Is there a way to setup a blackberry so that the e-mail in NOT truncated no matter how long the e-mail may be? or at the very least increase the amount of data shown before it gets truncated?
and the 2nd part to the question is, is there a way to download larger attachments in e-mails?
I've had a 9800 with Rogers since June and everything was great until this morning, every email I receive is "Message truncated due to size" ... now before you start copy pasting the 5mb or 8mb stuff, these email are plain text, 2kb - 45 kb....
I even sent myself a plain text email with "test" as a subject and "test" in the body and still the same issue.
I have set up 3 of my mail boxes on my C6-01. However whenever I receive a mail with attachments, I cant download or open them. It tries to download, stays at zero percent and then says "unable to perform operation"! Whats the use of such rush mail service which according to me is ridiculous. So if you want to download such attachments you either need to open your mail on PC or using browsers on your phone like opera mini. I just dont understand whether this is a bug or has been designed like that. I guess this problem has come up after Anna update
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I have BIS enabled for my BB Curve 8900 and an email account set up on it. The email works fine, I receive emails and I can send email messages from my BB. However, I noticed today that I do not receive emails on my BB that have attachments larger than 7 MB. I have the same email account set up in my Thunderbird client and everything works fine with it, I do get all these large emails. I contacted my service provider (Orange) and they could not figure this out.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new E7 configured with my corporate Exchange 2003 server account and my private gmail. E7 runs the most current SW P1.1 014.002.263.03.Mail/calendar/contacts sync works but opening a received mail with any attachment listed (even how tiny, like 1kb jpeg) on the mail application takes ages. If I click on a message on the mail list it can take upto 30 seconds before the screen shows the message. During the time the phone freezes, even the hardware buttons are not responding. The symptom is the same on Exchange and Gmail accounts. Messages not having any attachments open in about 4 secs. I have tried to delete the accounts etc. but no joy.The mails are received as push, I have tried also scheduled receiving, offline mode etc. but the speed is the same. Is anyone else seeing this and is there anything to be done? The speed of the mail application is so poor that it prevents me to use the E7 as the business phone.

I have following three mail accounts configured with my device;
1) Enterprise/ Office Mail ID (Folder Named as Desktop)
2) Yahoo Mail ID (Folder Named as Yahoo)
3) GMail ID (Folder Named as GMail)
Now in the Messages, Yahoo & SMS Folders; I am only able to view the mails from office mail id. The Messages folder which ideally comprise of messages from all the folders shows only the messages of the Desktop. Similarly for the Yahoo Folder. I am even not able to view my SMS in the SMS & MMS Folder.

Symptoms:
Open Attachment, retrieving attachment starts, I have noticed with a 30k pdf attachment will download and show, not legible though. Very slow.
With a 600k attachment retrieving freezes, have to keep clicking more until download is 100%. Attachment still not displaying correctly, shows just white screen.
I have two email accounts on my Bold and periodically it will not allow me to open emails. I can see new emails received but when I try to open it won't. Is this a space issue? Is there a way to purge deleted messages, when I had my Curve there was a way to purge deleted items.

I'm having an issue with Gmail (IMAP) not downloading attachments from myself! (I use Gmail to archive documents, etc). Same issue on my iPhone 4 and iPad 3, both iOS 5.1, using the default mail app with default "Gmail" account (IMAP) set up.They *were* both working fine, then I erased both devices for a clean install. Something is EXTREMELY bothering on iPhone and NEVER happens on other operating systems / platforms: Mail app on iPhone downloads the mail attachements, without asking me. It costs me a lot when this happens on a gsm network connection (not on wi-fi). It is normal in any mail client in the world to have the option of downloading only headers, or at least to decide when and if you want to download the attach.
Can this be set in anyway? Or is just one annoying thing that you cannot change? If so, is there a certain limit for the attachement file-size, that is used for the auto-download? I mean, above this limit, the attachements are not downloaded automatically anymore?

I've bought and set up my new Bold 9900 yesterday. Everything seems to be working fine, but email reception shows me some problems. I'm receiving all my messages they are not being shown to full extent though. I have the following settings:
- Message Display and Actions, Auto More checked
- Email Preferences: Enable HTML checked, Download images automatically checked, confirm external image download not checked
Now, just for example I receive the "I can has cheezburger" newsletter which is about 45 kB and includes links to external pictures. The Bold doesn't load the pictures and it truncates the message and shows "Truncated 15397 bytes". "More", "more all" doesn't load the rest of the message.
I am currently using a BB 9700 Bold and unable to attach when sending email a file with size more than 5 Kb.Everytime I try to use a attachment more than 5 Kb, I am getting to following message : Total attachment size exeeds the maximum allowed size.
1. Is there any way to fix that?
2. What is the maximum size of attachment that can be used?
Having problem downloading attachments with default email app. When clicked on the app says it is 'fetching' the document but often never works. I can go to a browser based client for, say yahoo mail or comcast mail and the attachment is quickly downloaded. Why the default email app is having this problem?

However, the same is working on the wireless network.I have probably reset my phone to factory settings/repaired the installation atleast 3 times in the past for other problems such as missing entries in call logs, slow response, etc. I am on Anrdroid 2.1 Random reboots happen almost thrice a week and phone response is very slow. I think I should go back to my blackberry.
