View 6 RepliesI just got my Icon from the store this morning, and am back at work now! The biggest issue I have now is I put it on my charging stand, and it works great. Unfortunately, the screen keeps timing out after a minute. I found under settings->lock screen that there's a setting for this. It looks like 5 minutes is as long as I can set this to. I was really hoping to have it stay on all the time while on the stand while I'm here at work. Especially with no glance or notification light,
View 24 Replies View RelatedI rarely use my phone to wake me up in the morning.
Last night, the power in my neighborhood went out, so I sent my S6's built-in alarm clock to 7:00AM.
When it went off at 7:00AM, I didn't touch the phone and the alarm stopped about 50 seconds later.
Seems very short to me. I tried it several more times and each time the alarm went off in under 1 minute.
Isn't that barely enough time to wake up a deep sleeper?
My backlight timeout is set for 30 seconds, however for the last few days the backlight stays on, draining my battery.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a HTC one (4 days ago) and already exchanged the phone once do to a defect in the wifi & now I'm about to change the phone again due to the same issue.
The phone will connect to the internet via wifi, but only work for 5 minutes, then nothing. The phone shows that a wifi signal is still available & that it is connected, but if you try to surf the net or refesh emails/facebook/weather, nothing. A message then appears on the phone stating connection timeout and you have to turn wifi off, then on again, for another 5 mins connection.
So far I've tried..................
1.Different routers, at home/mobile broadband/work/friends - same issue.
2. Contacting HTC and using 'safe mode' whilst they talked to me - same issue.
3. Factory reset - same issue.
4. New phone, changed at a recognised shop - same issue.
Luckily enough I'm within my 7 day phone exchange with my phone provider, so the things going back & exchanging for a different brand...............
On a different note, my wife also got a new phone at the same time, HTC One Mini & this is working ideal.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and when ever I make a call my screen doesn't automatically timeout when I put it up next to my face. It used to do it before and now it doesn't work. I looked at the settings in the phone and there is nothing...
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter over 2 monhts heavy usavge, I'm quite happy with my E72 so far, except for some memory leak issues.I did get a bit annoyed by the fact that the auto-lock feature cannot be set for more than 20 minutes. One of the resons I got the E72 was the strong RAM+Card encryption but I expected it to be a bit more flexible. It is true that having a forced lock timeout helps protect your device (you'd forget to lock it sometimes) but there are certain occasions where I find this extremely annoying. For instance:
-When I am at home I find no need to have it locked all the time.
-When I am at work and the phone is always next to me, I find annoying that it auto-locks every 20 minutes when I'm using it as an audio player - makes you have to unlock when you want to interact
-In certain applications, it is annoying that it autolocks and you can't interact. One example is Sygic Mobile GPS software that crashes when it locks. With other software it would be annoying too as you'd be locked and unable to interact with the phone in any trip taking longer than 20 minutes. So I have two suggestions
-Make the maximum lock delay a bit longer - for instance 60 minutes.
and/or
Give us an option similar to what you get in timed Profiles, for instance, "Stay unlocked until hh:mm" - This would be handy when you're home and well... no one is going to steal your phone/access it/lose it.
Samsung Galaxy S6 im trying to change the settings in the phone and i need the idle time a little longer. so i went to the settings > Display > Screen timeout i can change the screen timeout from 15 seconds to 30 seconds just fine but if i try to select the 1 mins, 3, mins, 5 mins, and 10 mins a dialog box will appear
Screen timeout
Screen will be turned off when screen is locked. Secured lock is currently set to 30 seconds. I need the phone idle time longer.
Settings > Display and wallpaper > Screen timeout: doesn't seem to have any affect on lock screen.Settings > Lock screen and security: can't find any settings relating to timeout."Smart Stay":

View 6 Replies View RelatedUpgraded from S3 to S5. I am very happy with S5 overall and have everything customized as I want except one issue. I cannot figure out how to get the lock screen to stop from turning off after 1 or 1..5 seconds. I hardly have time to use the fingerprint scanner because the screen turns off so quickly. I have tried turning off all power settings and have changed the timeouts everywhere else to 6 seconds to 1 minute but I cannot figure out how to extend the lockscreen timeout.
View 24 Replies View RelatedCan we get the ability to set the timer in seconds as well as minutes and hours? I do super-sets at the gym with 15 sec rest intervals and it would be awesome if I could use the timer to count from 15 secs down. Currently it appears the shortest time I can set the device to is 1 min.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust today, my phone started waking itself up every few seconds after I had pressed the lock button and this is severely draining my battery. It has been doing it all day. I restarted my phone and it keeps happening. I have not manually updated anything recently. What can I do to make it stop!?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy co-worker asked me to fix her Galaxy S5 because I have the same phone, but I can't figure it out.
The display dims after 12 seconds and shuts off 3 seconds later.
I've turned off power saving features and even changed the time out to 10 minutes and no luck.
I tried turning on smart stay, but that got me to about 30 seconds and no farther.
My iphone was acting up and going different colors so i thought my LCD screen was going so i replaced it and now my phone won't turn on. I hit the back of the phone and the screen came up but then after it loaded i hit the power button to put it to sleep it shut off and now i can't turn it on.

