Over the past week my iPhone 4s screen shows a stripey (similar to a barcode) screen when switched on. It seems to correct itself but often freezes for a several minutes. I have only had it five months, not dropped it or got it wet.

When I'm using my phone it suddenly freezes and it has to be restarted for it to be used again. This happens every 5-10 mins. It has irritating to have to restart it every 5-10 mins and it going off in between important work. Is there any permanent fix?

I have a problem with my touch screen. It works for 1 or 2 minutes and then it stops working for 2 or 3 minutes, this is a loop ! if I don't use for a couple of hours it will work more, about 15 minutes and then stops working !!! whats wrong with may iphone, which part is damaged ?:(( when touch screen stops working, all keys work correctly, home key & others )

My iPhone freezes randomly every few minutes, especially when I try to do something, sometimes by itself as well, don't know why, it's been like that since last night, I never dropped it or anything of the sort so it really can't be a consequence of anything I did to it... I got my Curve 9330 in Oct 2010, it started freezing about 4 months ago, once every few weeks, over time it has gotten worse, so now it freezes every few minutes. Some freezes are "screen shots" where the time is off by a few minutes like its been frozen about 7 or 8 min and the cursor won't move, and some are freezes with the timer like its waiting on something. It takes me about 30 min to do something (text, email, facebook, anything) that should be a quick 2-3 min check. I have taken the battery out and that works for about an hour, then it goes back to freezing. I have done shift+alt+del to reset and that works for about an hour. I updated my OS, it stopped for about 3 or 4 days then started back up. I have checked to Application free space, there's 158.6MB. I do use my phone a lot, mostly quick check of things throughout the day.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got the update on Saturday and it has utterly ruined my phone. Opening an app causes it to crash. It generally freezes every few minutes. Phone calls work so long as the rest of the phone doesn't freeze while they are happening. The battery drains in a few hours while the phone isn't succeeding to do anything. How can I revert to the last version? I cannot afford to have an unoperational phone until the OS gets fixed.

I have an iPhone 4s IOS 5.0.1 /32gb with 17.3 available-per settings. Its neen jailbroken. For the past few days I have been having a problem with the phone crashing. I go into an app and within 2 minutes it kicks me back to the home screen. I have tried clearing Safari history, deleting photos, and apps. I have also booted, synced, and still have the same thing happens.

I am using iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1.1 on it. I encountered two problems after updating to iOS 8.0.Â
1. My screen freezes at Phone App which causes home button to stop working, luckily i can make calls on the phone app. Lock screen works but swipe screen and password gets disabled which directly opens phone app if I lock and unlock phone with lock button. Phone works after I switch it off and restart. I tried restoring phone couple of times but in vain. Same problem persists.Â
2. When I make or attend calls with my EarPods on and press lock button, phone automatically restarts.

my screen froze on my 1020. None of the "screen" buttons would work but the physical side buttons would. I rebooted a couple of times (depressing the power and volume down). It worked once but then froze up again. Taking out the sim and putting it back in seems to reboot the phone, which works, sometimes, but freezes up again as soon as the screen lock is activated.

The main problem is when I am in the Text Messaging screen it completely freezes before I can open a conversation. Also, if I want to start a new text conversation the To: field won't let me copy from my contacts or even type in a number. the phone also freezes when I am trying to look up a number in the contacts to make a call and while I am on a call I can't hit end sometimes. There is also an over-all sluggishness to the phone but I think that is because of the low volume CPU. I am upgraded to 2.1. I have tried to reboot. And reset the phone completely. I thought maybe it was because I had a notification but I checked all of my apps and none of them have any Notifications. I have restarted the device twice and it hasn't changed anything. However, not knowing when did the problem start, the screen occasionally turns on and off automatically as if I press the power button. The screen turns on and off for exactly 5 times every time and this repeats for like every 10mins. The problem will solve if I restart my phone but the problem comes again whenever it likes. Could this related to any apps (task killer, etc...) I have installed? Or some bugs or something in the system? This could seriously drain my battery flat if the problem left not noticed.

Unfortunately, the screen keeps timing out after a minute. I found under settings->lock screen that there's a setting for this. It looks like 5 minutes is as long as I can set this to. However the phone is working. I can make calls, access the menu, etc., using the keypad. Whenever this problem occurs, it lasts for about 20 mins and then automatically the screen goes fine, but this happens once every hour or so and now the problem is also very frequent......

The screen shuts off after 2 minutes as it should but the music keeps playing for exactly 2 more minutes then stops. When the screen is set to never time out, there is no problem, (except unnecessarily buring out the screen and the battery, of course.) The auto-end list in the stock task manager has Music, Gellery, Files and Purchased Media set to NOT shut off. I have read that there are other apps that should be on this list, like News and Weather
