View 1 Replies View RelatedHave a Droid X which will randomly drain its battery in an hour or two due to the com. motorola.blur.service.main consuming 100% of the CPU.I am unable to determine any trigger for this event. On most occasions my only warning of this occurring is that the phone will become very hot due to the CPU load. This event will typically occur every day or every other day. This behavior has occurred with all versions of Gingerbread. It behaved properly on Froyo and Eclair. The first occurrence of this behavior coincided with the original Gingerbread update.Phone is and always has been running a complete stock OS (not rooted). The phone is in perfect condition with no physical damage of any kind.
The process in question and coincidental rapid loss of battery capacity has been verified via SystemPanel. This phone is NOT running any type of automatic/interval task killer, virus scanner, or any other snake-oil type battery improvement software.(SystemPanel is not an automatic task killer, it is simply recording per-process CPU consumption/battery drain at 15 minute intervals). The phone is used almost exclusively for business-related tasks, i.e., as a phone, for email, calendaring, and occasional web browsing.
I have started to take note of an issue that started out small, but is becoming a slight drag. At times it happens that when trying to scroll the cursor on the Bold 9700 (touch-pad) to a specific location to type, it seems to have a mind of its own and moves full speed upwards of the page. When trying to force it down it moves accordingly, but the instant my finger leaves the touch pad, it moves back up-wards. Any ideas on this behavior? I tend to do a quick wipe of the phone face area and touch pad, but doesn't help much. It also happens, peculiarly when trying to enter a contact info, or trying to type a message. I am thinking some kind of static or something?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm inquiring about the accuracy of the cursor, it seems a bit temperamental at times, not as smooth as the Internet Browser. I have been using Opera Mini for the past three weeks and I still haven't got used to how the cursor works on it. Is there a way to make it so it's like the Internet Browser, or if it's the same with other BlackBerry 9700 devices?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have just upgraded to the new Bold 9930 and I'm experiencing intermittent issues with the touch screen where it appears to have a mind of its own. Specifically the cursor will randomly scroll up without user input. Sometimes it's a line or two but usually it's all the way back to the top of the content currently being displayed on the screen.
That is to say that I was doing something to make it happen like touching the screen with multiple fingers but I have observed the actions with absolutely no contact with the screen so it can't be inadvertent touching. Then I thought that it might be the screen protector I installed.
I use the Invisible Shield products by Zagg so I uninstalled the screen protector and carefully cleaned the screen with a microfiber cloth but it continues to randomly scroll. I have no apps installed other than what the phone came with and I have tried with and without a memory card installed but the random behavior continues.
my voiceover came on andi figured outhow to shut it off. Now I am unable to scroll or type!

I have been able to get into the internet without any problem, but I find that I can only type the domain (www.....) - it does not let me type any other information. So I cannot write things, post or access mail, for example, because that requires you to actually type things. All this browser lets me do is hover over the box where you type things in, but not actually type anything on it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI changed my lock screen to finger print this morning. Typically I just have it set to swipe, but wanted it on for the day, I do that periodically. This evening I went to change it back and the option for swipe and no lock arent available. They say, " turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage." I tried looking through these areas and didn't find anything. I didn't change any of those settings or install any apps that may have changed it (Android pay is deactivated).
View 4 Replies View RelatedOne problem I am having is that I will occasionally get an error message when trying to play a media file that I know the phone supports that says "the player does not support this type of file", or something like that. If I turn the phone off and back on, it plays fine, but will then give me the error later on in the day. The types of files I am trying to play are mp3 and xvid avi. One idea I have is that the music player widget is cause the problem because if you play an mp3, but then try to do something else while it plays(multitask) it will not play in the background like it used to. You have to actually go into the media player and create a now playing list. This is very annoying to me as I play a lot of media on my phone throughout the day and currently have to restart my phone 2 or 3 times.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Straight Talk, and need to adjust my APN settings so I'll get high speed data. I know what the correct settings are.
The problem is that I need to change MVNO type and MVNO value, but they're both grayed out, so I'm unable to tap on them to change them. MVNO type is grayed out and set to GID and MVNO value is grayed out and set to deff. I need to change them both to 'not set'.
I called Motorola, they were useless- kept telling me to make sure cellular data was enabled. I looked at my old phone (a Nexus 5) and MVNO type isn't grayed out on it.
I have a new HTC one M8 and a 64gb sd card. Last week my phone deleted an album that was playing fine. Put the songs back on the phone, played for a couple of days and now says that won't play - "unable to play this type of audio file".
View 2 Replies View RelatedAlthough my WMV formatted Videos play fine on my home computer, I had no problem transferring them to my Bionic SD Card. Rather than playing, a small blue box opens at the bottom, which says "unable to open this type of file". Confirmed that the pre-installed Player should play MP4 and WMV. I tell them about my error message, and they recommend downloading the VLC Media Player (which works great on all files on my home computer, even on AVI and FLV files). Still won't play, so they refer me to Motorola, but before I call them, I also download, the seemingly popular MoboPlayer and MX Video Player.
The Motorola second level of support tells me to convert them from WMV to WMV, although my experience with Motorola's Tech support is that I sense that due to our mother tongues, it might be my fault for not parsing my words carefully enough. Feel free to contribute your WMV (or MP4 experience) to this thread, as the last advice that the Motorola Level 2 Tech Support gave me was to go to "setting", then "privacy" and then "restore data reset".
My new X6 arrived today. My initial reaction was fairly positive but I have a few questions and would be grateful for some advice please.First off, my old phone (N95) had an extremely handy Home Media Server feature. I would've thought the X6 would have something similar considering it is a multi-media type device. However, i'm unable to find such a feature. Could someone advise if Nokia have dropped the HMS for this model please?
Also, most of my passwords for internet logons and email etc were all created using a generator with random letters, numbers and characters. On my N95, I was able to copy/paste this info and save a lot of time when setting up mail accounts and other apps. I know the X6 does support copy/paste but the paste option isn't present for many password boxes. Is there a way around this please?

