Up until 3 weeks ago my Sk17i worked perfectly and didn't miss a beat. Since then it randomly switches itself off and regaularly reboots when I slide the keyboard out. It hasn't been damaged and I haven't rooted it or done anything out of the ordinary with it. It's only 6 months old.

My Xperia Mini Pro has a fault with the keyboard - when I slide it out it activates, ie the background light comes on but then it goes out. Sometimes it stays on a for a few seconds whilst fully open but then goes off. Nothing physical has happened to the phone and it doesn't seem to be a loose connection or anything. I've tried updating the software but that didn't help.

Did a factory reset which didnt solve the problem. Decided to upgrade to android 2.1 and now none of the keys on the slide out keyboard work. Tried to reinstall android 2.1 and still doesnt work. Also tried the repair bit on pc companion.

I have repaired 2.1 once and same happens. Is there anyone else having this problem? Someone know why the phone suddenly reboots after this upgrade? I have sendt mail to support from the phone and haven't got a answer from SE yet.

And i have to take out the battery and insert again for it to function properly. I am in Pakistan so i cant take it to any Sony franchise.. I got it checked here locally and found out that the slider strip is damaged. Can u tell if its really the strip and if so can u parcel me the strip if i pay for it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I am not using and not sliding out my keyboard sometimes it gets automatically to the horizontal or when I slide out my keyboard, the screen gets not horizontal. At worst case it lacks between horizontal and vertical mode.
But when I am locking the phone with not slided out keyboard, sometimes it automatically unlocks the screen because the phone thinks that I slided out my keyboard, and normally when you slide out your keyboard at locked mode and don't have any code or password it unlocks the screen.
I had bad connection on my micro USB and sent the phone for repair. SE seems to have exchanged the connector and has also updated the software. Seems to to newer than whats available online. (that problem seems to be solved)As usual I did manage to get double sets of contacts both in my phone and in Outlook. I did then remove all duplicates and forced my oulook contacts to the phone. Now it is stuck in syncronization and first complained about too many contacts removed and now seem to complain about too many calendar items removed. It keeps doing that and reboots every 10-15 minutes.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got back my Xperia Z3 from the service center that replaced my screen. After this my phone have started to reebot and turn itself off. I have used the Sony PC Companion to repair the phone twice (reset and reinstall all the software) but still have the same problem.
I have read o lot of posts here and have no SD-card installed and also removed my SIM-card. I have tried to use the phone in safe mode and without any WiFi. Nothing worked.
I suspect that my phone reboots or turn itself of when the phone gets hot... but it could also be for some other reasons.
My phone seems to have a mind of its own recently. It is sometimes hangs. It also sometime reboots itself even when not touching it.
What can I do to fix this problem?
I bought my Z3 about 4 months ago.
However, suddenly the screen began to work bad. Mostly when I use the keyboard for write some message. So, when I', writing the cellphone reboots!!!!
In addition, the submenu in the top of the screen doen not work since the problem began.
In some cases, I see my cellphone aside to see whats happen, then, suddenly the cellphone do thing like if some "ghost" was touching the screen!, it's crazy.
Currently, the Z3 is reaching rock bottom because when I'm trying to unlock the Z3 the touch screen works bad and it's difficult to get in!!!!!
Because my phone was quite spoiled during the time, i decided to do a factory reset. I connected my Z3 (5.1.1. / / 23.4.A.0.546) to the PC (Win10) and resetted the device by using PC Companion.
The reset took some time, and, because i wanted to restart all over again, i decided to manually restore the app-collection (so i turned off the auto-restore option in my google-account).
I've been busy with this during the day, and last night I turned my phone off and connected it to the powercharger.

I have NOT dropped the phone or anything like that, I go out of my way to keep it safe and this problem emerged on Thursday when I recieved a message asking if I wanted to auto update.
I said yes, it apparently had installed the update but then hours later this problem starts so I look online the next day and thought i'd try and manually update the firmware, which told me I did not have the latest firmware..
