IPhone 5s :: Does Having A Lot Of Texts And Emails Cause IOS To Slow Down
Sep 10, 2014
I have ams messages from the last 6 years and would like to know if it can cause the phone to lag or slow down. I have about 20000 messages and a few 1000s of emails on my phone.
My 4S has a passcode lock set, as a new requirement by work. I am not receiving text messages, emails or reminders until I have entered the 4 digit passcode, effectively waking the phone. I find this incredibly annoying. I'm not sure if I have an inccorect setting or if it is a phone issue.
Downloading emails from my pop3 account takes a very-and I mean very - long time. I've tried re-entering all the account details and it queries my password so I have even changed that but it's still extremely slow. Plus I can't send emails (I can from the .me account).
Why would my iPhone send messages, text and emails, videos and pictures quickly for months, then, inexplicably, for a period of two weeks, consistently, take 30 seconds or minutes to send any length text, email or photos? And it doesn't go any faster whether I am on my carrier network, or the broadband wifi.
When I send a text from work to my wife from my iphone 4 she receives an email on her iphone 3GS and her ipad 2 from <my phone number>@media messaging.o2.co.uk. The email says 'Here's a picture message you've been sent from <my phone number>. The message has no other content even though it is indicated that there is an attachment.
Is this a problem with my network provider or are there some settings which need changing?
My iPhone 4 volume works perfectly when I receive a call but it is completely mute for texts, emails etc coming in. Also there is no sound when using the keyboard.
My iphone 3GS has no sounds now except the phone ringer. I have toggled the mute switch back and forth and it makes no difference. When I go into settings for sounds I see at the top that it is marked silent. However I cannot find any way to switch that off and reset it back to sounds. The only thing that seems to work now is vibrate and the phone ring.
I just bought a lumia 950XL dual-sim from Microsoft, and it is a great phone. However, I am having a lot of issues with the messaging app right now. It takes a very long time to load the app and the individual conversations. When sending texts it takes 3-10 seconds before sending. I deleted all the texts on my phone, which I had backed up and loaded.
We have a bunch of E72 syncing against Exchange 2003.Even if we set the sync to "sync always" it takes about 10-15 min for an email to appear in the phone. Is that what we can expect?I am used to BlackBerry where the emails appear faster than in Outlook.
This is the third torch I have had in the last 3 months. I've returned the phone because it continues to delete texts and emails every week or so. Never do the emails or texts last more than a couple weeks. I always have my display options set to forever and I amy using less than 20% of the memory. I don't know what else to do, but it's extremely frustrating.
we have a micro soft exchange server without BES and I wanted to know if there is anyway of syncing my phone wireless with mail/contact/calendar/task etc - its seems to be doing this know but very slowly, my handset is displaying read & unread emails but its not what is on my work PC! Does Blackberry offer an application for this? To receive emails on a Blackberry do you need to a BES? I thought that owning a Blackberry was going to revolutionize my emailing experience, might just go back to the iPhone!
I recently switched my line to another family members blackberry bold as my navigator/cursor no longer worked. I have not received calls, nor texts, nor emails for last 30 hours from others and calls go straight to voice mail. I have removed battery and rebooted with no resolution.
I recently replaced my 8900, and I'm not exactly sure what I did wrong. Before I moved all my email accounts over to the new phone, I apparently set up my Gmail account on the phone wrong. At any rate, I keep getting my Gmail messages via SMS message. It's driving me crazy! It shows the sender as "700."
How can I speed up or adjust the settings so that I can receive my emails quickly. If someone sends me an email it can take up to 15 minutes to receive the email. On my old Rant I received the emails instantly. Is there a 3rd party email that is available. Please help not really wanting to go back to my Rant phone but need phone that will deliver my work emails quick. Work emails are not on any kind of exchange server either. Just simple MS Outlook through our local cable company.
I've been sending quite a few texts and emails with pictures attached for the last few weeks and then only recently realized that they were not being received. Text or emails by themselves with links or just words are fine. Also I tried to set an appointment with an email invitation to others and that also isn't working ever after trying it multiple times.
I wiped my phone because i had to reinstall the bolt browser ,don't ask it was just a recomendation someone gave me. But i'v enoticed my emails are real slow to get through and the smae thing with the speed in which my text are sent out> What do you guys figure it could be?
When using the phone on a strong 4G signal and fully charged battery, it takes an excessive amount of time to connect to an internet page and fully open (Dolphin Browser) . Also have issues on email downloads and opening RSS feeds.  This exceptional phone should blow away my Galaxy S3 but the Z3 is slower than any other smartphone I've used.
I started the contract in November 2011 with a Torch 9860.I had numerous problems with the phone freezing and randomly losing data such as texts, call logs and emails. In 9 months I've had 5 phones and 1 sim card change, 2 weeks ago BT changed the handset to a Torch 9810. The phone has worked fine till Friday when it started doing funny things like randomly receiving texts which were from old conversations. On saturday afternoon it lost all data by way of texts, call logs and emails that were over 24 hours old and in the last hour has lost everything over 6 hours old.I have all calls, texts and emails going into the messages list and have that set to save everything for ever so I can chose when to delete information. As I;m a consultant I need my call logs, texts and emails to work out my billing so this really is a pain.
Notifications - is there any way to differentiate emails, texts and voice mails? If yes, is there any way to associate different sounds to different email accounts?
I cant sync, respond to texts, receive emails, just about anything but make phone calls. Is this due to the blackberry problem I've been hearing about?
when my phone is asleep and I get incoming notifications whether they be texts, emails, notifications, etc my screen does not turn on briefly to alert me, only the notification light blinks. Is this normal or is there a setting on my phone that is not enabled correctly? I kinda don't like this, I'm use to my phone briefly turning it's screen on when incoming alerts hit my device (coming from an iPhone.)
I was sent an email with a large attachment with it and now I'm unable to access my emails nor send texts?Whenever I try, I'm presented with this error message: -'Uncaught exception: java.long.array Indexoutofboundsexception' and an 'OK' button. When I click this, (in the vain hope all will be OK from there on in, it logs out of the app and I'm back to square one! Therefore rendering the phone useless! When I contacted Blackberry support, it states that it has no knowledge of 'Uncaught exception: java.long.array Indexoutofboundsexception' ?
My iPhone won't let me send texts to someone who used to have an iPhone but doesn't anymore. I can receive texts from them but can't send them texts. Says its an invalid number.
I have got myself a blackberry and have been told by t-mobile UK that I am on a BIS account plan. I have set up my gmail email and emails come through nearly instantly. With my work emails I am not getting them instantly. Work does have a BES server and can give me a password to access their server but T-Mobile are using my webmail URL to connect me to the emails.
1) is this correct
2) Can we get rid of the time lag/delay in receiving emails from my work email address so it is more instant?
