Verizon, Bold, 9650. A few days ago web browsing just stopped.It slowly looks like it wants to load the page and shows the page name, but after a long time nothing ultimately happens. I can send/receive emails, texts, calls, use apps, calendar, everything but websites, in both BIS 3G mode and WiFi.I haven't loaded anything new lately.
i currently puchased an unlocked blackberry 9650, and previously i had a 9700.when i put my Sim card it, i am unable to connect to the internet via Rogers wireless. whenever i go to the browser it always states that it is a Wi-Fi service. BUT when i connect via a wi-fi connection it works fine. So i don't understand the problem. I have a data plan and everything when i got my 9700, so i dont see why it wont work for 9650

My phone is 3 days old and did not have issues until last night. The browser allows me to initally connect ot a webpage, but will not allow me to click on any links. The cursor switches appropriately when just navigating vs. hovering over a link, but the track pad will not regist any "clicks".Has anyone encountered this or know of the fix?
So on my tour all I used was Opera Mini as my browser, but I can't seem to get Opera to work on my bold. It freezes up and the trackpad is wayyyy too sensitive. Hopefully Opera will fix this issue, but until then what is everyone using now? Bolt? BB browser?
Has anyone tried oprea or bolt browsers yet in their new bolds? I have bolt on my storm and gf tour and I really like it. I was wondering if anyone has had any issues yet?
My Blackberry Bold 9650 Browser won't work. I do have the blackberry data plan with AT&T and every time I attempt to open the browser, a message pops up "This is a Wi-Fi service. Please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connection and try again." When I try to change the browser option to internet explorer from Hot Spot browser there are not any other options that come up.
I have a question about the way the phone uses its internet services. I currently have the original Blackberry Tour 9630 with Verizon, and the browser works off of my signal. So whenever I have a signal, I have internet. Is this new Bold the same way? My sister has it and we were in the car today and it said internet coverage was not found. I was just curious if it was strictly JUST wifi or if it runs off the signal AND wifi. If somebody could help clear it up for me that would be great.
This is my very first post so please excuse me if I have posted my question/problem in the wrong section.My wife and I have VERY recently bought new Blackberry Bold 9650 phones, they are our very first smartphones. My wife loves to read so I went to the Blackberry App World and downloaded the app FREEBOOKS on her phone, the app itself installed just fine but every time I try to download a book for her, and even sometimes just SEARCHING for a book, it will give me an error message that reads
The server returned the following error while attempting to fulfill your request: "CONNECTION TIMED OUT".
Can someone PLEASE possibly help with this problem OR direct me to the correct section that can assist me. I have been to my Verizon store and they were absolutely NO help after waiting for over an hour.
Does anybody know how to change the minimum font size for web content? my new phone version 6 does not have the general properties option under browser options like my old phone which allows you to change the minimum font size
Got my first bb ever last night with the bold and I love it. But, I have a question: when browsing sites in the browser, when you hover a link aren't you supposed to be able to just push in the trackball button to 'click' the link? Its not working for me on any sites. I actually have to press the BB menu button and select "Open Link". (e.g on crackberry wallpapers, when i click on a specific genre of wallpapers like "ART", I have to select "open link" instead of just clicking the trackball). It might just be because I am not familiar with all the menu settings yet and this is a buried setting somewhere.
Almost everytime I go to use the browser, or an application that uses the browser (such as Poynte) I either get the error that it can't be used because the radio is off (which it is not), or that there is insufficient network coverage at this time and to try again later. Needless to say this is getting VERY old. I do had Quickpull scheduled to run everynight at 8pm. I took it in to Verizon and the woman there was extreamly unhelpful. The device itself is about 2 months old. I've searched the forums and found nothing like this.
Wondering if any of u have gotten ur verizon 9650? If so have u noticed ur trackpad left side being higher than right? I ask becuz as we all may know the sprint 9650 has that. Doesn't bother me...nor do I think its defect.
I own a Verizon BB Bold 9650 and I'm currently outside the US. I'm trying to use Google Maps and the GPS does not seem to be working. I recently upgraded from the Curve and this was never an issue. Any idea how I can fix it?
Just got a new 9650. Noticed that the right button to get to an application was not working. Sometimes worked but 90% of the time nothing.Spoke to provider and they sent another brand new phone. Same story. I did try other application associated with button still no responses.Really do not use that button a lot.Any one else having this problem? Any solutions? Not sure it worth the aggravation of return.
If anyone has any words of wisdom. I used my desktop manager to switch the devices. I went to my setup wizard and for some reason it will not let me add my user name or password. I tried adding the complete email address and just the user name. No go. It seems that I have had this little problem before I cannot remember how to fix it.
