Xperia X10 :: Upgrade Fail - Phone Will Now Not Boot?
Aug 5, 2011
Haven't had time to read up on who else this may have happened to, but tried upgrading this morning via PC Companion and I recieved a fail message, asking to try again. Turned phone on - get the SE logo, then the bottom half of the screen looks like someone stepped on it - weird yellow graphic appears all scrambled! Will not boot up and my PC detects then un-detects phone continuously
I have a fail with stamina mode after upgrade to android lollipop. My connections wifi and mobile data are still active and that reduces my battery life. Should I reinstall android kitkat?
I did the 5.0 / lollipop upgrade and now everytime I turn the phone on it goes to google screen, then a bunch of colorful balls float around, then it says android for one second and shuts down. What can I do?
I do the update to 5.1.1 from the phone, but the update fail and the phone die, I try to unlock the bootloader, but I can't, y flash the boot by command and put the twrp. then i try to flash from the sony flasher this two files the US 23.4.A.0.546. and the hk 23.4.A.0.546 but both get stock in the system.sin after that my phone die in full again. So I flash the boot with commands and install the recovery and flash those two files again. With both give me error so I flash again with hk and my phone revive but I can't use it because I need the US rom. That's why I'm asking for the rom 1288-2987.4
My batteray was 70% last i see on my phone. This morning my phone was on my pocket and an hour later suddenly death.
I tried to press the power button, power button with up volume and red buton on sim card slot but it doesnt work. My phone only turn on with Sony Xperia on the screen but didnt want to booting on OS.
My Xperia Z5 continually heating up after boot then it going to Sleep of dead i have to reset by put the power botton and volume up to boot my Xperia again. Iit take about 3 minutes before going to dead after boot.
Two weeks ago my phone screen began randomly freezing, and a small section at the bottom would become digital noise/pixels. To fix this I simply locked my phone with the power button, waited a few minutes and my phone would be back to normal. I can't remember if this started happening before or after I updated my phone to the latest software.
For the last week when I unlock my phone, every now and again the screen won't turn on.
Sometimes when I plugged it in to charge, the charging screen would display and I could turn it on that way. When the screen was blank, sometimes I could press the power button repetitively (locking & unlocking my phone) and the screen would eventually turn on.
I then figured out I could do a 'hard reset' by holding down the power and volume up buttons, and my phone would work again.
I can't turn it off without it initiating a boot loop all on its own. Every time I press the power button and select "Power Off", it turns off and then about 5 seconds later the Sony screen comes back on, stays on for a few seconds, turns back off and repeats. I can break the bootloop by holding the power button for about 10 seconds and turning the device back on. The consequence is that every time I turn off my phone, it discharges totally!
My phone is NOT rooted and it hasn't been modified in any way.
Compilation number 23.0.1.A.0.167 Kernel 3.4.0-perf-gd4d661a BuildUser@BuildHost #1 Baseband 8974-AAAAANPZQ-00027-12
The issue appeared after a few months of use, in November. I think it didn't coincide with any software update. It's not a brand new phone so I wouldn't like to return it as I already have lots of information in there.
It has been now 4 months i have this Z2, unitl now everything was working fine, last day the battery drained completely, 0% and it got off. after some time i connected the phone to wall charger using original charger and cable , the screen boots and sony xperia flash and then it get off and then again keeps boot loop,

i tried connecting to PCC but it also doesnt detect and keep searching phone. i tried repairing using PCC but it doesnt detect phone. i tried holding DOWN volume during power on but green led doesnt come ...
My phone is used as a controller to activate an application. However, it suffers from frequent crashes (Tasker),Is there a way to remotly reboot the phone?i.e. by using another Android application (remote access - like SMS command)? Is there a way to implement a watchdog internally that will reboot if there is no usage for 24 hours
I tap "ok" and the message comes back again. The strange thing is that the message is in spanish (I have my phone in English and that the lockscreen photo has dissapeared and the xperia theme is there now.
It seems like the phone is working ok in the background, but I cannot access the homescreen.
I can take screenshots, change the volume, etc. and as I could access the phone's internal and sdcard I made all the backups as possible.
I upgraded my N8 to Symbian Anna. Now every time at boot it wants me to login to OVI. I do not want to login to OVI as I feel that I do not have any control over the data usage of it. I am frequent traveler and I guess that OVI is not going to pay for the internet while I am roaming. I need to get entirely rid of this OVI login screen. Anyone who can explain how I can remove the OVI login from my phone ? Pressing the Later button is not an option.
