Apr 8, 2011E7 would need a mechanical call disconnection button (could be programmed e.g. for on/off-button??), as the touch screen every now and then gets stuck and you're not able for example to end the call. Especially when you don't want to leave a message to a voice mail and the phone just keeps on going there's gonna be several f-words in the voice mail.

Jun 28, 2011just got a E7 last week. Great phone for my needs but I find the touch screen a little too sensitive that a slight brush would activate e.g the call dial pad or the options menu in the home screen. This usually happens when I try one handed operations as I try to stretch my thumb across the screen.
Does anyone know where & how to reduce the sensitivity of the touch screen so that it will only register a touch when I deliberately touch it?

Last working was when I put my phone on charger and I deactivate power saving mode, and when I take off from charging, my touch stop working. When phone is closed(keyboard) nothing work only power buton. When I open keyboard everything working , but no touchscreen.I hope is software problem, and I reinstal, reset , and try everything I know but still same. I also find in discusion something like "enter #7370# ," but here is request not completed. Phone have waranty, but in my country service say to leave phone and they will call me for 30 days . When thay say 30days, thay mean 60

I can make calls, access the menu, etc., using the keypad. Sep 17, 2012A strange thing happened. I had been coping with Nokia somehow without shifting to another phone for 5 years now. Today i updated to belle refersh, now my tocuh screen doesnt register my touch in certain areas, i cant pull down the notification bar, cant scroll vertially (horizontal scroll works with jerks), the icon i click on doesnt get selected, but one above or on the side of it gets selected...pretty strange and annoying...what i did....removed memory card, restarted, checked...same thing...clean formatted the phone (without memory card...still doesnt work).

Jul 17, 2010Had E71 for about 2 years now. Was fine. Then got a free E72 from the 3 network after fighting out an upgrade deal.Its arrived, got them to unlock it as part of the deal. Started to use. Its now become clear its close to unusable because of this issue.
You'll typing quickly and even happens if I type slowly, and it won't register the key press sometimes, like a little delay. So you have to backup to correct the missing letter. Its REALLY ANNOYING and making the phone unusable.Has Nokia acknowledged this problem? I'm going to be returning it to 3 and see if I can get them to swap it for a HTC Desire. I'm done with Nokia.

In the Ukrainian language, there where on the keyboard is characters "." and "," Is the Cyrillic letters and they do not typed. In the Russian language (which is very similar to a Ukrainian) there are also the same letters and they typed.

One of the most annoying features i found so far is that phone's keypad light doesn't turn on when you want to type the passcode for unlocking the phone. Even if you manage to unlock & want to type an SMS or a browser URL, still the keypad light is OFF. This makes it really annoying & next to impossible to type proper keys in darkness.When you leave the phone without touching any keys till its screen goes little dimmer, then when you press any navigation keys, then the keypad light actually turns on!

Nov 9, 2011The last time the display functioned I was starting a play-list for my shower. I adjusted the volume once or twice without lighting the screen, and after drying off stopped the music by removing the speaker jack again without lighting the screen. The device then went into my shirt pocket and I ate dinner then watched a movie but when I tried to do a little surfing before bed the screen wouldn't light up. I had seen it light up the buttons but take a few seconds for the display when the CPU was busy so I waited, nothing happened. I pulled the battery and tried again, nothing on the screen. But then I discovered that the touch sensor was still functioning, I could swipe to unlock and power down in the standard fashion just blind. I have examined the water stickers they are both white with bright red X's.
While writing this question (I am sure many of you already know this fact) I discovered that the display of my device is in fact three distinct functional parts. The capacitive touch screen still in operation on my device, the LCD image generator also still in operation, and the Led illumination source which for lack of a more accurate description is burned out.So my question is how could this occur, is it software or hardware, and what are my recourses?

Nov 27, 2011After a recent update, my music library will no longer sync, nor does Ovi suite see any files on my E7 (which are really there). After attempting to sync, it will come up with the message "failure to sync". Oddly enough, contacts etc all sync without a problem and there is no problem listening to the music on the E7. I can copy music directly from Windows Mediaplayer, but that will cause the album not to show up in the albums on the E7 (though they are accessible through the file manager and then all works again.

Jan 28, 2010I have the 5800 XpressMusic and a few days ago the touch screen stopped working properly.When the phone has been off for an hour or two everything works fine for the first couple of minutes, then it stops recognizing presses/unpresses and holds a lot. For this reason it sounds to me like a software fault but the guy in the local phone shop reckons the screen is pressed in and needs to be physically repaired.Any ideas?

Sep 29, 2011The touch functionality still works, however, the screen does not light up or becomes extremely distorted and fuzzy most of the time. I called Rogers support and they seemed to believe it could be a software problem - but are you serious? I think they were just blowing me off.Okay - basically about a month ago, my screen would become pixelated and distorted when i would slide my touch screen up to reveal the keyboard. This problem still exists today. Ic ould sometimes get rid of it by locking and unlocking the screen, but after a day or two that never worked, so I began to use the phone only by using the touch screen. However, for about a week now the screen does not light up at all anymore. I would press the lock button and the bottom four buttons would light up - I would press the lock button again and they would turn off, but no screen illumination. Maybe - MAYBE - once a day I can manage to illuminate the screen and use it. But for the most part, the screen stays unlit.
