i have EDGE on my blackberry 9700.. but its been showing GSM and i am unable to check my mails, neither my bbm is activated, messengers, etc etc... I have done basic switching off and on, taking my SIM off for a while and switching it on again.. But none has worked.

i have one piece of 9700 and i live in the UAE and have a 3g contract with my provider. But when i use the mobile it shows small edge icon and not big one.My simcard works in another bb 9700 but not this one, can anyone help me out?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have come to go into the gallery on my S6E today and it is suddenly showing 'No Items'?The photos are still on the phone as I can see them in file explorer but the gallery app doesn't seem to want to see them!I have tried clearing the cache of the gallery app and also restarting the media scanning service and also rebooting but nothing seems to work.
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, I cannot get the weather to show up on the edge screen along with the time and date.
What I've tried:
* Going to Settings > Edge Screen > Information Stream (switched to on) > Weather (with Edge screen switched to "On")
* Going to the Weather Widget > More > Settings > Edge Screen set to on and Use Current Location set to on as well.
The odd thing is that I did see the weather show up on the edge screen just once before, but how to get it back again.
I have only had my Edge 4 days i noticed this morning my pictures were not showing in the gallery. I tried restarting and still not showing. They are on the device storage though. But i can not figure out how to get them back to the gallery. Strangely enough, the pictures I took yesterday are in the gallery.
I have called Tmobile and Samsung both Are unsure of the issue. This is my last effort to get the problem resolved with this phone before I reset it. How to resolve this or is a reset needed?
for past few days bb curve started showing gsm insted edge . i checked with other mobiles they are working fine.i switched off and restaterd it .but no use . i wiped all the settings also but it is not changing.

I've tried hi accuracy mode in the settings, wiped the cache, ininstalled maps. All without success. Even Google earth is reporting the wrong location. what I can do to resolve it? Factory reset? How good a job does the restore feature on the pc version of smart switch do at restoring the phone?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using bb 8110 pearl and I used bis plan 2 months ago and everything worked fine for me and I deactivated and 1 month ago I reactivated it but edge is showing in small letters and I called 2 service provider and they told me my plan is activated and it is same as what I was using before. I did everything like battery pull out, wipe out, upgrade and downgrade and sending registration message from host routing table and also tried on-pff data services. I am calling daily service provider but they said my plan is activated and working but I cant get use anything. I read somewhere if pin is blocked by rim then cant use net services. But I don't know even if mine is blocked. In status I can see pin and imei.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my Homescreen Instead of 3G/GPRS/EDGE it gives me edge/3g/gprs Which means that BIS isnt activated on my account.I cannot access my Email or Browser because the BIS is not activated,I called my Carrier "Etisalat" Customer support nearly 20 times, And Everytime they Ask me to remove the battery and re-plug! Last time i checked they told me that in their systems it appeared my blackberry's BIS was indeed activated, But on my BB it was still edge, So I think the problem might be from the BB/Sim Card.I have been having this problem 2 months now and I would really appreciate your help.FYI i have tried all these steps(but didn't work):

I'm using a Verizon BlackBerry Bold 9650 unlocked in India since the past 5-6 months working fine but since the past 12 days I am not been able to receive any blackberry data services. My e-mails, BBM, Internet nothing seems to work but I am able to use text messaging and make voice calls like any other phone. I have tried every and all methods to make it work, I have replaced my Sim-card twice and even reinstalled and updated my phone software three times. Vodafone(India) is my current service provider and they have all services active on my number but my phone doesn't seem to receive any. My sim card is working fine with other phones but no sim card works in mine.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else having problems with dropped calls when switching from UMA to 3G? Where I work I do not have a signal in the building, so I keep my WIFI on so I can both make and receive phone calls while inside.
The problem occurs when I'm on the phone and step outside. I lose my connection with the router, and instead of switching from UMA to 3G, my call is dropped, and it takes my phone about 10 seconds to find the 3G signal.I was hopping that upgrading the .442 would solve the problem, but it has not
Always maintained a very strong 3g signal, 5 bars always no matter where I was. The last 3 or 4 days my signal started dropping like crazy to EDGE - edge - to gps or whatever to no signal. Did everything to try and fix it. Called T-Mobile about the problem and they said no problem we are sending you a new 9700. I will have it Wednesday afternoon. I asked if it will be a new one or refurbished, she said a new one. You can't beat that with a stick. They have the best customer service out of all the carriers. Just wanted to tell my recent experience with my carrier.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently moved to a brand new AT&T BB9700, it is just awesome, the best change from an old Curve. The thing is I'm having serious problems with the Battery. I'm having annoying and unexpected "blackouts" or "shutdowns", wheterver you may want to call them, with an apparently perfect battery level. Please take notice that the first charge of my BB9700 device was for a full charge as indicated by some of you for 16 hours.
Ever since, I'm having a perfect 3G and EDGE connection, been very careful not leaving open applications, but there are times, when having let's say 30% to even 60% apparently battery level, that the BB9700 completely shuts down, unoperative, without any kind of alert! No low battery led, or indication on the screen whatsoever. This is freaking me out, because this is not supposed to work like that.
I've been reading that there are some of you that have a perfect full day or even more of a regular "BB usage" meaning email, conversations, web browsing, etc. I'm 90% sure the Battery is damaged or faulty, so I need you help to guide me if there is something I'm doing wrong (I think not , and besides need your orientation on how to ask RIM/BB for a replacement battery if effectively my battery is not working as it should, and as I paid to be working!
I already have data plan on my sim and few days back all of a sudden the EDGE became small letters. Tried registering host and tried doing hard reset and even tried upgrading OS to 6.0 but nothing worked.note that i had BES account configured on this BB device and everything worked just fine until Thursday October 6th.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an unlocked TELUS Storm playing GSM on a Philippines carrier called Smart. The data connection and call reception quality here has been nothing but horrible. Dropped calls/Calls failed, etc are pretty rampant around here (no matter what part of town you're in)
Anyway, I'd _like_ to think it may be something to do with the fact that the device is not Smart authorized/sold device. However, the backward nature of cellphone networks here could argue me down.
Long story short, now that you know my troubles.. when I'm on a full GPRS/EDGE connection, I pull up the browser. Once I start getting ready to type in a URL, the GPRS/EDGE goes to gprs/edge. It happens about 98% of the time. This same thing happens when I go to URL from an email/sms etc. I can't seem to figure it out. I've been on .328, but upgrading to .419 as we speak. Thoughts would be nice.
My bbm icon is not showing up but when I go into blackberry app world it says I have it, anyway to make it come back.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Bold 9900. I haven't used it much for about three months and when I tried and turned it on, it shows me the red cross on a battery. Initially I thought the problem lies with the batteries as they hadn't been charged for a few months. I tried different methods to bring it back to life and by luck, I managed to charge the phone and it worked for 2 days.
Then I tried to restart my phone. It had almost full battery then. It turned off and then the red cross on the battery came up again. So I thought it might be a problem with the software so I made the stupidest mistake by connecting it to my computer and trying to repair the software.
Now my Blackberry is not turning on and constantly shows me the red cross. When I do manage to charge it, it gives me error 507. And when i try to connect it to my computer and repair it, the red cross comes up when the desktop software is "waiting for device to initialise". I've had this phone for about 9 months and it worked fine until I neglected it for some months.
All of a sudden the emails that normally come to my blackberry are not showing in the messages folder as they usually would? All I can see in my messages folder is a duplication of my text messages? Which I already have in my text messages folder. Have I inadvertantly changed a setting here or is there something wrong with my phone? I can see the emails arriving and read them but once they are read they disappear!?