I recently got a new email address because my old email address was deactivated. I am now unable to log on to that email address. I updated my Apple ID to my new apple id on my mac and it worked fine! However, when I got on my iPhone I was immediately instructed to enter my password to my old apple id on iCloud, and when I did it was denied. It will not let me log out of my old apple id without the password, and my password does not work for it now that I changed my email address. I have literally tried everything. I reset my phone, and was still prompted to enter the apple Id from my old email address, I even put my phone into recovery mode and reset it. However, after all of this it is still not working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S6 T-Mobile version that I have had for about 2 weeks now. So far I have been pretty happy with it, specially as I came from an iPhone 5s. However I am having an issue that is really annoying.
I have a fitbit charger hr tracker connected to the phone. When I use the activity tracker function of the fitbit app I am unable to unlock the phone at all. The screen stutters and takes a while to fully load when pressing the button and the majority of the time it will fade out, not even giving me the ability to use a fingerprint to unlock or to swipe if the smart unlock is on.
As this point, I am not sure if this is caused by the fitbit app or if it is the GPS that does it. With the exception of the rare time it unlocks for me, I need to restart the phone each time.
I went ahead and cleared both caches, after looking up how to do it. Unfortunately it does not appear to have worked at all. I am seeing the same symptoms. I noticed a further symptom as well. I started playing music during a walk and the bluetoothplayback was periodically interrupted. A stutter of some sort.
I will next be ruling out BT issues using wired, as I have never had issues with this headset before I think it is related.
The other thing I noticed was that I was able to put it into airplane mode and while still stuttering severely, I was able to unlock the phone though with much hesitation. My next step will also to be trying this same task without the GPS on, seeing if that makes a difference.
I have a iphone 3 and I am unable to download ringtones because I have version 4.2.1 and its wants version 5.0 but the iphone 3 wont go up to that version is this correct and is there anything I can do
View 1 Replies View RelatedI cannot get the personal hotspot to work. Even though I've confirmed with Verizon that it is turned on for the right hand set on the account, when I tried to turned it on on my iPhone it just prompts me to contact my carrier either via phone or website. I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1.1 and I've tried the following:
1. resetting the network setting.
2. changing the phone's name to a single word without spaces nor special characters.
3. reset the whole phone.
4. combinations of the above several times.
These are supposed to be workable solutions based on what I've read online, but they didn't work for me. My online search kept leading me to an imaginary solution that states:Another way is to retype the access point name in. Go to Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data, scorell down and fill in an access point name under "Internet Tethering" for APN. I call it imaginary because I do not see this on my phone anywhere. Under network there's only the option to turn cellular data on or off, and under statistics there's a cellular data usage. I don't see "APN" or "Internet Tethering" anywhere.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy new Bold 9900 has a bug that interferes with typing. It occurs in all applications (eg SMS messaging, typing in the web browser, email, logging on to an application, etc. The specific problem is:
1. when i press "p" it types as "xp" - eg "happy" comes out as "haxpxpy"
2. when i press "x" it types as "xp" - eg "hex" comes out as "hexp"
3. when i press "b" it types as "b" then "enter" - ie "big" comes "big"
4. pressing the "enter" key generates a "b" followed by and enter.
- I have the latest software on the device.
- I have performed the battery out while powered on reset.
- I can't call any blackberry tech support (is there a number or email address?)
- the problem came after my first day of use; it went away temporarily (for 1 day) after I reinstalled the asian character support applications on the device using the Desktop Software on my Mac. It then returned and I am living with it. Unable to text, email, type in passwords to websites...essentially, the phone is useless.
The strange thing is when I plug power into it, I can see the screen for a moment then it dims. It will ring, but you cannot answer, as I said, none of the keys will prompt the phone to do anything. I connect the phone to the PC and it detects and asks for password. Here is my problem. When I type in the password, it says it is the incorrect password. I know this is the password. I am on the 4th attempt, so I am stopping because I am aware of the security wipe. This happened previously so I had to turn off the password on my blackberry so I could connect it to the PC

View 2 Replies View RelatedI searched the forum and found this problem mentioned a few times in the past, but the solutions are all for older OS, that is not applicable to the current 6.0 OS. There does not seem to be a "Dial From Home Screen" option to check any more.
Used to be, typing the beginning of a name from the Home screen brought up matches in the Contacts list so you could easily call them. Now when I type a name, other apps (mail, texts, etc) will display matches, but nothing from contacts. Indeed, dialing from the Home screen doesn't work at all -- I can't even type in a number.
