I was using my BB Bold 9700, just texting then all of a sudden my screen started to mess up. I tried a battery pull, then all of a sudden all i get is a black and white screen (white lines on the right side of my screen)

And i can fix the problem by locking and unlocking the screen a few times and it goes back to normal but then like 5 minutes later it turns white again . Btw i tried reloading the os on my phone again it didnt fix the problem but i havent tried downgrading my os to os5 (now ive got os6). I dont know what happed is the something wrong with the software or with my lcd screen?

I woke up to a white screen with text that said "JVM Error 517" and the word Reset underneath it. I have tried battery pulls but get the same message. When I plug into desktop mgr, It recognizes the phone but can never connect. I have only had it for about 65 days.

View 1 Replies View Relatedand it won't go away. the phone still works, as I am able to receive and send calls. I can press buttons and see changes on the screen, but all i get are vertical lines. Sometimes when I hit the phone a few times and press the lock button, it would go back to normal, but then it will return. Is the LCD display broken? I've opened the BB to see if it was loose, it is not. I've taken battery out and re-inserted to no avail.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was recently received a brand new Bold 9700 from an aunt in Canada and I had only been using it in the UK for 3 weeks when the screen suddenly went completely white.I can still receive calls, and I can hear bbms and emails arriving but I can't see anything at all. I've have tried the battery pull many times but it still remains the same. I've been told that RIM usually offers a year's warranty on new products but because it was bought in Canada, none of the networks here in the UK are willing to take it in for repair.

I have removed the battery and put it back in and the only response to that it the red LED light coming on for a few minutes then coming off.

All of a sudden, a small black patch appeared on the bottom left side of the screen.It seemed the pixels stopped working at that portion, leadig to a blackout. However, after a couple of days the screen was working fine again. It worked properly for a good 1-1.5 months. Now, the black spot re-appeared but this time on the top left side of the screen.
View 2 Replies View Relatedhad my phone for a while and it usually did the white screen thing where I used to have to take out the battery and insert again, but recently it was working fine then all of a sudden the screen went dim. Even on the highest brightness the screen can go it was still dim, sometimes it would brighten up again but it eventually got dimmer and then did the white screen thing and turned off. Now whenever I turn it on (re-insert the battery etc) I get a fixed red light, then a few seconds later this goes and the keyboard lights up. Then nothing.I've searched for any resolutions but so far found none, I've even tried leaving the battery out for a while and then putting it back in and updating the software but this hasn't been usefull
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my blackberry a week ago and dropped it for the first time and now it has white lines on it.It's the bold 9700, i can slightly see the screen but there are a lot of white lines which makes it hard to see anything. I can really only see the top of the screen where the volume options are but it appears to be black and white.
It is still working fine the screen is just hard to see. I think it might be a connection problem?Any advice? and do you think RIM will replace it if I send it in? I'm on Rogers and live in Canada
My brand new phone goes into a white screen and locks up.T-Mobile said to reload the OS .330. Is that the fix?I did a back up and can reload the OS.When I go to restore my data, (after three times) about half way through, the BB loses connection to laptop.I get error "could not establish connection to device". BB reboots, and I still have no data.
Also, through all this, I was getting JVM Error 529.I kept pulling out the battery.
Question: Why the white screen of death? Why is my back up not restoring? Should I start over again? Is there a way to do a clean install and not install over the existing OS?
My Bold 9700 give APP ERROR 523 together with a WHITE SCREEN OF DEATH. don't know what to do, terribly frustrated (navigating this site did not help either) and about to smash this thing to the floor and get something else.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a bell blackberry bold 9700 unlocked. My provider is with rogers and I have purchased this phone about 5 months ago. About 2 - 3 times a day my bb 9700 screen will blank out and go completely white. I would have to do a battery pull and then my bb will restart and everything will be fine. I have wiped my phone, downgrade the software and upgrade it again. Still nothing is resolved with it blanking out 2 - 3 times a day.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi've had this happen to my 8900, and thought there was something wrong with the phone, but after doing a official update from t-mobile on mt 9700 the same thing happens. whe doing a battery pull and the phone reboots. only on the main screen (the screen with all the apps and folders) the screen is completely blank or white and the only way i can see the folders or apps is by highlighting them. only happened after i updated it and only happens when doing a battery pull, once i reset the wall paper it will be fine until i do another battery pull. i already uninstalled and reinstalled my blackberry desktop and try to reload and that didn't fix it. anyone had this issue or know how to fix it.

I've tried searching for a thread like this but haven't found any.My 9700 just randomly "rebooted" this morning, where the screen goes black and the red led light turns on for a couple of seconds. This has happened to me before on my old 9000, where after it would then start up again. Nearing the time when I replaced it, it would do it quite frequently (and to think it just started getting really bad AFTER the 1 year warranty on it expired!). So back to the 9700, the progress bar that comes up when you're starting up the device would then come up, and sometimes load for about half an inch, sometimes only up to an eighth, before the whole thing would start again - the screen would turn black, the red led turns on, and the progress bar would come up again.I pulling the battery out for a few minutes and putting it back in but its still doing it. I then pulled it out for about an hour and its still doing it again.

It's just a black screen with the bb logo on it. Tried to downgrade the OP, but still the same thing happens.

On my BB, when I press the lock button on the top left, the screen goes black and it locks. I'm sure I changed it to this at some point from something else however I don't know how or where etc. My friend's Blackberry (same Bold 9700) has a lock screen that shows a padlock to say it's locked but I don't get this? Any ideas? This lock screen displays her background image and a little padlock in the bottom corner etc.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Curve 8530. Several months ago, during daily use, the screen would all of a sudden go black. A battery pull would solve this problem for a while. Eventually this became more frequent. Symptoms progressed (it seemed that if I set the phone down too quickly it would reset) Finally, the phone would turn on, then go immediately to a white screen where it was undetectable by my computer. I contacted my service provider and they said the phone was toast and (amazingly enough) gave me a free loaner to use for the duration of my contract (all info transfered via an old backup, so nothing was lost) After my new phone was working I left my Curve plugged in at my office. Yesterday as I was leaving I looked at the phone again, and the screen was white and telling me to reload software 507.
I plugged it into my computer to begin the process and to my surprise the computer all of a sudden detected the phone and successfully upgraded the software. All looked great, I got past the password stage, and was just going to begin reloading my information when the screen faded to blank again. I still have the free loaner phone, so it's not a big deal, but it's bugging me as to what the problem could be. As of right now the computer can no longer detect the phone again
