I am temporary using my nokia x3 whilest nokia 500 is being repaired. I noticed today that the nokiasuite is asking me to update my nokia x3 slide. I had the phone over a year now and it is out of warranty. I am afraid to update the phone even if I back it up incase it buggers up and is rendered useless. When i turned on the phone, the phone screen didnt give any signs of working, but the rest of the phone was fine, the lights turned on and stuff. I could work with the phone without looking on the screen. But in the next day i went to nokia care point and they looked to the phone, and they told me that was the ribbon flex . I bought a ribbon flex to my nokia and replaced it yesterday, but the phone is in the same situation, the screen does not work and the rest of the phone is fine. I ask if someone can help me with this.

I wanted to update my software so I plugged it into my PC, everything was going fine, the update started and then my PC decided to not recognise the USB anymore and my phone got disconnected First it went blank, so I switched it off. Took out the battery, tried to put it back on but the screen was black and it was constantly vibrating like mad!!I read quite a lot of posts about problems similar to mine, but there is a slight issue here.. My red.green buttons arent working at all. I suspect people from the service that were fixing my phone before forgot to "plug" the buttons because before everything was fine but I was too lazy to go back and managed to live withough these buttons so I cant try red/green and camera button to restart,What to do? Nokia care point? Does my warranty cover things like that?

Before I installed the update, I did a back up of my phone contents. Now, after the update I can't restore the backup because the phone keeps restarting. When my secretary took it to the Care Centre to get it fixed (her Chinese is better than mine) they charged RMB200 (about 20 pounds) to repair it. Is this normal? They said that even though the lock was probably faulty I could not prove it.When I called Nokia Care all they could say was 'this is our policy in China'. I like the phone but cannot stand the Nokia customer service these days.
