BB Torch :: Verify My Network Connections?
Jan 7, 2012i have just got a reconditioned BB torch after my previous one couldnt be repaired. I have set it up fine, except when I try to log in to BB App world it says it is having trouble connecting to the BB App world server, Verify your network connections and try again.

Apr 13, 2011I've got Googe maps, BTC Mapper, and Endomondo on my phone. They all use GPS to track you, plot where you have been, and save tracks for you to chek out later. They work nice. I use them a lot for walking, running, and bicycling.My question though, is the GPS actually using the GPS satellites in orbit, or is it using triangulation off several cell towers to get my location?If it is using GPS satellites, why is it that if I turn off all connections (Mobile Network Sprint & Wi-Fi), I lose all GPS connections as well? If this device is atually getting signals from the satellites, what difference does it make if I am in a cell coverage area or not?I've read that, yes, the location is retrieved from the satellites, but to plot it on the maps takes the cell connection. If that is the case, is there an app that just logs longitude and latitude every second and stores it in a file that can be dumped to a map at a later time?
The reason I bring all this up is because, later this summer, I plan to go on a 2-week long cruise that will visit about a dozen different Carribean islands and I'd like to track my location. At sea, I won't be able to pick up a cell signal. Will the GPS tracking apps like google, still work? Even if I can't get a cell signal, my GPS should still be able to pick up satellite signals

Mar 13, 2012My iPhone network connections (WiFi/4G) are extermely slow after performing the update to IOS 5.1! Speedtest.Net results over 4G = 0.15 Mpbs down and 0.05 Mpbs up ans that's will FULL bars! AT&T claims that there are no network issues in my area and they are not throttling my device. Even over WiFi it's taking FOREVER to download apps from the app store, etc.

Jun 5, 2014I've been using my iphone's data to connect to the internet on my pc and my ipad for ages. The last few weeks, it kept dropping out and I had to turn personal hotspot off and on again to reconnect. Yesterday however, a new problem arose. I turn the hotspot on and both my pc and my ipad are not even showing my iphone as an option to use as a wireless internet connection. I have reset netowrk settings'' but the problem persists.

May 18, 2010Im having an issue with my unlocked Rogers Blackberry Bold that is on the Fido network.I keep getting intermittent connection switching from; 3G, 3g, 2G, 2g, Edge, EDGE, GSM, gsm. you get the idea Im in an area where I have fully coverage, but seems that something is wrong with my BB. Prior to this all was working fine, never a problem til now.I took my sister's sim card [Rogers] and placed into the BB, and it worked fine, was on the EDGE network but didn't drop or anything.Also I am unable to view the "Network Technology" in the Mobile Network Options. What do I do?I ran a diagonistic and here's what i got.

BB Curve 8900 :: GPS Unable To Get Connections
Apr 13, 2010Ever since I got my T-Mo 8900 last September I have never really gotten the GPS to work quite right. When I use the maps or apps that use the GPS I never can get a connection, so I assume by default it locates me my cell towers (which always always points my locations incorrectly by a half mile or so). Is there something I am missing in the setup or options. Or is this just a result of crappy GPS capabilities on the 8900's part?

Nov 23, 2012So I've had my blackberry curve for almost two years email has always worked fine on it until recently. I moved out of province and finally got around to changing my phone number to a local one not long after that I decided to back up my phone on my pc since I hadn't done it in a really long time. Well when I plugged my phone into my computer i thought it was weird it didn't recognize my phone it kept saying it was a new devce when I know I've back it up before. Then a few days later I get an email on my phone saying I need to validate my password for my email and wont be able to send or receive emails until I do so. It gives me two options, open blackberry internet service account through my set up icon on phone or using the computer.

Is there a setting I can adjust to auto-switch & disable data? For now, i have to go into my notification bar and click over and then confirm even...and of course sometimes I forget to do that and I incure data charges when my 5ghz N signal is standing idly by.
