View 1 RepliesI started noticing this problem on my phone (iPhone 5s, iOS 7.1.1) where my screen would kind of go haywire without me touching it. For example, if I'm browsing through Vine, it would automatically scroll all the way up as if I had pressed the info bar on top (the one that lets you scroll all the way up with one touch) and then would keep trying to pull down to refresh all by itself. The problem would temporarily go away when I locked the screen, but it would come back once in a while. At this point, I tried turning it on/off, doing a reset by holding the home and power buttons, and restoring it from a backup.Â
Now, the problem has escalated to where the entire screen is unresponsive to touch at first unlocking. It was a minor nuisance, until the entire screen would stop responding while the phone was unlocked and I had been using it. I tried turning it on/off and the reset with the home/power buttons, but the problem would still come up. At this point, I ended up doing a complete restoration of my phone and deleted everything I had on there. The problem seemed to go away last night, but this morning, after I unplugged it from its charger, the problem was back.Â
My current issue now is that the touch screen is unresponsive when I first try to unlock it, but I lock and re-unlock it and the screen works fine. But I have to do this EVERY SINGLE TIME I want to use my phone.

I had an authorized seller replace the broken screen on my iPhone 4S, but now the bottom dock of icons is unresponsive. Weird thing is that I can't access the icons on the dock, nor open the lantern / calculator / clock / camera on the icons when I pull up the quick menu, but aside from that, that part of the screen works ... I can use the keyboard completely, you name it, everything except the icons on the dock and the bottom ones on the pull up menu ! Â
The guy who fixed my screen said it must be a software glitch, but I've restarted and restored the phone (from backup and as a new one) and the problem is still there !Â
Any chance he messed up something while changing the screen ?Â
Also, iPhone isn't (and has never been) jailbroken or anything of the sorts
I posted this in the wrong forum earlier like an idiot. If you see it please disregard. I didn't know how to get it deleted, I'm still a newbie as if you couldn't tell. My Sprint Touch Pro's touchscreen slowly died today. And I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I should do. I bought it on eBay and apparently the warranty is non-transferable so that's void. I have it on Boost so I'm guessing going to Sprint is out of the question also.

View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently my Ray's touchscreen has stopped working completely; the screen its self works, as do the volume and power buttons, but it won't register any touch - I can't even unlock the slider. Tried all of the usual things, recharging, leaving the battery out etc. In the end I used the repair tool which installed ICS, and that actually worked for about two days, but the same problem just came back.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using xperia active for 6 months now and it is a very nice phone, but one day the touch screen has become unresponsive.Everytime when I want to click an icon on the screen or type on the on-screen keyboard I would have to tap many times and it is very frustrating.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI  dropped my Z3 on it's backed and the top half it cracked. The screen was undamaged but  the top half is now unresponsive when touched. Everything else on the phone works fine but the top half of the screen just doesn't respond when i touch it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought my Z5 less than a month ago, it rarely fell. Today it slipped out of my pocket on a medium hard ground and the screen got cracked from the bottom left and the screen would not respond. I restarted it using the power+up volume button but it still is unresponsive.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had my Z2 for a while now. I'm very happy with my phone, but there are a few problems that i need fixed or deliver the phone back, because i cant use it like this.
Â
When i use the touch screen either calling a number, writing a text or anything, it aint always so responsive.
If i write a little word like: "Hi, my name is dave" then what i see written is: "H, Myname is dve"
Â
This is VERY hard for me to tolerate right now. I have always had samsung phones and i have never had any issues with the touch, but i wanted to test a Sony phone and i bought this one. My first impression was very good, but now its not that great.
My z3 screen recently cracked from top right corner to bottom left and the top two thirds of the screen is unresponsive to touch. So once I turned it on I cannot enter my PIN.
Can this issue be fixed with a simple screen replacement or is it a deeper issue?
