Eseries / Communicators :: E7 Stuck At Boot Screen (white Nokia)
Aug 21, 2011Yesterday was my first day trying to use my new E7 as my primary phone. I am having a major problem where the phone is stuck at the white nokia log boot screen and it keeps restarting.
In the days before, I updated from the original 13.x firmware to 14.002 though the ovi suite. After about an hour of usage yesterday, I opened the on phone ovi store application and it said an update was required before I could use it, so I let it update OTA. After the update, I opened the application and tried to get Angry Birds Free. The download started, then I pressed an in app button to do something else in the mean time and the phone froze up during the screen transition. Restarted with 8 second power cycle. Back into the ovi store to continue the download, this time the phone restarted on its own halfway through the download. Back into the ovi store a 3rd time to continue the download, phone froze up. Restarted with 8 second power cycle. Wouldn't get past the boot screen.
Yesterday I was able to get the phone to connect to my computer and I attempted to reinstall 14.002 firmware 2x, which seemed to work but I was still stuck. I was able to call Nokia Customer Care and the support person tried some of the same things I did. Then without a sim card in the device we connected to my computer, tried to reinstall firmware, it complained about no sim card. I put an old non-working sim in the device and the home screen came up all of a sudden. So it appeared to be fixed.
I'm back to the same issue today, only now my computer won't connect to the phone. I've tried 10 times. Once it connected but only as a storage drive, not to Ovi Suite.

Nov 5, 2011I bought an E6-00 just one and a half month ago. Although its operating system kept restarting itself since the first time I bought, I did not care much about that as the phone was running ok after restarting itself. However, it finally gave a disk error yesterday and stuck in its main desktop screen. Then I turned the device off and when I turned it on again, it is stuck in the initial white screen where a Nokia logo was supposed to appear. Nothing happens then; the white screen persists until the battery is empty.

Dec 2, 2011Its been three month since i bought my Nokia E6, I was pretty happy with the phone uptil Yesterday.
I pulled down the screen lock rocker to check for any updates, but there was no display. the backlights were all on though, i tried swithcing off using the power button, but it wont switch off, so i removed the batt, after that the phone simply refused to boot up. when i pressed the power button it giave me the usual vibrartion and thats it. No display/backlight or anything. I tried removing the SIM and battery and then re-inserting just the battery and then turned it on but still same result. When i put it on charge it gives me the usual blip and the charging LED blinks at times..but the phone will not start up.

Jul 19, 2010The E52 is an absolute failure... apart from being nice and easy to use and nice keypad, the rest is utter trash. I have had this phone fail several times, i only use it for sms, thats is, never connected to PC or downoad any **bleep**, patches etc for it, and time and time again, Nokia takes people 'smoney to 'reset' this ohoine and send it back. It costs money, and time, and a lot of frustrations also having to go without a phone in the first place. The start up codes do not work for me. I am told it is a software failure, such unreliable, it just shuts down oen time never tostart again, if it does you get the phone start up failed contact your retailer.

Oct 14, 2012so last night my battery was flat and it turned off. I charged it for a few hours and now it doesn't want to turn on anymore. Except when I hang it on the charger, then it turns on but only on the loading screen.

Then I tried to make a hard reset by pressing the power button for 8 seconds, still no results. Jun 25, 2011Came back home and rebooted it while it was connected to the charger. Now it won't start. It starts to boot, plays the Nokia hand shake video clip then freezes. I've tried rebooting it while the charger is connected, removed the battery, put it back...everything! Seriously. Feb 16, 2011Today my e63 phone died while I was using the internet so I plugged it into my charger, all that happened was the light behind the navigation button lit up and then turned off, usually my phone will just go into the charging screen and I then turn it back on. I tried with multiple chargers and there was no difference.I then tried to turn it on and all that comes up is a white screen. I took out the sim card and memory card but there is no difference apart from the fact that when I turned it on after taking out the memory card the screen was black with white lines then went completely white.

A few days ago it also had problems to start up: I pressed "on" button untill it vibrates (then it normally starts up) but it didn't do anything, after some tries (around 15) it did start up. Then today the phone just shutted down and wasn't able to start up. And I get the message in the title.I have tried hard reset (shift, space, backspace + on) but it doesn't do anything.I have the newest firmware for my country (Belgium) and i think its 92.003 but not entirely sure.

Jul 13, 2011When I try to type in numbers on the Home screen to place a call, the numbers are not displaying in the white block box that pops up. The numbers are inputting but do not display, if I type the correct numbers and press send it will call. However, when it starts ringing I get a "Note: Call Forwarding Active. I do not know if these two problems are related. I don't even know what I did to activate call forwarding. Letters and Numbers will display when pressed in other applications so I do not know what did to screw it up because they displayed before when I typed. This phone is a Straight Talk - E71.