one week ago i installed OTA 5.1.1' but it's not the new with the new icons, and i am having some issues with it, the phone lags in the settings app for the first couple of seconds, when someone call me and i slide the green circle to the right the in-call screen appears but the phone freeze for two seconds and then return to the screen you see when someone calling you again....sometimes i have to slide it 3 times to answer the call, i didn't have these issues in 5.1.1, now the question is for those who have the newest 5.1.1, do you have these issues??
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy S5's screen turns on every 15 seconds or so while the phone is charging. Its not that big a deal, but I can't imagine it causes the phone to charge faster when it is turning on the screen all the time.
What's odd is that it stops doing it when my phone gets to 90%-charged. From 90% to 100%, it doesn't do it, but any percentage lower than 90%, it turns on about every 15-20 seconds and stays on for like 2 seconds, turns itself off, then turns on again 15 seconds later.I have browsed through the Settings pages, but can't find anything that looks like a way to stop this.
When I'm using my phone it suddenly freezes and it has to be restarted for it to be used again. This happens every 5-10 mins. It has irritating to have to restart it every 5-10 mins and it going off in between important work. Is there any permanent fix?

View 1 Replies View Relatedi was wondering if this is normal, i had my phone for like 3 weeks now since thanksgiving, after 10 minutes of use the top part of the screen where you listen to gets very warm and the back part where the camera does too, i was wondering how could i fix this and is my phone defected? i haven't tried any longer because i don't want my phone to fry up
View 9 Replies View RelatedAbout 3-4 weeks ago...my screen starting acting strange. When I would hover a button (not clicking it...but to make it blue)...other buttons would become blue as well. Or the button I was hovering wouldn't turn blue and another would. When I would actually click the button...say for messages...the browser would start instead. Also...sometimes I would have the browser or gmail app open and after I clicked the BB button to bring up the menu...it would be completely frozen. It's like this periodically...but always occurs after a call...and the phone won't work for a good 1-2 minutes. This became worse and worse. So I finally did a complete reinstall of BB 5.0.0.328. Things were better for a week or so...and then it went downhill again. I haven't dropped my phone or added any new applications in months.
I have Verizon warranty...but if I go in there I have a feeling they are going to tell me that its a software issue and not hardware. I really don't know what it is...I just want the phone to work again.
The camera app on my Z3 times out, and the camera app closes and returns me to the main screen, after 30 seconds. Sometimes that isn't long enough -- I'm waiting for a specific thing to happen that I want to photograph, like the start of a sporting event, and reopening the camera app is a pain.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI want to set up my 5800 to work in the car as a music/navigation/handsfree device. I created a Car profile with ring volumes and other stuff set up just the way I want it. However, I cannot make the screen not to timeout and turn off. Basically, the automatic screen lock is deactivated and shouldn't get into way. When I plug the aux cable into the phone I select the Music Stand accessory which is the only one that has a Screen control setting. It is set to On, from the default Automatic. However, the screen goes black anyway, but the buttons stay lit.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy new S5 keeps getting its display time out value reset to a value of "()", there is no numeric value between the parenthesis. I switch it back to 15 or 30 and seemingly randomly it gets changed. It happened just now after plugging it in to a charger.
Is there some way to see what changes it? Its getting super annoying, happens 2-3 times a day. I run very few apps... and most of those I ran on my old thunderbolt with no issues. Several I also run on my wifes new S5 but she has no problem with hers.
Phone is doing great, except the screen time out does not work. It did when I first had it but not any more, so the problem is the screen stays on until I push the power button to put it into sleep mode.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi want to set the screen timeout like the way i had it on the original droid. while plugged in, the screen stays on, while unplugged, it only stays on for however long i have it set to. yes, i know how to set it, but i cant seem to find the option for plugged in and unplugged.also, another question. is there an app or widget i can download for free that is alot like the clock/alarm on the original droid, where is shows the weather and auto dims. the clock on the d4 is garbage.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had the G4 since it was launched and until now been very pleased. A couple of days ago it started to turn the screen on by itself every time it timed out or I pressed the lock button... Unless it's plugged into a charger. I've tried pulling the battery and uninstalling any recent apps I'd installed but to no avail. Annoyingly, by the time I got myself to carphone warehouse to get it sorted I was just outside my 28 days.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I bought my Icon, I noticed how there is no 'Never' option for when your screen times out. That option was on my 920 and it's a nice feature to have. Does 8.1 have the 'Never' time out option, or is it just the way it is on Icons, regardless of software version?
