Since the update ive had various problems with my Z3 from freezing on camera and other apps to it getting very hot and apps disappearing of the home screen. The main problem I have is the wifi. Its not picking up automatically the ones in the list. My own home one it does but no others. Even when I re enter the password it says saved when you truth connect it's asking for password again.
Starting late this afternoon, I lost all data connections except wifi. Verizon support told me an outage is nationwide for phones with LTE. As I am typing this, LTE is back for now after a 6+ hour outage. Hopefully Verizon fixed the lte/cdma problems that have been a problem for a couple of weeks.
I have a xperia mini, have had it for 2 months.First I had no problem getting on the internet with wifi. But now the phone can't find any wifi connections, not in my home not anywhere. I also noticed that the wifi deactivates on the phone a while after I've tried to activate. At home all other devices and phones can use my wifi, it's only this phone
I have a blackberry Curve 9300 running v5.0.0.846. The Wi-fi is always greyed out for open Wifi connections at airports, hotels, etc. I did manage to get it to turn white once but that was for a WEP-protected connection where I connected manually. Are there some settings that are incorrect? (e.g. the APN username and password is blank in TCP/IP menu).
I literally drop EVERY WiFi call after about 5-7 minutes. I get an error message "WiFi Signal Lost". I would normally just blame the WiFi network I'm on, but it does it on multiple totally different networks (home, work, Burger King, etc...). And I know for sure both home and work networks are very stable and fast. Not sure what the issue is. If I go and view the network details of the network I'm on, the signal strength is typically between -40 and -75 dBm. While in UMA mode, the phone will actually go out of UMA mode sometimes for no apparent reason, and won't go back into UMA mode until after a few minutes. The worst part is that the Home screen says I'm still connected to the WiFi network, but the top right corner doesn't say UMA! It says 3G! And YES, my Mobile Network Mode is set to "WiFi Preferred". Even if I set it to WiFi Only, the top of the Home screen says I'm connected to the WiFi network, but the top right corner says OFF and the phone just goes dead!!
I use this phone for work and it needs to be reliable. Is my above WiFi Calling experience normal?? If not, does anybody know anything I can try? Are there some apps that conflict the with operation of the phone portion at all? I'm back to using the default theme now and it's still doing it... Should I try doing a factory reset? Here are the apps I can think of that I have installed:
Dark GalaxyCrunchSMSBolt Browser w/BBLauncher PluginQuickPullGoogleMapsWeather ChannelTetris by Electronic Arts I've removed a bunch of the default apps, but all other apps on the phone are ones that it came with.Another thing I've been noticing... it will randomly lock up for a few seconds and be TOTALLY unresponsive. If I'm scrolling through a page, the pointer will all of a sudden stop and become completely unresponsive for a few seconds. Then resumes like nothing happened. And, if I'm typing a long text or email and it does this total-lock up, I'll look up from the keyboard and see that none of my keystrokes were being echo'd onto the screen while it was locked up. But then it starts working again like nothing happened. BUT The strange thing is that if I'm typing while it's locked up, it doesn't appear to a buffer any of my keystrokes! (as opposed to on my old BB 8330: sometimes when it got bogged down because I had too much stuff running in the background, the keystrokes being echo'ed to the screen would sometimes slow down and lag behind my typing.... but it always kept track of what I typed and would eventually catch up.) HOWEVER, when my 9780 completely locks up like I mentioned above, it doesn't seem to recognize that I typed anything while it was locked up. when it "snaps out of it" and comes back to life, none of the keystrokes I typed while it was locked up are echo'ed onto the screen. I'm wondering if it's during these complete lockups that I'm dropping calls?
My new Motorola Droid Razr has had an issue from day one, the data connection ramdomly but on at least a daily basis the phone looses it's data connection. A hard re-boot has solved these issues so far, until today.
I was told that a software update to solve this issue is already in the works. When will it be available??
