I just bought a Nokia E7 and I just cannot enter a dot or a comma as whatever the shift or alt (arrow), pressing for a dot will enter a colon and pressing a comma will enter a semi-colon. Any idea before I return it?

View 11 Replies View RelatedHad E71 for about 2 years now. Was fine. Then got a free E72 from the 3 network after fighting out an upgrade deal.Its arrived, got them to unlock it as part of the deal. Started to use. Its now become clear its close to unusable because of this issue.
You'll typing quickly and even happens if I type slowly, and it won't register the key press sometimes, like a little delay. So you have to backup to correct the missing letter. Its REALLY ANNOYING and making the phone unusable.Has Nokia acknowledged this problem? I'm going to be returning it to 3 and see if I can get them to swap it for a HTC Desire. I'm done with Nokia.
recently purchased a E6. Has updated software version to the latest Bella (What now regret!) I have the following problem: After unlocking the screen, i start typing need me contact. In the Ukrainian language, there where on the keyboard is characters "." and "," Is the Cyrillic letters and they do not typed. In the Russian language (which is very similar to a Ukrainian) there are also the same letters and they typed.

One of the most annoying features i found so far is that phone's keypad light doesn't turn on when you want to type the passcode for unlocking the phone. Even if you manage to unlock & want to type an SMS or a browser URL, still the keypad light is OFF. This makes it really annoying & next to impossible to type proper keys in darkness.When you leave the phone without touching any keys till its screen goes little dimmer, then when you press any navigation keys, then the keypad light actually turns on!

I'm in Mexico, not Spain, and we use the US decimal point system, that is using decimal POINTS and not COMMAS. How can I switch the BB to use commas? This wasn't a problem on BB OS 4.6 on the Bold 9000... in fact, this is the first time I see my BB using the goofy comma system.

I have a nokia E71, it's impossible to connect it to a PC. The PC just don't recognize ANYTHING when I plug into the usb port.The computer is good, the cable is good, nokia pc suite is good. Everything is good, unless the phone.I think it's a hardware failure of the phone. Do you have any ideas?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have bought a Nokia E71 from a friend and when trying to download something from the Ovi store it asks for my user name and password, but says my user name and password are wrong and won't connect. I am using the same ones I use to connect to Ovi on my computer and it accepts them OK. Could this be because the previous owner's user name and password have been stored somewhere on the phone and as a security measure it won't let me in with my user name and password?
Does anyone know what I can do to be able to log in to Ovi on my phone so that I can download an application? The one I want at the moment is Sports Tracker so that I can check how many miles I do when going for a walk. I could perhaps find it online and download straight from their website, but I do really need to be able to download things through Ovi if required.
I want to use an SMTP server which is not provided by the operator (network or broadband). The only form of authentication catered for seems to be "POP before SMTP" where you have to authorise sending using the same login as you first receive with.
Settings I see are:
Incoming : there is no field for remote mailbox address - weird?
Outgoing: there IS a field for remote mailbox address - why? The username and password fields provided seem to relate to this remote mailbox address, not to the SMTP server. (Anyway, they already exist in incoming settings)
E.g. I can receive from my remote mailbox fine. That's "me@tiscali.co.uk" I can't authenticate using the "smtp.o2.co.uk" server to send using my address of "me@tiscali.co.uk" as there is nowhere to enter my o2 authentication details. (I can send unauthorised to o2 addresses)
The above example works fine in Profimail email client and with Profimail I can send emails carrying the "me@tiscali.co.uk" address with o2 authentication via the o2 SMTP server by either t-mobile network or by tiscali broadband WLAN to any of various test addresses.
I am a writer: There are about 3000 messages saved in my Nokia 2630. It seems that PC SUit or OVI can not handle or transfer this amount of messages.For example, when attempt to read messages of the phone, OVI writes: Reading failed. Fail to read message from this device.
Does anybody know a solution to this problem, besides copying by hand 3000 messages? Is there another way around?
When I initially set up my Nokia N97, I added several email accounts with no problem. But now when I need to add an account, it is not possible any more.
The Help tells me to go to Messages > Options >Settings > Email > Email accounts and choose Options > New email account. But under Email accounts > Options there is no option New email account any more. Why is that?
My Xperia mini Pro tells me that a new version is available : 4.0.2.A.0.62. It tells me to connect the mobile to my PC (seven) with PC Companion. I did it, the process starts normally, download it's package from the web but on step 3 I got this message from outerspace : "Your IP address is not allowed to update/repair brown phone.
