View 2 RepliesJust got my torch last night! yayyy! I did read in one of the threads there is a way to bring the virtual keyboard down by swiping up and down (I think). But when I do that, I always open the manage connections option. Can someone explain how to get it to show wo opening the physical keyboard?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the torch 9800 and there appears to be a bug with the on screen keyboard. After viewing a few pdf files in Repligo Reader I went to compose an email. I noticed that the on screen virtual keyboard was missing the outlines around the individual keys and the alt, shift, language selection and delete keys are not displayed. Also the background of the keyboard is all gunmetal grey and the keys are white with no outlines as mentioned above. I can still use the keys, touch the area where the keys are not displayed and the functionality remains intact. This happens in both horizontal and vertical mode. If I change the vertical keyboard to compact mode in options the vertical keyboard is displayed normally. I have reproduced this issue, reported it to the Repligo Reader developer and the only way to resolve it is a hard reset or full device restart.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using Torch 9800. Currently, the virtual keyboard doesn't appear when slider is closed. The indicator is also grey (not active). In the menu, "show keyboard" item is not listed. When I take the headset in landscape position, the screen is still in Portrait mode.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Torch 9800 and for some reason the digital keyboard went missing - I cannot get access to it - and furthermore when I tilt or turn my phone the screen does not adapt to the new position.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way by touching something on the screen?
View 10 Replies View RelatedAs an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy 8830 is now falling apart, after being of great service for more than 2 years. I am with Verizon. I cannot figure out which blackberry to go to.
Here is my must-have list:
- Actual keyboard (I cannot type on a virtual keyboard on a touch screen).
- Worldwide coverage. i.e. at least as much coverage as with my current 8830+SIM card
- WiFi
Basically I am looking for something similar to 8830, but with WiFi being the only added feature.
I just received my n900. I did not figure out how to run on virtual keyboard.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm sure this is a simple one to those of you who have been using the N900 a while, but when using the virtual keyboard, how do you accept the suggested word while typing? I've tried every arrow on the keyboard and am stumped.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn the physical keyboard I use the right arrow on the bottom right corner. Where is this button on the virtual keyboard?
View 3 Replies View RelatedToday adventitiously i found bug. If in album mode tap on key "12!?", release and without delay tap on space then process com.sonyericsson.textinput.uxp dies. This is no so critical, but service restarts(?) with broken functionality: text in field is not visible and phisycal keyboards can't change layout.

I have rebooted several times and restored to an earlier date when I didn't have this problem, but to no avail.
it's essentially dead. The touch screen and everything else worksfine, but the phyisical keyboard won't work.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently acquiredthe 5230 and cannot access the virtual keyboard from the keyboard icon in messaging I only get the handwriting /alphanumeric option to choose when the keyboard icon is touched. I don't to have a "text input" option in "settings" as I have seen this suggested in other answers to keyboard problems but these were for differnt phones.Appreciate any advice.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a virtual keyboard but it won't sync with my iPad or iphone4 is there a solution to this problem really love my iPad & iPhone but I want to use my virtual keyboard :( help please ,,
Info:
iPhone 4, iOS 5.1
I got my E7 yesterday and encountered a problem today. When I try to write an sms or email on the virtual keyboard (phone slide closed in portrait format), the screen is not responsive at all. The screen is responsive when I press the "write message" icon on the homescreen, I can press any icon etc. and the phone works. Only when I open the virtual keyboard, does it stop responding. Only way out of the screen is to press the physical key on the bottom of the phone.
Anyone else encountered this? Could there be some weird setting that prevents me from using the virtual keyboard? The physical keyboard works fine.
I have been keeping recommending iPhone 4 to my girlfriend, who is going to get her Master degree from Columbia Univ and step into business world. And she said, "wow, it looks wonderful but too naive/childish for me".
And then I bought her the iPod Touch, just for casual use. (I would make Torch a great surprise since she always wants a Blackberry. Samsung sucks btw, we have had 3 Samsung phones and they are all crap - hardware-wise).
I love iPhone, but I could not live without a keyboard phone. Sorry Droid and iPhone fanboys, touchscreen just sucks for business users/ users mainly do texing and little cell-photo-taking.
If you are not a college boy, and you are a real businessman, I bet you would be as busy as me so 40% of your time is for emails/texting/notepad/calendar, 30% for phone calls, 20% or less for web browsing, and 10% for enjoying music when driving (or on subways while reading newspapers) and other multimedia functions.
And seriously, I only use my phone to take pictures of notes on whiteboard or product labels when I don't have a camera at hand. And if you really like taking photos, DSLR would do you good.
Do you really need a 800x600 display for texting?phone calls?. And how much do you rely on web browsing by cell phone? It's just for checking some information when you are outside.
Let's see what Torch does best from all kinds of reviews: Gizmo, Engadget, BGR, Crackberry....
1). Top notch keyboard - good for 40% of time texting/emails/notepad/calendar
2). Great call quality - good for another 30% of time, and no drop calls/death grips
3). WebKit Browser - enough for 20% of time web browsing - after all we all own laptops (you don't have one?)
4). Improved media experience - I am ok with just listening to music. I seldom watch videos on handheld devices - only nerds do it often.
Hence, the bottom line: is there any other good keyboard phone out there? (with a touch screen and not as ugly/huge as Droid)?
=) CPU is fine, Screen resolution is fine (I am really ok with texting and managing my business life with Bold's screen resolution).
After all, do you really spend 80% of your time on cell phone while you have friends and can do all the things on a computer?
I was using the full on screen keyboard and actually getting use to it, lot's of mistakes made but I was still going with the flow. I read a post yesterday that suggested switching to the Reduced Keyboard.
It made all the difference, I type a million times faster!!!! No need for the slider keyboard.I recommend to everyone out there, at least give it a shot and see the difference if you aren't already doing it.
