I am unable to type anything on the touch screen keyboard. The keyboard pops up when required but unable to type anything.I even tried removing the battery with the power still on and inserting it back but this did not help.

But when I do that, I always open the manage connections option. Can someone explain how to get it to show wo opening the physical keyboard?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy 8830 is now falling apart, after being of great service for more than 2 years. I am with Verizon. I cannot figure out which blackberry to go to.
Here is my must-have list:
- Actual keyboard (I cannot type on a virtual keyboard on a touch screen).
- Worldwide coverage. i.e. at least as much coverage as with my current 8830+SIM card
- WiFi
Basically I am looking for something similar to 8830, but with WiFi being the only added feature.
I changed my lock screen to finger print this morning. Typically I just have it set to swipe, but wanted it on for the day, I do that periodically. This evening I went to change it back and the option for swipe and no lock arent available. They say, " turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage." I tried looking through these areas and didn't find anything. I didn't change any of those settings or install any apps that may have changed it (Android pay is deactivated).
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy new Bold 9900 has a bug that interferes with typing. It occurs in all applications (eg SMS messaging, typing in the web browser, email, logging on to an application, etc. The specific problem is:
1. when i press "p" it types as "xp" - eg "happy" comes out as "haxpxpy"
2. when i press "x" it types as "xp" - eg "hex" comes out as "hexp"
3. when i press "b" it types as "b" then "enter" - ie "big" comes "big"
4. pressing the "enter" key generates a "b" followed by and enter.
- I have the latest software on the device.
- I have performed the battery out while powered on reset.
- I can't call any blackberry tech support (is there a number or email address?)
- the problem came after my first day of use; it went away temporarily (for 1 day) after I reinstalled the asian character support applications on the device using the Desktop Software on my Mac. It then returned and I am living with it. Unable to text, email, type in passwords to websites...essentially, the phone is useless.
I have a Bold 9790. All of a sudden I cannot type the number keys. In the past when I have typed the numbers it took me to my dialing screen where I can insert the phone number. But now it does not do anything....
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the Motorola BT keyboard with mousepad, Photon, and HD dock.Keyboard and mouse pointer work fine when phone is in the mode mirroring the phone display, but when in Webtop, only the mousepad works. None of the other keys function. That is, I can go to text messaging with the mouse, but when I get there, can't type anything. Can go to the google search section, and get the flashing cursor, but can't type anything.

The screen went black, or The screen got mirrored. but everything still worked when The keyboard was not sliced open. Yesterday, my bb just went black when i opened The keyboard and this time, the screen stayed black. I think there is something wrong with the software on the chip that controles the visual for the screen. Because even when i had mirrored view, it still responded on the touchscreen, but the things you saw just didnt match with What you touched. What can I do? View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a firm-issued BlackBerry that frequently locks itself after long periods of inactivity. I also choose to manually lock the phone from time to time. When coming out of lock mode and needing to enter my password, when in portrait mode, I sometimes get the MultiTap keypad and sometimes get the the full keypad. There doesn't appear to be any consistency in which one the BlackBerry will choose to offer me.
If I have a choice, I would prefer to use the SureType keyboard or even the full keyboard every time if possible. Can anyone lend any insight as to how to set this default keyboard when coming out of lock mode?
Somedays ago the keyboard on my screen stopped displaying, then one day my phone started deleting data and I had to take the battery out to stop it., and when I put it back again there is no screen display..

I have a major problem. Every time I try to type the letters I type double up. For example if i type "mum" it comes out as "mzumz" the only problem there then I am not able to delete it.
