My X10 mini pro is consistently telling me a software update is available, and I must update via computer. However, the PC Companion says the software is already up to date. The phone has firmware 2.1-update1.
View 3 RepliesIf I try using the PC Companion to update my Xperia X10 mini it gets to preparing and it stays there for a while then gives the error 'Unable to install or start update components' I then click on OK and it says 'The update of software has failed.
If I try using the PC Companion it gets to preparing and it stays there for a while then gives the error saying 'An unexpected error has occurred. The application will shut down'I made some screen-shots of the errors.No matter what I try I cannot get it to work.

Connected the usb port while holding the back button and selected connect the phone but nothing happened. I've tried this about 6 times now and nothing.Should the phone be asking me what i want to do each time? I thought there was an option to set the phone to automatically mount when connecting the usb cable but it seems to be gone in 2.1. Could anything be blocking it? My phone is UK unbranded and on firmware version 2.1-update 1.

My friend got the same update via his HTC shortly after, he was able to update directly from his phone without any problem. I was informed I had to connect to a PC to update mine, frustrating but I do understand the definate benefit. But there are only benefits if the software related is robust and well tested, which it isn't.I connected my phone, updated PC companion, connected the phone via pc companion. Attempted to use the support zone which had just been updated also. I got the error message saying " Pc Companion need to connect to online server". I have done suggest it's only a temporary problem but I've tried on over 10 different occasions on two different PC's.I then tried using the SUS as I needed to use that to update to ICS in the first place, but it wants to dowload a 127mb file, way to big for the patch which is meant to be 0.1mb.

I tried to update my phone by using pc companion and also SUS... but i am not abale to update my phone... when i am using SUS it says something going wrong... and the application shut down... i re instal it but unable to update.. when i use pc companion it show me i have an update.. but during the stage 3.Update is says my phone does not have any update.
After multiple tries of trying to update Android for my Xperia X10 mini pro phone via the PC Companion as well as the downloaded Update Service (after reading similar threads) i am still at a loss! I am in Mumbai using an Airtel SIM.
In the case of the PC Companion, it goes smoothly until the Prepare step (where no Previous & Next buttons appear). After "preparing" the phone nothing happens. I tried pressing Enter & then it goes onto the Update panel. But here the Download status bar is just mpty & doesnt download anything.
With the Update Service, it runs fine till the Connect step. After following the instructions once again nothing happens. Here there is only a Previous button & no Next button. Pressing Enter takes you to the Previous panel.
In both cases I have seen no message appear on the phone at all & no sign of anything being recognized on either of the softwares.

Now I'm trying to update the operating system(Android) using the receipt given on the Sony Ericssons homepage using Sony Ericsson PC Companion 2.0.PC OS: Windows XP SP3 (32-bit).Everything works well until I come to the point where I'm supposed to disconnect the USB-cable, turn the mobile phone off, restart the mobile phone, reconnect the USB-cable and holding the Back-button when doing this.I get a new page telling me to pull the top menu down and activate the USB connection (or something like that). When I have done this the page switches back to the former page where I'm again told to disconnect theUSB-cable, turn the mobile phone off etc.I have also tried to use the Update Service, but I'm not coming any further than to the first page.

I have been trying to update my x10 mini pro with a new software. Have been tryinf SE homepage and also SE PC Companion but it just doesnt work. I do everything as the menu says but at one point the programme freezes and nothing happens. I press down the "back" button while putting in the cable and just keep it pressed down and hoping the transfer will start but nothing happens. The phone starts up and thats it, then it all freezes.Tried to disable my Security programe too while updating. Tried different USB connections.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi have bought my x10 mini and i am update it from android 1.6 to android 2.1 by myself using sony PC companion. yes , i am able to install it in about 1 hour , i have notice that the battery consumption after the update is terrible, battery would not recover although the screen is turn off , battery temperature is about 34 deg celcius.I am then turn off all the data transfer , wifi , GPS, background process , kill all the running app application and measure the battery consumption rate !!! it give me 20 minute/percent of battery which is very not desired ! For "my" X10 mini SE 2.1 update ecleair got bug on CPU management, it run continously without going to sleep mode!

The camera does not not get activated when I press teh Key avalable at the side of the phone. When i activate the camera from the application menu, I could focus and also use the flash to take picture. A green dot appears at the top left corner of the screen and blinks for some time indicating it is ready to shoot. I also get a beep sound as it should normally happen when the shot is successful. But, the pictures are not saved on my phone. I tried both inserting a sim card and without it.

First SEPCC presented a message for update then it told to disconnect the phone from USB, switch it off, remove battery for at least 5 sec., put battery again, connect it USB with pressing back button. After that it starts downloading the update and then tried to install the update. But it failed 2 times.
Right now I am not able to start the mobile even by removing the memory. On the screen it displays SONY ERICSSON text and a '!' mark inside a triangle.