While i was at school my Nexus 5 is still working properly. Our class will be staring soon so I turned on my Nexus 5's screen to put it to silent mode and close some apps, but white horizontal lines suddenly keeps appearing and disappearing and will appear again (like it was Fluctuating) then i turned the screen off and turned it on again and the white lines stopped but when i tried to unlock it, the touch screen won't work. I did not drop it nor did it got wet. What caused it to do that? (NOTE: I did a hard reset, Factory Data reset doesn't work, and other buttons is still working properly)
View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't know why, but my touchscreen no longer works. Buttons all work and the general function of the phone seems to be intact. I've been looking for a factory reset option using fastboot and I haven't found anything yet. Also tried to the "factory option in fastboot" in hopes it would completely reset my phone. I don't know if this is a software or hardware issue yet, but it's extremely aggravating.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have this weird thing going on with my Atrix. I've had it for about six months and it was fine until now. What happens is that the touchscreen stops responding after it is turned off (pressing the power button) and back on. I can't unlock the phone, but the volume buttons are still responsive and I can still turn off the screen. If i reboot it (by removing the battery), it boots up just fine, with the screen working perfectly. It'll sometimes stop working when ending a call. The weird thing is that it doesn't happen everytime I turn off the screen, and when it happens, if I turn it off and back on it sometimes starts working again. It also seems to happen more frequently when the battery is low.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLately the touch screen of my storm has been doing something pretty weird. For the past few weeks, when I try to select something on one side of the screen,it won't respond. Like that side of the screen is dead or something. Then there are times when I try to select something that's on the right, the icon on the opposite side of the screen lights up.Same thing hapens when its in landscape view. And sometimes it doesn't even respond at all. It's most problematic when I try to use the keyboard function. Letters opposite of what I want light up. I've been turning the storm around so that the letter I want to sellect is on the responsive side of the screen, and sometimes I have to tap repeatedly just to get the button I want highlighted.Used to be that it would come and go, but more recently it's been coming more often than it is going.I've already tried a battery pull, but I don't think it worked. And it's been a while since I upgraded it, but only because I lost the software and cord to connect it to the computer. What do I need to do?
View 9 Replies View RelatedUpdate to 4.0 ICS two days back as it arrives in India, everthing is seems to me is pretty switching back to apps is far better now from previous version. But the main issue is with games when i started "Angry Birds" is starts off smoothly and all the hardare buttons are working just fine but the touch screen becomes completely unresponsive and even "Temple Run" slows down and touch is just horrible, sometimes it even plays its own moves, haaa..haa, funny.. Same issues a bit of a time for few seconds also goes for "Skater Boy" game too which mostly runs very fine.
View 9 Replies View RelatedNot sure if I have a hardware or software issue. I just updated my 1520 to Windows 10 (build 10586.29).
The touch screen will randomly stop working. I'll be trying to scroll, open an app, etc. Nothing. I have to reboot the entire phone. I also get random ghost touch issues.
None of this was happening on Windows 8.1. However, I have only had the phone for two days. Used 8.1 for one day and have been using 10 today. That is why I am unsure if this is an OS issue or a hardware defect.
So this morning I took my Xperia Play out of its charging dock, to find that the touch screen is now completely unresponsive.I have tried updating and repairing the software through the PC companion, but the screen is still completely unresponsive. The phone is still (technically) working, and can be navigated by using the PS controls, but the touch part of the screen is not working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI dropped my Iphone in the sink for about 2 seconds, then took it out and dried it off. It all worked fine but a few minutes later the screen went black. I put it in rice for about 2 and a half days, and the sound and touch works (I can even unlock it and answer the phone), but I see not a thing on the screen. It's plain black. I still have it in the rice, but is there anything i can do to save it?