I am on my 2nd Bold 9650 in the last month. I exchanged the first as about 2-3 times a week the mic would stop working. I would only find out upon making a call and no one could here me speak back. I tried the hands free mic and attaching a headset. All did not work. I pulled the battery and it would work. My Sprint store exchanged me last week...it is happening again. I have backed up and wiped the phone and started fresh..
I've previously backed up my Old BOLD. How do I get that data onto my Replacement Device.When I go to "Switch Devices" It tells me to connect current Device.Well It's Dead (and ready to be burried) so what can I do?
I have a Bold 9650 6.0.My internet, facebook and other internet based apps are not workingI am getting emailsBBM is not really working, I messaged 5 people and only 1 was able to see my message and the others had no "D" Usually pulling out the battery works for me but i did it like 8 times today and still not working. I did a hard reset at the verizon store a couple weeks ago as this has happened before (more like 1x a week at least) I called verizon they told me to buy a new phone so they are no help I dont know if this is related to the outages they are experiencing or not but since this has happened before i figure not. It says "Browsing over the cellular network is not included as part of your current service plan. To browse use Wifi or contact your service provider to change your service plan." After being upgraded to .732 for a while, I have come in to my first problem. My Bluetooth is not working properly. When I receive a call or go to make a call it won't let me, it just picks up and hangs right up. I have never had a problem with Bluetooth before. Does anyone else have this issue from Sprint .699 upgrading to .732? I don't know if I should wipe and reinstall or just go back to .699, which I didn't have any problem with anyway? Thoughts?
I have an unlocked Blackberry Bold 9560 from Verizon wireless. I took the phone with me to Israel and got a sim card and blackberry service through a carrier here called cellcom. Everything appears to be working fine except for SMS.When I text some people they never get the text and I get no bounce back informing me of an error. On the other hand some people I can text fine. I think the problem has something to do with the country code and the leading 0 infront of all numbers here. All the numbers are stored in my phone as such.. 052-796-0124. The country code is +972 but does not need to be dialed. I can call these numbers no problem from my address book, but when I text there is no problem. When I recieve a text from people who I myself cannot text, I can reply no problem to their inital text. I cannot start a conversation however. I have tried playing with those smart dialing settings. I changed the country to Israel and have tried leaving it as a USA number and saying the numbers are 9 digits and to not dial the 1. Neither option works.Any ideas here?
I'm using a Verizon BlackBerry Bold 9650 unlocked in India since the past 5-6 months working fine but since the past 12 days I am not been able to receive any blackberry data services. My e-mails, BBM, Internet nothing seems to work but I am able to use text messaging and make voice calls like any other phone. I have tried every and all methods to make it work, I have replaced my Sim-card twice and even reinstalled and updated my phone software three times. Vodafone(India) is my current service provider and they have all services active on my number but my phone doesn't seem to receive any. My sim card is working fine with other phones but no sim card works in mine.
I have a seidio extended battery for my phone and had the seidio doc which is horrible and I recommend to no one. It's built cheap and can break very easy. The metal charging prongs on the seidio doc just broke so I switched over to my normal blackberry bold doc.The problem is when I charge my phone I get a ton of different things that happen. I have my phone set up to enter bedtime mode and turn my profile to silent during certain hours when the phone is plugged in to charge. During these times the phone will always enter bedtime mode but three different things happen:
1. Phone dims and displays a clock
2. Screen light stays on and keyboard is illuminated
3. Phone goes dark - All lights turn off
I just want the phone to go dark and charge and put my profile to silent during the times I have set up. I like the phone dimming but it's still a little too bright for me at night. Can anyone help or suggest what I can do?
I have tried deleting it and re-adding it (several times). Had the Sprint store try different options including a reeboot in their system. Had GoDaddy check their system. Pulled the battery while phone was on, and off. Nothing is working! It is the account I receive time sensitive work on. It is a Bold 9650 and all my other email accounts (even from Go Daddy) are working fine.
All audio on my Bold 9650 has suddenly stopped functioning - no ring tones, alerts, speakerphone, music or voice recordings can be heard. The phone is not muted and the volume is turned up. Hard reset and soft reset have not fixed it. Software was upgraded to 5.0.0.1006 after problem started and did not resolve it. Device self test performed and verified that no audio functions were working. Also, there's an icon that I don't remember seeing before showing below my EDGE indicator. It is a white circle with a cross through it, like the sight symbol when you are focusing a gun or camera. I can't find the icon on any icon list to indicate what it means.
Im super siked the the 9650 has arrived and im ready to get rid of the 8330, but with every smartphone of mine i've always had a black silicone smooth skin and a screen protector so if i buy a tour 9630 skin and screen protector will they fit on the bold 9650 right?
I have a verizon blackberry on tmobile. I can do everything except use the browser. i receive emails, texts, calls, bbm, everything but i try going on the internet and it says that the service isnt part of my current plan. I've already called tmobile several times and they said that everything is good on their end.
