View 1 RepliesAny have an idea why a roller ball would stop working and how to activate it again?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe roller ball (scroll pad) on my blackberry curve is frozen. Tmobile suggested it software due to it is not a moving mechanical part. This is an unlocked phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Curve 8900 and my keyboard and roller-ball seem to be frozen. I had no issues at all on yesterday and then in the evening today everything just sort of...froze. The ball will scroll but I cant click on anything or use ANY of the keys. It registers as getting texts in and my light is blinking but, like I said, I can't access anything at all. I have removed the battery for nearly 12 hours to no avail.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRoller ball rolls fine but nothing scrolls on screen. It is stuck highlighting the email icon and won't go anywhere else. The ball rolls smooth, it doesn't feel like anything is stuck. I've pulled the battery and cleaned the track ball - still nothing. It's like there is no connectivity.
View 5 Replies View Relatedscroll ball doesn't work. there is nothing like NOKIA as we can easily view messages through NOKIA PC Suite
View 2 Replies View Relatedwas told that the ring does not come off. Have used cloth and rubbing alcohol to clean the ball...what next?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 2 month old 9900 Bold and my roller "pad" is now unresponsive. I removed the battery and re-booted but still "frozen".
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy track ball stopped working correctly and I was advised by my friendly T-Mobile store clerk to use rubbing alcohol on it. it worked!! I can now scroll up & to the right which I could not do..However, the two keys to the right of the track ball stopped working. "back key" and the hang up/power key. They dont do anything.. Also, when pushing the track ball in as to utiltize the "enter function" also does not work.
View 14 Replies View RelatedThe other day while at Six Flags in Atlanta (them park for those of you who don't know it), a group of my friends and I were having a blast. We waited in line for the Superman ride and eventually when we were boarding my friend looked at me and said:
"Dude, what do I do with my phone?" To which I replied..
"You brought your iPhone 4??!" (I, and others in our group, had all left our iPhone 4s at home)
"Yeah, I'll just put it in this pocket *slides in pocket*, it should be fine"
"I suppose" I replied
Needless to say we were all more than thrilled after an hour of waiting, so I wasn't very concerned that my friend was an idiot, and figured he'd hold on to his pocket with his dear life while we rode the ride.
Halfway through the ride, a person in front of me had change fly out of their pocket and almost hit me the face, at which point I realized, my less-than-average-IQ friend, had more than likely had the phone slip out of his pocket while he held his hands in the air pretending to be Superman.Yep, it was gone. While getting off the ride it looked as though my friend had just seen a ghost (forgive my terrible examples). The phone had fallen out somewhere randomly and we had no idea where it was.
Skipping a couple of hours. Our group is driving home and one of our friends said, "Hey Alex, I'll call your phone and see if it was found my anyone."(Trying to hurry the story up). He called, it rang, a woman picked up and said that the phone had nearly destroyed a group of people walking on a sidewalk in the theme park as the ride came screeching by, but she informed us that the phone had a bunch of scratches on the back, and a chip in the glass in a corner, but overall was in working condition (and she had even managed to play with it since my friend didn't have a passcode).So...the phone survived a pretty epic fall, with only cosmetic issues (or so we were told). My friend has arranged to meet the woman soon, who happens to live not to far from us and get the phone back and pay her $25 bucks for keeping it. (She isn't interested in stealing the phone, she said her own phone is fine)
If the woman holds true to her word and doesn't take the phone, I'll try and post pictures of the phone whenever my friend gets it back...
I have had my bold 9000 since it was released and lately the scroll ball has been a pain it wont let me scroll down. I`ve cleaned it with alcohol also put the phone on its face on a flat surface rolled it around it that way. any other ideas?

It bugs the **** outta me.. what is the little clicking pad under it called so I can buy a new one? Or if someone can just provide a link that would be great.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe track ball on my BB Curve 8330 will scroll left and right but not up or down, which really limits my use of it. I tried taking out the battery, cleaning the ball with alcohol, turning it off and back on. The ball seems loose - not sticky.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my BlackBerry Pearl for 2 years and now the Trackball won't move left or right. I can only text, call and send emails but can't use the phone fully. Both T Moblie and Littlewoods.com (who I bought it off) can't help as the warrenty is over now. I am unhappy with this phone now. I got a Blackberry as it's one of the best phones, but not for me now. What can I do to fix it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently my ball has not been clicking. I can push it in and select an item, but it does not give me a click feeling. Not sure what it is, but that bothers the **** out of me. I bought a new ball, put it in, but doesn't click still. I bought my phone off eBay in July when it came out, so I can not add insurance since it's been after 30 days obviously. What do I have to do, or buy to fix this? Also, when I opened it up, I noticed the little board where the clicking mechanism is can shift and you can move it around a tad bit.

I Find without the trackball the phone looks very sleek I know blackberry is one of the guys started with trackballs even they are getting rid off it and having trackpads so what is the point of a trackball when you have a touch screen phone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a persistent problem with my phone Track Ball navigation. It keeps getting stuck and does not scroll. I got it fixed by paying a good amount of repairing charge. The phone worked fine for a week but again the track ball has stopped responding. Its creating a huge problem and I do not know where to get it fixed. I am extremely dissatisfied with the phone and Blackberry services.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy trackball was smashed today on my blackberry curve, (beyond repair I will need a new phone) the rest of the phone works. I know how to get to my messages with the short cut, but how do I scroll through each one, and when I am in a message is is possible to scroll while in a message? I have two picture mails that need to be viewed and sent to my e-mail. FYI- when I enter the messages using the short-cut "M" it puts me on the date so I cannot move, hitting the enter key defaults me to send an e-mail!!!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI scratched off the Verizon logo off my 6 month old BB Tour. At the beginning the track ball would get stuck every once in a great while and it didn't bother me because it wouldn't be that often. Well now it gets stuck ALL the time. Now if I take it to a Verizon store will they trade it since its still under warranty? I also have insurance for it, will the insurance take it back with the logo scratched?

View 8 Replies View RelatedOK I have checked other threads and havent found a solution...it could be that there isn't one but somehow I am optimistic. Saturday night my phone worked fine. I go to bed wake up and my scroll ball wont click. It scrolls fine but does not select when pressed. I took it to Verizon, they claim water damage. I haven't dropped it in water or anything like that so I am not sure how that's possible. They replaced my trackball and it still doesn't work. Any additional ideas? I can go the Asurion and replace it but don't really want to do that for something as minute as this.
