In my brand new xperia x10 mini pro the slide out keyboard keys are mixed up - instead of "," I get "?", instead of "." I get "?" etc. I run software update, software repair - nothing changed. I get only 2 types of Chineese as Input method.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Xperia Mini Pro has a fault with the keyboard - when I slide it out it activates, ie the background light comes on but then it goes out. Sometimes it stays on a for a few seconds whilst fully open but then goes off. Nothing physical has happened to the phone and it doesn't seem to be a loose connection or anything. I've tried updating the software but that didn't help.

Did a factory reset which didnt solve the problem. Decided to upgrade to android 2.1 and now none of the keys on the slide out keyboard work. Tried to reinstall android 2.1 and still doesnt work. Also tried the repair bit on pc companion.

Last week, the keys on the slide-out keyboard started double triggering - not always and not all of them, but it started with the "o" & "p" & seemed to spread. Turning off & removing battery has made no difference. It definitely is not the way I press as I had zero double triggers until this moment. Is there a way to reset the repeat rate?

I tried to find a highlight setting I would have disactivated by mistake but there is no highlight set up. At this point, i'm not sure if it's a software or hardware problem, or if the phone just doesn't have highlight function.

Though sony decided to discriminate the Indian users by not giving the noise cancellation head or the LTE model ....considering its 50K phone here ... which is not cheap
Aside from what mentioned above there are 2 more things that’s bother me...
1. There are some bloatware on the phone provided by sony but there are no options to uninstall them.
2. While on call nothing else works the soft keys gets disabled, you can’t type a msg the keyboard doesn’t come up. This was how it was in my Z as well. In the forum some people mentioned that it got resolved in the 4.3 update, however i don’t think it is yet.
Up until 3 weeks ago my Sk17i worked perfectly and didn't miss a beat. Since then it randomly switches itself off and regaularly reboots when I slide the keyboard out. It hasn't been damaged and I haven't rooted it or done anything out of the ordinary with it. It's only 6 months old.

And i have to take out the battery and insert again for it to function properly. I am in Pakistan so i cant take it to any Sony franchise.. I got it checked here locally and found out that the slider strip is damaged. Can u tell if its really the strip and if so can u parcel me the strip if i pay for it.

So what happened was that I updated my software on my nokia n97 min to 30.0.004. After the update , when I went to write a message , most of the letters are mixed up - if I press A it's Q and so on..It's really difficult using my phone since all it's messed up, and even worst- if I go on the web browser they are even more messed up then when I am writing a message. I really have no idea what to do. I already reinstalled the software at least 10 times but the same problem is coming over and over again. I don't understand why, when I did it trough Ovi suite, so it is supposed to be the right software. Is there any another place where I can download the software manually and install it manually?

I have a problem locking my keys automatically with closing the slide. The support page of nokia says: When the slide is closed the keypad is also locked automatically. But I can't find in my settings of the phone how I'm able to activate this. I always have to push lock when I have closed the phone and it would be much easier if it locked auto.
View 12 Replies View RelatedWhen I am not using and not sliding out my keyboard sometimes it gets automatically to the horizontal or when I slide out my keyboard, the screen gets not horizontal. At worst case it lacks between horizontal and vertical mode.
But when I am locking the phone with not slided out keyboard, sometimes it automatically unlocks the screen because the phone thinks that I slided out my keyboard, and normally when you slide out your keyboard at locked mode and don't have any code or password it unlocks the screen.
I was just wondering if there's a way to disable these capacitive keys on the bottom? I want to disable it because I often use apps, and accidentally touch these keys, it's becoming really annoying. This is true especially when I'm using the camcorder app, and my right hand touches one of the keys and it exits. Or is there another camera/camcorder app that disables the keys?

With the first store, I had it replaced TWICE on that SAME DAY because of the issue of it, XPERIA ST15i, activating its home and back keys by itself. For the third replacement because of the same issue, it ended with a refund. So I went to another store to buy another one, and luckily, that malfunction doesn't manifest anymore. Now, after about 2 weeks, that malfunction started to have its episodes again. The menu and back keys are now activating themselves whenever I'm using an app, or just the browser.

It only happens with texts from him, no-one else. I've tried deleting our conversation but it makes no difference.
