E7 would need a mechanical call disconnection button (could be programmed e.g. for on/off-button??), as the touch screen every now and then gets stuck and you're not able for example to end the call. Especially when you don't want to leave a message to a voice mail and the phone just keeps on going there's gonna be several f-words in the voice mail.

Great phone for my needs but I find the touch screen a little too sensitive that a slight brush would activate e.g the call dial pad or the options menu in the home screen. This usually happens when I try one handed operations as I try to stretch my thumb across the screen.
Does anyone know where & how to reduce the sensitivity of the touch screen so that it will only register a touch when I deliberately touch it?
i cant use the touch screen keypad while messaging infact typing otherwise it works great but not while typing!

However the phone is working. I can make calls, access the menu, etc., using the keypad. Whenever this problem occurs, it lasts for about 20 mins and then automatically the screen goes fine, but this happens once every hour or so and now the problem is also very frequent......

Today i updated to belle refersh, now my tocuh screen doesnt register my touch in certain areas, i cant pull down the notification bar, cant scroll vertially (horizontal scroll works with jerks), the icon i click on doesnt get selected, but one above or on the side of it gets selected...pretty strange and annoying...what i did....removed memory card, restarted, checked...same thing...clean formatted the phone (without memory card...still doesnt work).

Although its operating system kept restarting itself since the first time I bought, I did not care much about that as the phone was running ok after restarting itself. However, it finally gave a disk error yesterday and stuck in its main desktop screen. Then I turned the device off and when I turned it on again, it is stuck in the initial white screen where a Nokia logo was supposed to appear. Nothing happens then; the white screen persists until the battery is empty.

View 3 Replies View RelatedYesterday was my first day trying to use my new E7 as my primary phone. I am having a major problem where the phone is stuck at the white nokia log boot screen and it keeps restarting.
In the days before, I updated from the original 13.x firmware to 14.002 though the ovi suite. After about an hour of usage yesterday, I opened the on phone ovi store application and it said an update was required before I could use it, so I let it update OTA. After the update, I opened the application and tried to get Angry Birds Free. The download started, then I pressed an in app button to do something else in the mean time and the phone froze up during the screen transition. Restarted with 8 second power cycle. Back into the ovi store to continue the download, this time the phone restarted on its own halfway through the download. Back into the ovi store a 3rd time to continue the download, phone froze up. Restarted with 8 second power cycle. Wouldn't get past the boot screen.
Yesterday I was able to get the phone to connect to my computer and I attempted to reinstall 14.002 firmware 2x, which seemed to work but I was still stuck. I was able to call Nokia Customer Care and the support person tried some of the same things I did. Then without a sim card in the device we connected to my computer, tried to reinstall firmware, it complained about no sim card. I put an old non-working sim in the device and the home screen came up all of a sudden. So it appeared to be fixed.
I'm back to the same issue today, only now my computer won't connect to the phone. I've tried 10 times. Once it connected but only as a storage drive, not to Ovi Suite.
is there any way to get the one-touch key to go directly to the sms-inbox instead of the messaging screen?

View 6 Replies View RelatedBrand new E7 with all updates done and running Belle. Phone works great with very little issues. Emails work fine. Calls and everything work fine. But sometimes SMS get stuck in outbox as deferred and does not send them even after the time to resend hits. This happens about 3 to 4 out of 10 messages. If it deferred and then actually sends the message when its suppose to, I wouldn't care so much. I've yet to have a deferred message sent yet I can click on it and press send and it goes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install a software uodate on my E72 using Ovi Suite. I have not updated before. My phone is connected to my PC with a USB. I am using Windows XP. Ovi appears to have identified relevant updates and backed up the data on my phone. Ovi suite states that it is preparing to install. It has been like this for 4 hours. There is a warning not to disconnect the USB or switch off the phone or the phone may stop working. When I try to close Ovi suite it says it cannot be closed because it is busy. There is no option to cancel the install. My only options appear to be to shut down the PC or unplug the cable. Wish I had not started on this process.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy E7 is screen is freezing up after a phone call or just after general use. It keeps happening every day. I must force a power rebooot to get the phone working again. I have called Nokia and have exhusted every option which included reloading Bella. Last resort is Nokia want's me to send my phone to Texas for a tech to investagate the problem. I think there is some kind of software problem with the locking of the phone screen and the locking switch logic on the side of the phone. When the problem happens the sceen will not work to my touch. The sceen freezes without touching.
