I have had my ipad for about one year. Recently it started dropping the wifi. I would have to go to settings and choose my network. Then it would not connect at all. I went online looking for solutions. I tried everything. Nothing helped. I also have an iphone4S that I just got about 2 months ago. It has now also lost connection to my wifi.

my phone cannot scan or find any networks on the home network or anywhere else.
I have tried resetting the network settings, restoring my phone and setting up my phone as a new phone through itunes, but nothing is working.
Cant think what else i can do or if there is maybe a setting i could be changing.
All other wireless devices are working fine in the house.
My iphone is contracted with vodaphone and i can still make calls and text.

I recently got internet through Time Warner which I believe is DSL. I connected everything up to my Time Capsule, and the light is green. I got onto my Macbook and updated the firmware for the Time Capsule and am able to get on the internet connected to the Time Capsule with no problem what so ever.I got my iPhone 4 and my iPhone 4s and try to connect to the Time Capsule, I enter the password and all it does is have the loading ring and won't connect to it.On my iPhones I've tried to renew the lease, reset my network settings, turn off and on the wifi, hard reset, turn off the phone normal, and still nothing.my Time Capsule I've tried to disconnect and reconnect everything, I've tried to restart my modem and reconnect it.It's still the same problem I can connect just fine with the wifi on my Macbook, but my iPhones just have the loading ring and never connect.

My iPhone 4S is unable to locate any wifi networks. It shows that it searches for a network, but it never finds one, even when I set the phone on the router. I replaced the wifi antenna with no change. I restored the phone, without backups, with no change. When I check the Bluetooth setting, it appears to be on, but it doesn't give any options, and the icon just spins like its searching. I don't think there is anything to find though.

When I go into the settings>wifi I can see networks no problem but when I select one to connect to there are two options, connect and cancel. For some reason the connect option is grayed out, well actually its light blue. The network I'm trying to connect to is secure and I have the password but even when I enter the password I can't select the connect option. I connected to a hotel network just last night no problem and today I have this.

The Wi-fi is always greyed out for open Wifi connections at airports, hotels, etc. I did manage to get it to turn white once but that was for a WEP-protected connection where I connected manually. Are there some settings that are incorrect? (e.g. the APN username and password is blank in TCP/IP menu).

Suddenly it disconnected and after multiple attempts to reconnect,the WiFi page has stopped displaying ALL connections.I have tried basically placing my phone on top of my internet modem to no avail and have even tried my friends WiFi and nothing is coming up. I literally drop EVERY WiFi call after about 5-7 minutes. I get an error message "WiFi Signal Lost". I would normally just blame the WiFi network I'm on, but it does it on multiple totally different networks (home, work, Burger King, etc...). And I know for sure both home and work networks are very stable and fast. Not sure what the issue is. If I go and view the network details of the network I'm on, the signal strength is typically between -40 and -75 dBm. While in UMA mode, the phone will actually go out of UMA mode sometimes for no apparent reason, and won't go back into UMA mode until after a few minutes. The worst part is that the Home screen says I'm still connected to the WiFi network, but the top right corner doesn't say UMA! It says 3G! And YES, my Mobile Network Mode is set to "WiFi Preferred". Even if I set it to WiFi Only, the top of the Home screen says I'm connected to the WiFi network, but the top right corner says OFF and the phone just goes dead!!
I use this phone for work and it needs to be reliable. Is my above WiFi Calling experience normal?? If not, does anybody know anything I can try? Are there some apps that conflict the with operation of the phone portion at all? I'm back to using the default theme now and it's still doing it... Should I try doing a factory reset? Here are the apps I can think of that I have installed:

And, if I'm typing a long text or email and it does this total-lock up, I'll look up from the keyboard and see that none of my keystrokes were being echo'd onto the screen while it was locked up. But then it starts working again like nothing happened. BUT The strange thing is that if I'm typing while it's locked up, it doesn't appear to a buffer any of my keystrokes! (as opposed to on my old BB 8330: sometimes when it got bogged down because I had too much stuff running in the background, the keystrokes being echo'ed to the screen would sometimes slow down and lag behind my typing.... but it always kept track of what I typed and would eventually catch up.) HOWEVER, when my 9780 completely locks up like I mentioned above, it doesn't seem to recognize that I typed anything while it was locked up. when it "snaps out of it" and comes back to life, none of the keystrokes I typed while it was locked up are echo'ed onto the screen. I'm wondering if it's during these complete lockups that I'm dropping calls?

I hgave reset network, reset phone, hard soft shut down, plugged it into the router-time capsule, and nothing. It just keeps on spinning around and around. I do not have a VPN network, but I tried that, and still nothing. My office is where I have wifi-plus their are 10 other wifi's in the building it used to pick up, now nothing. Even at home nothing. Just spinning and spinning.It is 2 weeks old. I bought it in Canada, and am now in Africa. I purchased it factory unlocked, and it is running the 5.1.1 software. I don't want to take my phone to the apple resellers, as I bought it at an actual Apple store, and I don't trust the guy here in Tanzania. Is their anything that I have missed that I could possibly do? If you say fixed or static IP, I have no idea how to do that so if you could explain where that said IP is so I could utilize it, and how do I input it to my phone. I'm thinking that is my last hope. Other than that the chip or antenna are fried somehow-even though it is brand new, and has had a case on it the whole time.

