Sep 15, 2010am completely new here and completely new to the smart phone. It's just that all my other Sony phones, the alarm worked (and calendar reminder) when the phone was switched off, to wake me up ect. Is there a way to activate this so that it will work, or does the phone have to be switched on to use this facility

Xperia Z3 :: Alarm Not Working On Phone
Sep 6, 2012Updated Z3+ to Marshmallow 5.0.2 and subsequently discovered (on the first day back to work) that alarms (native clock) no longer work after the phone is left overnight.
Have checked notifications, priority status, display settings etc. Have force closed, cleared cache and re-started. No success.
If I test the alarm during the daytime (with normal phone usage) it works fine, the problem only occurs when the phone is left idle for extended periods.
Have spent hours on forums looking for solutions, with some references to Doze causing issues, although seemingly not with native clocks and as far as I can tell, not with Xperia devices.

Mar 29, 2011When I set my alarm in the evening and turn off my phone, the phone is not able to ring the alarm in the morning. This is a problem as I use my xperia x8 as my alarm clock which in turn means that I can never turn my phone off and that I have to trust that the phone does not turn off by itself in the night (which it sometimes does) to be sure to get up in the morning if I have important meetings etc. This seems R&D wise a step back as my old sony ericsson w880i could do exactly this

Feb 11, 2010My mum only gave me this phone 2days ago as she got a new one. She's never had a problem with it and has kept it in a hard case so still looks brand new. I always have a habit of breaking or losing phones, this is 3rd one in 4 months. Anyway I picked my phone up and it was switched off but I presumed it was dead as I had left my music playing. I put it on charge only for 10 minutes but I never tried switchig it on as I forgot to take it out with me. I put it on charge again last nite but it won't turn on this morning. The screen comes up white with the battery sign on the right which stops after a minute as I assume its fully charged now. Its not the charger as my bf uses it for his and the phone does seem to be charging. The on button can't be broken as when I press it the white background comes back on.
