BB Storm2 9550/9520 :: Way To Have Multiple Browsers
Mar 25, 2010Is there a way to have multiple browsers on the storm 2 (95500 (Besides adding Opera or Bolt)? I swear when I first got this phone there was a BROWSER and BLACKBERRY BROWSER just like the old 8330's had. Maybe I'm wrong. I am hooked up to BES and BIS. I just hate having to switch back and forth.

Nov 26, 2010I was wondering, is there a way to delete an entire conversation?I assumed it would be any standard feature on any phone which has sms messages displayed as conversations.Not only can I not find a way to do this, but it seems that I can't even select and delete individual messages from the conversation view, I need to select and enter each individual message to then delete it, which returns me to the top of the thread. This is very frustrating when wanting to delete an entire conversation. It will take forever!

Please see the attached screenshots showing the issue on Lifehacker.com (Problem exists on all other Kinja sites as well). I have confirmed with Chrome, Firefox and Opera, it's the same for all three. The problem does not exist on my old android phone, which has the same browser versions. Looking into the code, it seems the font in question is Proxima Nova Condensed Regular. BB Bold :: Browsers No Longer Work With 6.0 Update?
Dec 8, 2012Yesterday I updated from 5.0 to the 6.0 bundle via laptop. Afterwards since I am always connected to wifi I tried to use my twitter app. It wouldn't connect. So I tried to open my hotspot brpwser and that wouldn't work either. I disconnected from my wifi and reconnected. Same result. My wifi and both my tmobile and wifi browsers were working perfectly before I updated.

Mar 9, 2014In the last couple of days I have been unable to use any browser on my HTC One (9 months old and never had a problem before).
I had been using the default browser or Chrome. Now when I try to use them they randomly shut down and return to the menu screen. This usually happens within a few seconds of opening and is not linked to any action I'm making.
I tried installing Opera and Firefox but both have the same issue.
Other symptoms I've noticed:
- Keyboard takes ages to appear and often disappears after I have entered only one character in the address/search
- Phone has slowed down
- Battery life has fallen dramatically (running power saver and lasting less than a day where it had been fine previously)
I recently updated Chrome but not sure if the 2 are related. I'm running android 4.3 and HTC Sense 5.5.
BB Curve 8300 :: Multiple Problems On Multiple New 8330
Jan 19, 2010In september I bought an 8330 curve. It worked great, and other than a few small things (not comfirming bbm contacts) it worked awesome, solid, never unstable. The screen started to have bubbles on the inside of it, so I took it in on warranty, and was given a new one AFTER I was sent home to make a backup. I get the new phone, came directly home and reloaded the backup. The next day, it started randomly rebooting. Even if it was just sitting there.
Sunday it shut off and when it tried to restart it just went to JVM error 102. If you reset it or did a hard reset it would always go to JVM error 102 when it tried to boot. I was out of town, and use my phone for work, so I was tickled pink, since its supposedly brand new.
Monday night they give me a new one AGAIN because nobody at the store can seem to fix it or figure it out. I go home, reload my data, wich is now a week old, and within a few hours it randomly starts rebooting agian. Then it wouldnt start, just flash the red LED, wich it did regardless of how many times I tried a hard restart. Eventualy this morning after 8 hours of flashing the red LED, I did a hard restart and it work.
I don't download apps. I use the phone, text, email, and I email pictures to my boss. Its the main reason i have a BB, so I dont get killed on MMS message charges, I just have unlimited email and I send the pics on email. The odd time I browse. And I don't do any of the things ppl talk about on crackberry where they are farting around doing things they arent supposed to and thier phone crashes. Any idea why my "new" curves keep doing this? 3rd one in 5 months, and 2 of them in the last week.
Apps? The ones that come on the phone from the factory. I live in terror that any thing else will brick my curve. I even talk nice to it.
IPhone :: Multiple Contacts With Multiple Phone Numbers?
May 11, 2012I have contact list with records for a lot of people (300+), each with several phone numbers each, home, mobile & work, etc, .I can't seem to find a way to have the iPhone announce the name & number or name & type (home,mobile,work) of the caller from the contact list, my old cell phone could do that easily.
At the moment what I've been doing as a work around for a few (important) people is to create a custom ringtone for that caller & that phone number. Since it also seems there's no way to attach a different ringtones to each number in a single contact record I've had to create multiple contact records for each person, each with a different name/number combination such as "John Doe Work", "John Doe Home" or John Doe Mobile" then assign to it the custom ringtone I created for that name/number.
I need to this so that if I receive a call while I'm driving (or whatever) that I can't answer right then for some reason (often happens), the ringtone I created for that name & number helpfully lets me know who & where their calling from. It's very important to know where someone is calling from, if someone's calling from home then I know I've got some time, but if their calling from work then I need to get back to them quickly.
having to make multiple contacts & ringtones for a every person with multiple numbers is a extraordinary waste of time. My old cell phone could do this with no problem but there doesn't seem to be any way to do this with my new iphone.

I am finding that my connection speeds are hit and miss and I believe that if we look at the soccer schedule we will be able to prove this theory. I just don't see how folks can navigate quickly with Bolt. That screen is so little and trying to get that little pointer in the right place is frustrating. I have read that Bolt is supposed to render better, if a little slower than Opera. I must just have too big of fingers for Bolt...

Apr 14, 2015The number one thing that frustrates me about most Internet Browsers is the inability to change the settings to have a black webpage background with white letters. White backgrounds are so hurtful on the eyes, especially with a big screen device like the N6. It's additionally a source of bigger battery drain to have bright white pages. Now, for those who remember, changing this used to be possible with the stock "Internet Browser" that came on the Android devices.
I currently use "UC Browser" due to it's ability to change the webpage background to a dark screen with Sepia-colored letters.
Are there any other Browsers that do this or present this ability? And I'm not talking about dimming the entire screen in a poorly implemented "Night Mode" (a correctly implemented one would completely switch the text/background without affecting images).
I'm constantly re-evaluating what I use and would love to have alternatives.
An additional bonus is the VERY strong built-in ad-blocking capabilities of "UC Browser". It completely blocks all injected ads. Go to AndroidCentral using Chrome and you'll see an injected box by "GoogleAdServices" pop-up at the bottom of your screen. The same page with "UC Browser" (with ad-blocking activated) shows nothing but the webpage. I like to have Ads blocked to save bandwidth/data usage, so that's an important feature. What Browsers (or specific extension) blocks these types of Ads (like the ones from Google)? I like Ghostery Browser for this but you can't export Bookmarks.

Feb 18, 2010Ever notice that you can swipe the homescreen either left or right where all the widgets disappears and you are left with an empty homescreen. I know it looks like you are just hiding the icons, and when you press options, you return to original homescreen.
But the question is, why didn't nokia introduce multiple homescreens in the first place. Its obvious that it can be done. The N97 could have been such a powerful device, worthy of the title of 'flagship' but nokia really dropped the ball here.

Aug 8, 2010Does Apple give you a hard time if you are getting a replacement for a replacement phone? I swapped mine for a battery issue but I am now having proximity / dropped call issues pretty bad... which I didn't have before. Will they give me a hard time if I want to try another replacement?