I have an iPhone 4 and it has been using from 10MB to 100MB of my data plan while I'm on a WiFi network. This usually happens at night or when my iPhone is on standby and is killing my 200MB plan.I am almost always on a WiFi network and the most data usage seems to be around 12AM - 6AM. I have just picked up on this when I was out of state and needed to have my 3G on to get good reception (data roaming was off). Before then I usually never had my cellular network on and never had much of a problem.Now i have come home to an AT&T M-Cell. I cannot connect to the M-Cell unless I'm on 3G.
I have read many forums that all say that you need to turn off your data while I'm on a WiFi network. However this is just a work around and not a solution to what is actually using so much data. Has anyone found a better solution or has found an app that will keep a log of what is taking up so much of my data plan?

Sometimes a wifi network I use everyday won't connect to my iPhone. It tries to connect but the circle keeps circulating next to the network name in settings under wifi. It did this twice, once a couple days ago for a few hours and once yesterday again before I left work. When I got to work in the morning it connected quick no issues. Also today I walked to a Mercedes dealership doing my work runs and when I got there I checked the phone and again the circle kept circulating and never connected. There is no issue of being too far from the signal so I'm not sure if this may be the iPhone issue or maybe by coincidence it being a network issue for both places I mentioned it happening.

I got a new iPhone 4S on May 15, 2012. It worked great at the AT&T store and connected to their secure wireless no problem. I spent 6 hours at home trying to get it to connect to my wifi network - it couldn't find mine or any of only 1 of the other 5 that my iMac can find. I have a Netgear WNDR3700 (the dual band n) router that the iMac, the Macbook, two TiVos and my old 3G phone connect with no problem - and all these devices except the iMac are downstairs in the opposite side of the house from the router. So...I reset my network settings on the phoneI turned wifi on and off again on the phoneI turned airport mode on and off again on the phoneI turned the phone off and restarted itI updated the firmware and the GUI on my routerI took off the security, walked up to the router until the phone was 3 inches away, and it found the network and connected. Safari worked fine on wifi. I walked 5 feet away and the wifi was gone. (The phone will find and connect to my neighbor's unsecured network, but drops the connection if I move more than 5 feet from where I picked it up.)I reinstated the WPA2 security, held the phone 3 inches from the router and connected via the passphrase. Signal dropped again at 5 feet away. I restarted the cable modem (just for kicks) and the router. I changed the router security keys. I added the phone's MAC address to the access list on my routerI did a factory restore on my router, changed the network names and passphrases.I took my phone to the gym, Starbucks and the Apple Store. It connected to the wifi and even made backups on iCloud. I bought my iPhone last week from a friend, and took it to the AT&T store and it connected to the wifi there. When I brought it home it didn't even detect my network unless I was standing right next to my dad's computer, which is above our router. It will connect in any other area with wifi, just not at home. I have tried restoring it from a recent back up, and as a new phone. I have turned it on and off, I have tried resetting the network settings. Nothing works. I don't the taking it to the genius bar would be much help because my phone is out of warranty and I don't want to pay $200.00.

4G is working fine, although the last couple of days my phone has been randomly forwarding some calls to my voicemail w/o ringing; but not always.
Tried restarting, forget network, reset network, hard reset, and reset all settings. The wheel just spins. It sees the network, asks for password, but won't connect. iPhone 5's and ipads work fine as do computers, apple tv, etc. Used to connect, but now just that spinning wheel forever. No error message.

They work nice. I use them a lot for walking, running, and bicycling.My question though, is the GPS actually using the GPS satellites in orbit, or is it using triangulation off several cell towers to get my location?If it is using GPS satellites, why is it that if I turn off all connections (Mobile Network Sprint & Wi-Fi), I lose all GPS connections as well? If this device is atually getting signals from the satellites, what difference does it make if I am in a cell coverage area or not?I've read that, yes, the location is retrieved from the satellites, but to plot it on the maps takes the cell connection. If that is the case, is there an app that just logs longitude and latitude every second and stores it in a file that can be dumped to a map at a later time?
The reason I bring all this up is because, later this summer, I plan to go on a 2-week long cruise that will visit about a dozen different Carribean islands and I'd like to track my location. At sea, I won't be able to pick up a cell signal. Will the GPS tracking apps like google, still work? Even if I can't get a cell signal, my GPS should still be able to pick up satellite signals
Since the update ive had various problems with my Z3 from freezing on camera and other apps to it getting very hot and apps disappearing of the home screen.The main problem I have is the wifi.Its not picking up automatically the ones in the list. My own home one it does but no others. Even when I re enter the password it says saved when you truth connect it's asking for password again.

Is there a setting I can adjust to auto-switch & disable data? For now, i have to go into my notification bar and click over and then confirm even...and of course sometimes I forget to do that and I incure data charges when my 5ghz N signal is standing idly by.
Despite turning my phone on and off I can not connect to home wi-fi. It keeps buffering and does not locate any networks. This is a phone I bought today from Apple store. wi-fi worked initially but went out, came home and does not connect. IPad connected to wi-fi and husbands iPhone connected.
