I istalled the pc companion, connected my phone to the computer, and followed the instruction. but then, it asked me to follow some confusing steps. it says : disconnect the phone form pc, turn off the phone and wait for 5 secs, connect the usb back to comp, press and hold back key on the phone while connecting the usb cable into the phone. i tried these steps but its not working.

I can't seem to run any software updates on my phone when I connect to my computers.
Is there any mac compatible PC companion application I can download?I can download photos from my phone onto my mac but I cant run software updates. The computer keeps telling me device is not compatible.
PC Companion will detect my phone and download the updates but the problem is that when it asks me to turn off the phone and reconnect the USB cable (with back button pressed) i then get the PC's 'found new hardwear wizard' come up and ask me about installing new drivers, so i say yes- check online for updates and it then says there is a problem because the drivers may not be for Win XP x64 Pro, so nothing is installed.Meanwhile with PC Companion nothing happens.I have tried this several times to make sure i haven't made any mistakes, the only conclusion i can reach is that PC Companion doesn't work properly with my OS.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI do the update to 5.1.1 from the phone, but the update fail and the phone die, I try to unlock the bootloader, but I can't, y flash the boot by command and put the twrp. then i try to flash from the sony flasher this two files the US 23.4.A.0.546. and the hk 23.4.A.0.546 but both get stock in the system.sin after that my phone die in full again. So I flash the boot with commands and install the recovery and flash those two files again. With both give me error so I flash again with hk and my phone revive but I can't use it because I need the US rom. That's why I'm asking for the rom 1288-2987.4

View 5 Replies View RelatedYesterday I updated my phone. After the update I'm not able to start up the phone again. The black start screen (black screen saying SONY Xperia) pops up for a few seconds and then the phone turns off and starts up again with the same screen. It keeps doing this over and over again.
I've tried pushing the OFF butten/+vol button, but the same things happen when I try to turn if on again.
I've tried to connect it to PC companion, but since the phone turns off and on all the time I'm not able to connect it to the PC.

2 days ago i did the 2.3 update on my phone, since the upgrade my phone refuses to recognise the sim card in my phone. Also if i try to connect my phone to pc vis usb cable it says 'please insert memory card and reinsert usb' tried this maybe 10 times nothing. So my question is how the **** do i get the phone to recognise that there is a memory card in it? I don't need the SD card for contacts etc as they've all been synced just really want my photos/music back & be able to use my camera again.

After starting the updating setup via Sony PC Companion this program told that at time my PC is preparing (and it will take some time) itself for updating I can disconnect my phone or not, so I disconnected it and then I pluged it in again. Phone started to update (it turned off and started updating) and suddenly communique came out telling me that my phone is no longer connected. Sony PC Companion told me to unplug it and restart, after that my phone keeps restarting all the time.

First SEPCC presented a message for update then it told to disconnect the phone from USB, switch it off, remove battery for at least 5 sec., put battery again, connect it USB with pressing back button. After that it starts downloading the update and then tried to install the update. But it failed 2 times.
Right now I am not able to start the mobile even by removing the memory. On the screen it displays SONY ERICSSON text and a '!' mark inside a triangle.

My phone is encrypted and it didn't ask to unencrypt before applying the update, so I assume this is the reason it failed. So, installed the latest PC Companion on my Windows 7 laptop, it tells me that I'm on the latest version (connected via USB)... so... what now?
