BB Bold :: Broken Screen - Retrieval Of Contents?
Jun 3, 2012My Bold 9900 has finally died after having a smashed screen for a few months.
Can I retrieve the contents of the phone (contacts, text messages etc)?

Mar 27, 2012My sweet daughter thought my phone needed to take a flight and threw is down some stairs on some nice hard tile. Needless to say, my screen broke and I have a new phone arriving today. But I had a few text that I had protected because they were important to me (one a picture of my baby and the second her first text she ever sent) and wondering if there is a way to access the phone through my computer and retrieve the text messages? I can open up the phone folders on my computer, but not sure if there is anything I can do from there.

Jul 10, 2012I have a regular RAZR that had the screen self-destruct last Friday, I have no idea why, as it did not touch anything, just cracked...but that is beside the point. I got the insurance replacement phone on Monday, and realized that my SMS backup app decided to save the backed up texts on the phone's internal memory instead of the sd card, like you would expect it to, as you are backing things up in case something like this happens...I went to retrieve the file from the internal storage by connecting it to my computer and here is the weird thing that happens when i do that:
When I go into Computer on Windows 7, it shows the motocast removable drive, and two other ghosted removable drives, that would normally be the MOTO and sd card drives, but for some reason it says that they ccannot be opened because a disk needs to be inserted into the drives..I have no idea what I can do to get around this and access the internal storage.

Jun 25, 2010My E63 crashed after a software update last night. I seem to have recovered most stuff, but now can't access my emails from the Active Home Screen. It shows that new emails have arrived, but when I click on the icon - nothing happens. Just stays on the home screen. I can access emails by going Menu-Installations-email, but this is a bit of a faff!
Any ideas? I'm using the Nokia Messaging email for my Hotmail account. It all went smoothly for the last year....

Aug 30, 2010I dropped my BlackBerry Bold 9000 on the weekend and damaged the LCD screen. The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? A DIY repair -- this is out of warranty anyway -- looks straightforward, but I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a new OEM part to replace the LCD screen.

BB Bold :: Downloading Contents With Default Browser Keeps Failing
Jan 3, 2012Whenever I try to download content with my bb's browser it only downloads for a 1 or 2 min then it says download failed. Is there something wrong with my bb or is there some setting I need to change?

May 21, 2010Is there a way of Passwording or locking access to the contents of the SD card as i transport things from work on it and do not want it viewed by unauthorised people if it got in to the wrong hands (before anyone says anything no its not dirty pictures lol ). If i could lock the memory card it would make it that bit more secure.

Nov 9, 2012I broke my Samsung S3 screen. I purchased it outright from Telus last week. Its just the glass and it is still working. I had insurance on it so probably it will cover it. They need repair estimate. Called Samsung and they only have one 3rd party repair shop in Montreal. So I have to ship it to them,and then wait for 2 weeks to get an estimate. Telus said, it takes 2-6 weeks for the process.I am going out of the country in 3 weeks or less and wanted to get a better timing.

I've been reading other responses for a similar problem but it seems like most of them have not activated the new phone yet and were able to wipe the phone using the Android Device Manager. Since I've already activated my new phone, if I use ADM it finds my new phone and not my old phone.
Is there a way to wipe the data off of the old phone with a broken screen after I've already activated my new phone?

Aug 27, 2010my LCD screen has broken. The phone was in my pocket while i was changing a flat tire, after that it was broken. The phone still works, however inside the LCD display has some strange black lines and a piece of the display remains black. I sent several emails through the SE website. The first reaction was that i had sent an email to the wrong support, and that they have forwarded my message to the appropriate support dept. From that request i haven't heard anything yet ( 1 week ago). Since i bought my phone online, the phone originated from Hong Kong. So i sent an email to Hong Kong support. They replied to update the software using the SEUS. I sent them a reply that updating the software didn't help, but i have not received another reply since. I also sent another support request to what i believe is the right support for my location (Aruba, Caribbean), but i didn't get a reply, not even a confirmation of my support request.