My xperia mini pro touchscreen became unresponsive after turning it back on. In order to make it work again, I would need to remove the battery and put it back again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe following has been happening since before the latest update, and continued after. My phone will randomly reboot itself (there doesn't seem to be any correlation with what I'm doing) and then hang at the rotating red logo.If I push the power button the display will turn off, but after that no buttons have any effects. If I plug the phone in the display comes back on to the unlock screen, but the touch screen is also unresponsive. The phone is definitely still running though, as my bluetooth headset will reconnect and time-based notifications will still happen (I have the phone set to beep every half hour). If I leave the phone sitting for a significant length of time I will notice it getting warm, and it will eventually reboot again and behave normally.Battery pull does nothing.Wiping the cache partition does nothing.I've done a factory reset before, and this makes the problem go away for a while, but it comes back.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue where the touch screen seems to be unresponsive for a short time after unlock. For instance, if I unlock the phone via fingerprint, pattern, or slide the first touch doesn't respond and I have to tap whatever app or item I am trying to use. I'm using Cataclysm ROM with the most recent ElementalX kernel. Maybe it's a ROM/Kernel thing and I should try stock but just wanted to ask here.
View 10 Replies View RelatedThe last time the display functioned I was starting a play-list for my shower. I adjusted the volume once or twice without lighting the screen, and after drying off stopped the music by removing the speaker jack again without lighting the screen. The device then went into my shirt pocket and I ate dinner then watched a movie but when I tried to do a little surfing before bed the screen wouldn't light up. I had seen it light up the buttons but take a few seconds for the display when the CPU was busy so I waited, nothing happened. I pulled the battery and tried again, nothing on the screen. But then I discovered that the touch sensor was still functioning, I could swipe to unlock and power down in the standard fashion just blind. I have examined the water stickers they are both white with bright red X's.
While writing this question (I am sure many of you already know this fact) I discovered that the display of my device is in fact three distinct functional parts. The capacitive touch screen still in operation on my device, the LCD image generator also still in operation, and the Led illumination source which for lack of a more accurate description is burned out.So my question is how could this occur, is it software or hardware, and what are my recourses?
A couple of times now I've had this problem where I go to use my phone or read a new text that has come through and when I go to enter my 4 digit pin the screen is not responding & I have this blue horizontal line that moves down from the top of the screen continuously like its doing some sort of scan over the phone. I have no way to stop this or to have the ability to enter my 4 digit pin for accessing my phone.
Eventually I give up trying to enter my pin & put my phone down for hours. When I come back to try again twice now I've been able to use my phone like normal and the issue seems to have gone away but other times this still remains for a longer time then randomly starts to work as normal. I've forced my phone to turn off & or reboot but this still isn't fixing the problem. I haven't been able to access my phone for over 10 hours and I have miss calls & messages that people have sent me but unable to get past my 4 digit pin to read them.
I have the 5800 XpressMusic and a few days ago the touch screen stopped working properly. When the phone has been off for an hour or two everything works fine for the first couple of minutes, then it stops recognizing presses/unpresses and holds a lot. For this reason it sounds to me like a software fault but the guy in the local phone shop reckons the screen is pressed in and needs to be physically repaired.Any ideas?

View 2 Replies View Relatedi cant use the touch screen keypad while messaging infact typing otherwise it works great but not while typing!
View 11 Replies View RelatedThe touch functionality still works, however, the screen does not light up or becomes extremely distorted and fuzzy most of the time. I called Rogers support and they seemed to believe it could be a software problem - but are you serious? I think they were just blowing me off.Okay - basically about a month ago, my screen would become pixelated and distorted when i would slide my touch screen up to reveal the keyboard. This problem still exists today. Ic ould sometimes get rid of it by locking and unlocking the screen, but after a day or two that never worked, so I began to use the phone only by using the touch screen. However, for about a week now the screen does not light up at all anymore. I would press the lock button and the bottom four buttons would light up - I would press the lock button again and they would turn off, but no screen illumination. Maybe - MAYBE - once a day I can manage to illuminate the screen and use it. But for the most part, the screen stays unlit.