I own a SM-G920F from Austria, and i tried to update the Android version to 6.0.1 by downloading the United Kingdom ROM. Unfortunately, after flashing it, odin failed, and now my device cannot boot and shows a error.
I have tried the 5.1.1 version from UK, but that failed too just after a second of pressing Odin, what to do now.
the sony ericsson PC Companion says i have a software update available. but then i click on update, a window pops up and says 'This application could not be installedPlease try again later' whyy isn't it working?
The phone does not go into sleep mode after 1 minute. After using the phone for 20 or 30 minutes, does not go into sleep mode, showing the home screen forever.
though i received a notification in my xperia x10i that new software update to 2.1 is available when i connect the phone to computer the PC companion says my phone is uptodate.my current version is 1.6.
I was just wondering if the bionic is one of these devices?http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/02/some-android-phones-fail-to-enforce-permissions-exposed-to-unau/
Today I have got the firmware update of 4.1.B.0.587 for my Xperia Pro (MK16i) but I fail to find any difference from the previous ICS update. Can any body tell me what is new here?
smartphone to replace my sturdy nonsmartphone. After some research, Xperia mini pro was the winner.I have not done much with the phone (synced to google, set up some wireless networks, pretty much it).PC companion: tells me an update is available. I get a page telling me to learn more about android 4.0 before allowing the "Continue" button to be pushed. After reading it, I push the "continue" button, but at the start of step 2 PC companion just goes back to the home screen.Software update through phone: "You have the latest software and applications from Sony Ericsson. Your phone is up to date!" (android 2.3.4, build 4.0.2.a.0.62)
The device has been bought from Three Network in UK as Pay As You GO method., and few days before i got the sim unlock code to use this device in India. The device has been installed with Android 1.6 and i want it to upgrade it with version 2.1. I just want to know whether upgrade of this new version creates any damage to the device or is there any chance of getting sim lock again.
I can't send SMS with my Verizon iPhone 4s. I'm in Amsterdam, using a Vodafone NL SIM card. Can send/receive phone calls, receive texts, and use data; just can't send texts! I've checked and reset the message center number by "calling": **5005*7672*+316540881000# on my phone. When I type in *#5005*7672# it gives me the +316540881000 phone number. But, I still can't send texts.
I upgraded my phone to 2.1 and have a regular sync via PC Companion, but can no longer see my contacts when trying to dial. My phone reads, 'Cannot read from SIM ...'. However, if I go to create a new text message, I can Add Recipient and access all of my contacts, just as they appear on the SE Sync site.
unable to charge my Neo V after ICS upgrade.earlier with gingerbread i was able to connect the phone to any pc at work or home and phone use to get charged. However now i can charge the phone on personal computer but when i connect the phone on work computer its asks for phone software installation, which i cannot due to secuirty rights.
I have an app, Activity Classifier, that uses the handset accelerometers to provide information on activities and total exercise. It automates exercise tracking, classifies activities by type and quantifies aerobic intensity. Live data streamed from an Xperia Arc using the app is displayed in a blog. While it is possible to use on the Active it is unfortunately more difficult on the Active than the Arc because the Active accelerometers have a fault that is hard to get around. The problem is that the accelerometers sometimes take quite a while to start sampling when either started or the sampling frequency is changed.Occasionally it can take longer than 90 seconds. The problem can be seen with the app Accelerometer Frequency. Switch between sampling frequencies and notice that sometimes it switches instantly and sometimes it doesn't. To minimise battery consumption Activity Classifier acquires data from the accelerometers for 6 seconds out of every 30. If no other app is using the accelerometers they will start and stop every sampling period. On the Active they frequently don't start and the app detects a faulty accelerometer. The app has an option to keep accelerometers on and if this is selected it will work OK but battery consumption goes up a lot. The Active comes with a pedometer app called Walkmate. I can see from the Accelerometer Frequency app that Walkmate keeps the acclerometers running at 50 Hz and running Walkmate at the same time as Activity Classifier will make Activity Classifier work OK as well. Walkmate seems pretty power efficient and uses less than half the power of the market leading pedometer app Accupedo, run in power balanced mode, but it counts a different number of steps.
I re-installed 2.3.3 after having a few problems and that went ok so I decided that I would root my phone as well. That didn't go so well. My phone will not boot up now.
I was given someone else's phone that will not boot. I know very little about Android -- but am more computer-literate than the owner and that's how I ended up with it.
The phone freezes when booting. After it shows the AT&T logo, the frozen screen has an "htc one" logo with "beats audio" written down below.
I would like to pull the photos off of this device (which means I can't do a factory reset) but how to do it. I don't believe the phone has been modified in anyway (rooted or whatever). What can I do?
