My iPhone network connections (WiFi/4G) are extermely slow after performing the update to IOS 5.1! Speedtest.Net results over 4G = 0.15 Mpbs down and 0.05 Mpbs up ans that's will FULL bars! AT&T claims that there are no network issues in my area and they are not throttling my device. Even over WiFi it's taking FOREVER to download apps from the app store, etc.

I've got Googe maps, BTC Mapper, and Endomondo on my phone. They all use GPS to track you, plot where you have been, and save tracks for you to chek out later. They work nice. I use them a lot for walking, running, and bicycling.My question though, is the GPS actually using the GPS satellites in orbit, or is it using triangulation off several cell towers to get my location?If it is using GPS satellites, why is it that if I turn off all connections (Mobile Network Sprint & Wi-Fi), I lose all GPS connections as well? If this device is atually getting signals from the satellites, what difference does it make if I am in a cell coverage area or not?I've read that, yes, the location is retrieved from the satellites, but to plot it on the maps takes the cell connection. If that is the case, is there an app that just logs longitude and latitude every second and stores it in a file that can be dumped to a map at a later time?
The reason I bring all this up is because, later this summer, I plan to go on a 2-week long cruise that will visit about a dozen different Carribean islands and I'd like to track my location. At sea, I won't be able to pick up a cell signal. Will the GPS tracking apps like google, still work? Even if I can't get a cell signal, my GPS should still be able to pick up satellite signals
I've been using my iphone's data to connect to the internet on my pc and my ipad for ages. The last few weeks, it kept dropping out and I had to turn personal hotspot off and on again to reconnect. Yesterday however, a new problem arose. I turn the hotspot on and both my pc and my ipad are not even showing my iphone as an option to use as a wireless internet connection. Sometimes it takes several seconds to respond to a screen touch - most often when placing a phone call. I recently got internet through Time Warner which I believe is DSL. I connected everything up to my Time Capsule, and the light is green. I got onto my Macbook and updated the firmware for the Time Capsule and am able to get on the internet connected to the Time Capsule with no problem what so ever.I got my iPhone 4 and my iPhone 4s and try to connect to the Time Capsule, I enter the password and all it does is have the loading ring and won't connect to it.On my iPhones I've tried to renew the lease, reset my network settings, turn off and on the wifi, hard reset, turn off the phone normal, and still nothing.my Time Capsule I've tried to disconnect and reconnect everything, I've tried to restart my modem and reconnect it.It's still the same problem I can connect just fine with the wifi on my Macbook, but my iPhones just have the loading ring and never connect.

way to check the Bluetooth protocol version being used for a given device connection on the iPhone? Is there a status screen or logfile somewhere?
E.g., if I connect a headset, is there a way to verify whether the iPhone is communicating with it using 3.0, 2.1, 2.0, etc? This isn't the same as what the device specs say it supports as (all?) Bluetooth devices are capable of falling back to earlier protocol versions. I'm envisioning a situation in which a 2.1 version device isn't fully compatible for whatever reason and so falls back to 1.1- how would you know this has happened?