I've got Googe maps, BTC Mapper, and Endomondo on my phone. They all use GPS to track you, plot where you have been, and save tracks for you to chek out later. They work nice. I use them a lot for walking, running, and bicycling. My question though, is the GPS actually using the GPS satellites in orbit, or is it using triangulation off several cell towers to get my location? If it is using GPS satellites, why is it that if I turn off all connections (Mobile Network Sprint & Wi-Fi), I lose all GPS connections as well? If this device is atually getting signals from the satellites, what difference does it make if I am in a cell coverage area or not?I've read that, yes, the location is retrieved from the satellites, but to plot it on the maps takes the cell connection. If that is the case, is there an app that just logs longitude and latitude every second and stores it in a file that can be dumped to a map at a later time?
The reason I bring all this up is because, later this summer, I plan to go on a 2-week long cruise that will visit about a dozen different Carribean islands and I'd like to track my location. At sea, I won't be able to pick up a cell signal. Will the GPS tracking apps like google, still work? Even if I can't get a cell signal, my GPS should still be able to pick up satellite signals
My Moto X would automatically switch over to WIFI from 4Glte when a known connection was closeby (ie when Im at home). Ive only had this G3 a few days.
Is there a setting I can adjust to auto-switch & disable data? For now, i have to go into my notification bar and click over and then confirm even...and of course sometimes I forget to do that and I incure data charges when my 5ghz N signal is standing idly by.
At my work we have our hotspot that is my preferred connection when in our space. There are common areas in the building that has free wifi such as the lunch area and the gym. How can i make my work hotspot the prefered connection since they can over lap?
My iphone 4s will not find any wifi connections, even though I have other devices connected at home. It simply searches and the little circle spins continually, but finds nothing. I have tried resetting everything and turning off and then on again etc. I cannot understand why it is now not working all of a sudden and none of the suggested fixes on Apple Support work.
I have had my ipad for about one year. Recently it started dropping the wifi. I would have to go to settings and choose my network. Then it would not connect at all. I went online looking for solutions. I tried everything. Nothing helped. I also have an iphone4S that I just got about 2 months ago. It has now also lost connection to my wifi.
I have a 920 that has given me fits since I got it a week ago. I have had this happen at several hotel, work and home locations. What happens is that at some point during the day, I want to connect to the Wi-Fi whereever I am at. So I turn on the screen, go into Settings/Wi-Fi and I am not able to connect to anything. The Wi-Fi option is turned ON but the toggle for it is grayed out and you cannot change it (to ON or OFF). Also, there is a progress bar scrolling across as it indicates "Searching". It will stay that way for HOURS if you wait that long.I also noticed that if I go to Bluetooth settings at this point, I cannot turn that On or Off either (although the toggle is not grayed out). The rest of the phone and app functions work normal at this point. The only way to get WiFi or BT working is to reboot the phone, then everything will work for a while and at some point in time, this will happen all over again.
As I understand (at least is what the user's guide describes), the N97 connects to WiFi via 802.11b/g...Anyone knows if there is a way to connect the phone via 5Ghz WiFi connections?I have too much equipment in my house using the 2.4Ghz channels (bluetooth, PS2 controllers, etc), and I'm using a WiFi router in 802.11a/n with 5Ghz range to lower the interference.
I just installed Belle FP2 on my 808 PureView to see if any of the FP1's wireless bugs were fixed. But so far it doesn't look too good.
If I create a custom internet target for my job needs and put some WiFi access points there, the phone still makes duplicate copies of them to Internet target upon connect.
I have a iPhone 4s with IOS 7 and up until yesterday my WiFi connection was working fine. Suddenly it disconnected and after multiple attempts to reconnect, the WiFi page has stopped displaying ALL connections.I have tried basically placing my phone on top of my internet modem to no avail and have even tried my friends WiFi and nothing is coming up. I have tried resetting the network connections and restarting but just nothing.
Having a new problem finding and connecting to wifi hotspots / routers. When phone was new it used to find a list of available networks very quickly and connect to previously used networks without a problem. Now (only a few weeks old) the phone takes 2-3 minutes to "scan" for networks, then takes another 30sec or a minute to connect. Can't think of any settings I've changed which might have caused this. Have not installed any 3rd party wifi apps either.
