log in, please provide your username and password.'
I don't have an option to add an account. When I put in my username and password into the fields, I get a message saying please enter a valid username. (My service provider already set up my Gmail, and couldn't add the other one. I told him I'd figure it out)

I just upgraded to a BlackBerry Curve and was very happy when my Password Keeper just showed up, accepted my old password and had my database. However, the find function no longer works. If I type A, is says no passwords found even though I can see a bunch as soon as I open it. So how does one fix and non-functioning password keeper find function. It is painful trying to get to the ones that start with "Z!"

I have a new-to-me device, after my original Curve 8530 had to be sent back to the carrier. I restored old settings from a backup re Desktop Manager, but now there are messaging problems. One, my setup folder doesn't have an e-mail setup option. Two, in "Email Reconciliation" option, only chloice I have is to change the e-mail account on "Message Services" drop-down. Related to that, if I'm in "messages," my Options screen lacks "Reconcile Now."
