There is a little bug in the Bold 9780 with os version 6.0.0.570: If I restart my device, there comes always the dialog box "special menu". I must abort the involuntary dialog box with the button "cancel". I find neither an update nor a solution for that problem.

Sometimes it restarts and then back to normal but mostly it stucks in a restart loop (Red LED turns on as indication that phone is powering On. But it doesn't turn on and the process continues and LED keeps blinking). I tried to update OS version by using Desktop Manager Software, but still facing the same problem. And now i got no more updates for OS.

I've tried taking the battery out for 30 seconds, finding service books (it won't let me send), and i've tried checking if it was hidden, but i didn't know how to check that on the 9780. I've tried looking it up and every post says "from the home screen, press menu and then show all" but there is no regular menu option nor is there a show all.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have a problem with my bb bold 9780. the folders in the main manu keep changing their names from german to english (my selected language is german). e.g. the games and the application folder, the rest has still its german name. and also there appear new icons, some with a question mark in it (but on top it says sounds), some i don't know. it seems to me, that my bb kind of splits folders and than some of the icons show up in the main menu.
this started yesterday and so i updated my bb. after this everything was fine again. i deleted some of the apps that were installed with the update (Internet, myspace, ...) and after the restart there was the same problem again. i installed some new apps (slide lock, games, themes and password lock) before and some time after the problem started. i don't know if this has any to do with it.
I got my phone yesterday and thought to download PDF file from internet. Once I downloaded I pressed open it did and after I downloaded another one different one pressed open and I got this message "The document could not be opened because there is a pending dialog in Documents To Go. Please close the dialog and try again". I pressed ok and tried to close the application but it is still open and I can't close it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had my Bold 9000 for about two months. I bought it unlocked and have been using it with T-mobile. When I first got it, i upgraded it to the latest leaked os 5.0. The thing is, I had problems with it. First it would just randomly crash and restart and crash and restart, continuously tell it just drained the battery out. Sometimes, on restarts, the standard Blackberry ringtones would not work, and sometimes they would. Sometimes when it would restart after crashing it would say, "net_app_something_ (52) isnt working and was canceled". I assumed it was a bad leak and tried several different version. (and this same occurred with each OS. I would install it on my pc, on my buddy's who has an unlocked Bold 9000 on t-mobile just like me. In the end I gave up and went back to 4.6. Yesterday i tried the new, official OS 5.0.It worked at first, but then when I install the newest BBM, it started crashing again, until the battery was gone. So now I have reinstalled it, kept the standard BBM that comes with the OS. and also deleted Quickpull. thinking it might have to do with it as well. On a last weird note. It seems only to crash in the evening. In the morning it is perfectly fine, however once it passes 4pm , the crashing beings, non if this occurs with 4.6.
Any ideas? My friend and I are both lost. Sorry for the wordy post, but it is really difficult to describe the retardedness of this situation.
I receive quite a number of e-mails everyday via my blackberry torch and was wondering if there was a way to remove the box that comes up each time that you click on a link within an email, for example it will say 'continue to'..then the link.It just gets rather annoying having to press yes each time I receive a new e-mail.

There are 3 location settings,
1. GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile networks - this lets Google use any of these to find your location even if Wi-Fi or location is turned off. When this is switched on, you'll often find Google Play Services is one of the biggest issues.
2. Wi-Fi and mobile networks - this disables the GPS chip inside your Galaxy S6 Edge and is probably the least useful of the three options. Relying on just mobile networks and Wi-Fi will allow you to find your location quickly but will then use a lot of data and battery as it relies on your Wi-Fi and mobile networks to keep track of your location.
3. GPS only - this is actually the mode I use as it prevents Google scanning in the background (more on that below). It has its pitfalls in that it can take a while to find your location but the battery savings from not having Google scanning are plentiful.
We know that option 1 and 2 could lead to extreme battery drain because Google uses the location manager and wake up the device. When you attempt to turn on either the first or the second option, you're greeted with a prompt from Google to "Improve location accuracy". The option means that anonymous location data can sporadically be sent to Google even when no apps are running, and as a result, this can have a large impact on your battery life, especially when using Google Now or widgets that depend on location. If I choose one of these options I do not see the dialog anymore. Maybe I accidentally clicked "don' t show again".
How can I get the dialog back? When I enable the locations, it is always set to option 1, even if I had 3 the last time.

The user locked phones are dirt cheap. I have been looking at HTC phones primarily: Mogul 6800, Touch 6900, Touch Pro 6850 and the Diamond.
1) Could I reset or "flash" a user locked phone and make it useable?
2) Would I need special software or equipement?
3) Is this something so easy for the dealer that is selling the phone to fix that I should be skeptical if this is just an excuse to hide a more serious problem with the phone?
