I have had the Milestone 2 for 5 months now. Last week, the keys on the slide-out keyboard started double triggering - not always and not all of them, but it started with the "o" & "p" & seemed to spread. Turning off & removing battery has made no difference. It definitely is not the way I press as I had zero double triggers until this moment. Is there a way to reset the repeat rate?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWithout warning, my soft keys stopped working. When I press one, they activate whatever is on the touch screen above them. (For instance, the menu soft key is right below the widget on my home page for contacts. When I press the menu soft key, it activates the contacts widget rather then accessing menus.) I tried a factory reset (I'll spare you the frustrating story of how the backup app I paid for doesn't seem to have worked as promised for me, though thousands of others love it), which included clearing the cache and was done using the external keys not via the reset option in settings. Freshly restarted, prior to adding any of the apps or changing anything, the soft keys still exhibit that behaviour. (Though, come to think of it, I also think the wallpaper stayed, which makes no sense to me. Everything else had to be reconfigured and the reset/cache clearing didn't throw any errors...hmz...)
The Droid 2 keyboard has a back button, which I've been using non-stop since the soft keys went out on me. And a search button, but I never use that. I can get by without a way to simulate having the home key (though I wouldn't mind that). But, as you can imagine, the lack of a functioning Menu key is a serious impediment. I love my Droid 2 enough that, rather than use my "new every 2" to upgrade to a Droid 4, I'm hoping to either fix my issue (which could include fixing the soft keys OR findind a keyboard shortcut for the Menu key) or buy a "new" Droid 2.
So, anyone have either a troubleshooting suggestion other than a reset (tried twice now) and/or know a magical shortcut on the physical keyboard that will do the same thing as the Menu soft key?(Phone is not rooted and has the latest version of Android that Verizon pushed...Looks like 2.3.4)
I frequently turn the Triumph sideways to use the larger keyboard (easier to press buttons). After the first few letters I press are displayed, I can hear the phone click to acknowledge that I pressed a key, but nothing is displayed on screen.Items of note:
-The audible click when a key is pressed but doesn't display is not the same sound as when a key is pressed and actually displays correctly on-screen.
-often, but not always, when the phone is turned upright, the missing key presses will appear after all as successfully typed in the display.This is my first smartphone. Is this a problem with the gyro-rotation logic? Is this a common problem with phones in general? Is it a symptom reated to scren protectors?
-I have not removed any screen protector meant to be permanent to the phone. I believe there was a bluish film meant to be removed (which I did - at least therewas definitely one over the camera lens)
-I did carefully apply a ZAGG Invisible Shield universal screen protector. NOTE: It was not quite as large as as the Triumph screen and thus the top edge of it lies slightly into the front-facing camera lens and the sensor on the upper right.

But I can't find in my settings of the phone how I'm able to activate this. I always have to push lock when I have closed the phone and it would be much easier if it locked auto.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use SA to turn off my Ringer Volume, Cellular data and start VIP caller mode. The triggers are Timeframe and Wi-Fi connection. I use two different ones, Sound Weekend and Sound Weekdays. Both have different time triggers but the same Wi-Fi connection. They do turn off correctly but here is the issue, they do not return the Ringer Volume back on. I had both the time triggers on one SA then when this happened separated them as above. I did not have this issue until ICS was installed.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI updated my Milestone which is UAE version to Froyo yesterday after a long delay, was really excited all evening until i discovered two problems with my wifi.The Device does not connect to the corporate network as my office uses 802.1x EAP and there is no place to enter proxy where as my friends using samsung galaxy s (Froyo 2.2) connect to the network and browse using the wifi advanced settings to enter the proxy in their device.

But after some minute It restart with a blank screen then reboot to OS and MSU says update failed. My last resort is to flash it via RSDLITE but when im trying to get into bootloader it shows blank screen then reboot to OS. I cant enter to my bootloader.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHave a brand new install of Windows 7 64bit and a 6 month old Milestone 2 which has always succesfully connected to PC/Mac in USB mass storage mode, but when trying to connect to new Windows & PC the PC tries to install MTP drivers that fail.Solution is to select the failed device in device manager and manually install the driver selecting the device as a USB mass storage device and not the default MTP device.

I last week sent my phone to the service center to ask them to update it to 2.2, they returned the phone saying it is up to date.I am sick of removing applications and always worrying about the remaining ROM availability. My Xperia Mini Pro has a fault with the keyboard - when I slide it out it activates, ie the background light comes on but then it goes out. Sometimes it stays on a for a few seconds whilst fully open but then goes off. Nothing physical has happened to the phone and it doesn't seem to be a loose connection or anything. I've tried updating the software but that didn't help.

I tried to find a highlight setting I would have disactivated by mistake but there is no highlight set up. At this point, i'm not sure if it's a software or hardware problem, or if the phone just doesn't have highlight function.

The keys also seem to have a slow response time. Especially the backspace button which i have to click multiple times to get to delete things. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the torch 9800 and there appears to be a bug with the on screen keyboard. After viewing a few pdf files in Repligo Reader I went to compose an email. I noticed that the on screen virtual keyboard was missing the outlines around the individual keys and the alt, shift, language selection and delete keys are not displayed. Also the background of the keyboard is all gunmetal grey and the keys are white with no outlines as mentioned above. I can still use the keys, touch the area where the keys are not displayed and the functionality remains intact. This happens in both horizontal and vertical mode. If I change the vertical keyboard to compact mode in options the vertical keyboard is displayed normally. I have reproduced this issue, reported it to the Repligo Reader developer and the only way to resolve it is a hard reset or full device restart.