I switched to Cricket from Virgin Mobile so I could go back to Windows with the 1320. In my 1st month with them I went over my 2.5 GB of data with about a week left in the month. In five years with VM I can count on one hand the times I went over 1.5 GB with them. Checking my data usage on Cricket's website I see 1-3 entries per day detailing my usage, some with very large amounts of data. Cricket CS tells me that my device uses their network first and Wi-Fi 2nd.
So in other words when I'm at home and connected to my home wi-fi the device will use Cricket's data even though it's connected to my Wifi. To fix this they told me I have to manually disable data from their network when I don't want to use it. Now this makes no sense to me since the 3 Android phones I've had did not do this once I connected to Wi-Fi the carrier's data was disabled. I think there must be a setting on the phone that must wrong that is keeping this from happening other that what Cricket CS told me. The way they explained it to me Wi-fi is useless because their data would be used regardless if it's connect or not.
Have just recently bought a Motorola Razr M which is running stock ICS on Telstra in Australia. I am having constant problems with wifi connections dropping in and out whilst at home. It basically will display very good signal then all of a sudden drop out completely and reconnect. This happens without me moving or changing my hand position, sometimes whilst browsing web or downloading and sometimes whilst not using internet at all. It can happen as often as every few seconds or it may go 5-10 minutes before it starts. No other device I own has these problems, including my Motorola Atrix. I have spent hours changing settings in the modem (2.4g only) but nothing makes ANY difference. This is definitely a phone related problem (bug, hardware etc).
I updated my Z2 OS today and completely lost WIFI. Di a backup, reset and restore and still no wifi. Obviously a bug. Cannot access anything without wifi.
I've seen it many times being brightly black and white, and under Manage Connections it shows a Green checked symbol. But most of the time the WiFi icon is grayed out and under Manage Connections it has a white little line instead of the green checked symbol.
Over the last 24 hours i've notice my Xperia Z2's battery is draining very quickly, even when asleep. Even when it is plugged in charging, i keep getting messages saying the phone is unable to charge as it is using too much power. And previously i could charge the phone overnight fully, now it doesn't get close to 40%
In addition to this I've noticed it is kicking out a lot of heat at the top of the phone, and also i can no longer connect to the internet via wifi.
Everything else seems ok, and i have managed to back up my data to an sd card. I haven't added any new apps recently.
I've had the phone for less than a year and as far as i know it hasn't had any heavy drops or anything.
I have the latest build on my xperia Z2 ... its the first time i ever activate UltraStamina mode .... when i returned to normal ... no saved wifi networks left !
I just got my X8 last week, liking it so far -- not a big fan of android tho
I use a VPN service to connect to the internet, but the problem is that I have to type my password EVERYTIME the screen goes dark.
Is there a way to remember my passwords instead of typing them again everytime? Like an app or seomthing? for the record, my passwords contains uppercase and lowercase letters, special caracters, and numbers.
What do i need to do, so i can establish a conection between a phone(xperia neo) and a laptop (hp) throught the hdmi port? I've tried conecting the phone, and selecting the second display in control panel (i am using windows 7), but is not identifing any other monitor exect the internal one. I've search for an app for the phone, but exect the one's for droid x didnt find any...
So, unfortunate circumstances for a first post here. I'm afraid my WiFi chip is dead and hoping someone can help me realize it's not.I have a Curve 9300, purchased back in April with the fabulous OS 5 on it. My husband and I bought matching phones.
Historically, I've had some WiFi issues here at my house, which could be traced back to a crappy D-Link router. Devices were being "kicked off" the network when more than two were trying to use it (xBox, phone, laptop, etc) It always seemed like my phone had the most trouble staying connected here, but it would always acknowledge that the network was there (it would show up in the list of networks most of the time), and if I went to OTHER houses or public WiFi Hot Spots, I could connect without a problem. About a week ago I upgraded to OS6 (if I had paid better attention to my software update checkboxes, I wouldn't have done it, man I hate OS6) and ever since then, my Curve won't even acknowledge the EXISTENCE of my WiFi network, even after I re-entered all the network information manually. Thinking it was our (straight-from-hell) router, I bought a new Linksys model and set it up... same problem! Since then I have tried changing every setting, manually entering network data repeatedly, even connecting with the WiFi Protected Setup button, and it's just not working. My husband's Curve, meanwhile, is connecting just fine.
